  1. hi VJ!

i had my medical last 2 weeks ago and the scar was still visible so i underwent Sputum Test. I told them that i had a TB History and that was caused my scar but i already had treatment last 2011.

my question is do i have to say yes to the question in one of the DS Forms " Have you ever been afflicted with a communicable disease of public health significance.......?"

i just dont want to lie but am little afraid also if this will be a hindrance of my K1 Visa...

i need your comments. Thank you!

Hello kababayan, Honesty is the best policy. If im in your shoes, I will answer yes, coz u have documents to prove that u were treated. Good luck!

  2. I've seen a few posts that mention it's normal for fiances family to ask for money in the Philippines when emergencies come up. I had already sat down and explained to my fiances family that I will not be sending any money back, that my fiance can send back 100% of whatever money she makes. I really didn't think anything that major would come up, but I was sadly mistaken. Her brother got into a motorcycle accident and when I heard the cost of the surgery I knew it was pretty damn bad. I never thought it would be hard saying I can't send money but it was. I'm wondering if anyone has found other ways to deal with this kind of situation? I don't know many people who would give 10k to their wives families in the US so how do you justify doing it for someone in the philippines? It feels like either way it's a bad decision, being a crutch can hurt as much as help. I understand their daily life and general stuff, but I still don't understand how loans work or how you have to wait for surgery until you pay for it all. I guess it's all a bigger dilemma than I originally thought it would be.

I hope her brother will get to feeling better. I feel sad about him being hurt and as well as for you who is basically helping them, as far as the financial aspect is concerned. I dont know about other cultures, but in the phils. as I speak for myself, being a pinay. It is very common for families who are in poverty to depend on other family members for help, which s sad. And they think money is so abundant that it just grow on trees here in the United States. There will never be any way to make them understand that people here do work hard in order to live and pay bills. I hope things will work out for you and your fiance. And that her love for you will inspire her to have the courage to explain to her family that there should be a limit on how much she can help because you both are preparing for your future together as a couple, coz by the time she gets here it will cost you even more. And a lot of adjustments on her part as well. So good luck to u both!

  3. I have read some posts on here relating to US Citizen marrying a person who is on a tourist visa here...so how does that work, what is the process, are they allowed to stay here if they do get married legitimately? Immigration paperwork has to be filled out I'm sure, and in meantime, does the visitor have to go back to their country or can they stay?

    Thanks for any input.

    Cheers.

Hi, I came to the United States on a Tourist Visa entry, so basically, I was granted a 10 yrs. multiple entry granting I was only allowed to stay within the span of six months per visit. I got married to my husband and we did the same paperwork applications (ex: the fiance visa) for me to become a conditional permanent resident. The IO was not skeptical towards us when we had our interview coz Ive known my husband for 2 yrs and he had been to the Philippines, so we had pictures together and some other itinerary documents which served as a proof that we were really a genuine couple.

  4. I will have my 10 yrs interview this month. My husband ask a time off to work , his company said he can get a time off BUT HE will get a points. This interview affect his job. His work said that this is a personal matter that's why they can't give him time off. I was wondering if I can request a supine letter to our congressman?? Or where can I request that?

    Any info please?

Hi, I hope my experience will help u a little, regarding your scheduled permanent resident renewal appointment. I was by myself when I had my interview coz my husband had to work. So, If having him with you on the day of your appointment date is your concern, I think it will work out just fine if you will be by yourself.

  5. Hi, I just want to share what I had experience when I applied for Naturalization. I followed wot was in my Green Card. The only thing that concerns me now is that if I'll apply for dual citizenship my US and Phil. Passports wont have the same Middle Names. Since I've been using my Mother's maiden name as my Middle Name now that I am married. Good luck on your application!
