  1. Well was on the phone with a couple of different people for this. What it came down to is most likely the address change was applied shortly after the change of status to approved. So whoever noted the address change was simply unaware that this was past the initial review step. I was told to still look in the mail for the NOA2, so I'm content with that!

  2. So I checked my case two days ago on the USCIS website, and it said that my case was in the post decision step and approved. However, I changed my address around the same time, hoping that I would be able to get the NOA 2 sent to my current address. I checked the same receipt number on USCIS today, and it shows that as of July 30th, the address change was applied, and it shows the case back in initial review! Is this just a typo that someone overlooked after doing the change of address? I'm just hoping I didn't get false information for some reason and am still pending my NOA2.....

  3. I called USCIS today to inquire. They told me they couldn't release the address that it was sent to, so no help there. They basically just told me that if I haven't received it in 30 days, that's when I can call back. I would imagine if it didn't go to a valid address, it will be returned to them, and it's my understanding they annotate that either on their website or via an e-mail. Then you call back and re-request it. It shouldn't slow the process down any, as everything else can be gathered for the interview and all of the following steps with NVC and the embassy.

  4. Hello all,

Just checked the USCIS website now that everything is back up and running. I see that my case is in post decision and approved as of July 24th, so couldn't be happier about that (March filer). However, the day prior, I had to relocate for my job. I changed my address to have all mail forwarded, and used the online form to change my address through USCIS. I obviously doubt the needed change was made in time at USCIS. Will the NOA2 be forwarded like I'm hoping?? It's my understanding that it's necessary to have this included with my fiancee's packet once she begins the process with her embassy. Thanks..

  5. Hello,

Fairly new to VJ, and still a long way to go before NOA2 hits. Sent my application in at the beginning of March. My questions is regarding planning the wedding. My fiance is from Canada, and her family is much larger than mine. When we finally receive approval and her visa packet, during the 90-day timeframe, does the wedding have to be in the United States? Or could we wed in Canada, and then give the documentation of that to continue on with making her a citizen?

    Thanks for the help!
