Tomorrow is interview day for me.
-
Got a call from the local US Embassy official earlier this week to confirm my interview date for the 16th of July.
Went over all that I had to do ahead of time, medical examination and getting paperwork in order to bring to the interview.
So happy to be getting closer to the end of this process! -
dwheels - Thanks for adding me to the list.
Best of luck to all those out there that are scheduled and awaiting interviews. Positive vibes and prayers to all! -

Great news...
Just got the Case Complete e-mail from NVC.
Interview date set for July 16th!
Big thanks to Saylin for all the help! Your thoroughness in documenting your own process has helped tremendously! -
This topic and all the comments and perspectives are very interesting to read.
I am the journey to immigrating to the USA within the year and I am battling all the same and some additional issues.
I can totally feel with the individuals that feel at home and an alien all at the same time. Personally, I went to college and spent about 7 years in the USA, specifically in the NY/NJ area before I moved back home to the islands and feel like I grew into adulthood there, so I find that I am very comfortable in the hustle and bustle of it all. But, I also find that when I am there, I miss the pleasantries, politeness and mannerisms of my own island people. I established some lifelong friends in the USA that I still continue to put major efforts into maintaining, so that may be my 1-up.
My wife's family welcomes me with open arms and they are some of the most generous and understanding human beings that I have ever met, but I often wonder if I will become homesick and desire the laid back island lifestyle and feel stuck in the northeast.
My thought is that I will always have and carry home in my heart and I just have to make the best of any situations that may come.
Lastly, I think that emotionally we sometimes just want something that is so foundation to our being that it brings comfort and that is often what we find missing or removed. Whether it's food, movies, smells, weather, language, family or friendships it's all the same...we just want affirmation and familiarity. -
I made my payment to the US DOS last week Wednesday, but the Payment Status is still showing Pending.
Should I print the Cover Sheet while the Payment Status is still showing as pending or do I have to wait until it shows PAID? -
We recently received our NOA2 and got confirmation that the approved application was forwarded on to the Department of State for Visa processing.
With both my wife (USC) and I both being out of the country with no USA based job/income, how do we complete the I-864 by the petitioner?
We do have an additional sponsor, but I am concerned about what we put on my wife's forms.
Any assistance and or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Congrats DFrancis!
Doesthe USC live abroad?
Yes.
-
Approved!!
Just randomly checked the USCIS website yesterday and we have been approved.
So thankful right now! I trust that this positive movement also happens for the rest of the February Filers in short order!

Hi all. Awesome forum full of good tidbits!
Filed in early February and we are in the waiting room with the rest of you.

I just received NOA this morning in the mail, but when I called the number and provided the receipt number it said that the record could not be found. Anyone else have a similar experience?
-
You need to provide little more details what paperwork you submitted?
Sorry, we submitted our complete I-130 Packet.
-
Good day all.
We submitted our paperwork about a month ago and received an e-mail back that it had been accepted.
Just today when we checked with our Receipt Number it is saying that our case cannot be found.
Anyone have a similar experience?

Tell me if you think that I need to include more than the following:
1. Cover Letter (Stating my wife's intent for petition and contents of packet)
2. Complete I-130 Form
3. Check for $420.00
4. Complete G-1145 Form
5. G-325A Form (Petitioner)
6. Passport Photo of Petitioner
7. G-325A Form (Beneficiary)
8. Passport Photo of Beneficiary
9. Birth Certificate & Passport Info Page (Petitioner)
10. Birth Certificate & Passport Info Page (Beneficiary)
11. Certificate of Marriage
12. Bank Statement (Most recent copy)
13. Passport, Birth Certificate and Consular Report of Birth Abroad (Child #1)
14. Passport, Birth Certificate and Consular Report of Birth Abroad (Child #2)
Do I have all the required information covered?

Are personal pictures really necessary as evidence of a marriage?
My wife and I have been married for almost 6 years, we have two kids and constantly travel back and forth to the USA to visit her family in the USA.
If we have our children's Consular Report of Birth Abroad and other official American Citizen documents, are personal pictures really necessary.
I also forgot to state that we were also married in the USA.
Help.

New to VJ and been lurking in the background for a while reading and educating myself.
My wife and I have been married for almost 6 years. We met in college (USA) and she moved to my country, Bahamas, after she graduated college and we decided that we wanted to be together.
We married in 2007 and now have 2 kids.
Due to conditions and lack of opportunities for our kids in the Bahamas, we are now seeking to move back to the USA, nearer to her family.
I have been reading through the forum and I am very appreciative to see people helping people. I understand that this whole process can be quite taxing and it is good to see that there is comfort to be found in a community like this.
I look forward to the journey.
July 2013 Interviews

It is done!
The interview was today and at the end he just said that I need to come back on Thursday to pick it up. The agent didn't confirm that it was approved, but said that if I do not get a telephone call from them in the next 24 hours that means that they have no more questions and come in on Thursday to pick up.
From start to finish the whole interview was less than 4 minutes. Stood at the window and asked very straight forward questions about my wife, her hometown, where we met, her parents income and where they worked.
I was in and out of the embassy in just under an hour. Most of the time was spent waiting for my name to be called for initial check-in, fingerprinting and then the interview.
Thanks to all VJ members for all your help and encouragement. This is truly a very helpful community that I intend to give back to.
For all those in the middle of any of the stages, stay patient and exercise diligence.
