  1. Yes, Email the Embassy. You should be talking with them, not us.

I now have e-mailed the embassy, thanks. I came here because I didn't even know this was a possibility, but was hopeful someone here knew something I didn't, which turned out to be the case. Only by coming here did I learn the visa could be reissued by the consulate. Even the branch manager at USCIS didn't know that. But thanks for your help.

  2. My fiance received his visa in early November, arrived in the states the week of thanksgiving, and this past tuesday recieved a call his mom had a heart attack and was in critical condition. Our wedding was scheduled for Dec. 28th, but he had to leave and go back to Ukraine on the 25th. We tried to find a way to obtain an advanced parole, but in meeting with and discussing with USCIS local office station chief, since we had not gotten married there was nothing we could do. Being a holiday, and government offices being closed, court houses being closed, etc. we could do nothing. Does anyone know if talking to the consulate, or senator anyone could help us in this situation??? feeling really lost and really worried about going through the entire K1 process again, and being denied since he relinquished (in essence) his visa to go to be with his mom.

  3. I also live in houston and always flown klm they have the fastest flights from kiev with a 2 hour transfer in amsterdam and they have been the cheapest and the food not so bad. when sveta flew she enjoyed the flight since her first. btw what city in ukraine coming from? I have heard if ticket is bought in ukraine the fee is lower as not have the boat load of taxes in usa

Awesome I will tell him that avoiding the taxes and making the proce lower is awesome... He is from Shostka.

  4. Ticket hunting is hard on the mind. I went through most all entry points and transits. I started with the one way to find the cheapest and then tried to match up with a decent RT. To that extent I have found a $700 OW from Kiev and a $1200 RT going through Frankfort to LA.

If possible I would like him to enter in Houston since it is where I live. I have done searches and found tickets RT from Kiev to IAH for $820, the OW was $3500. My flights have usually been between 800-1200 from Houston to Kiev and I'm good with anything in or around that range. What site/search did you find the 700 on?

  5. We are still waiting for our interview to be scheduled, but have been looking at plane tickets to prepare and a question has come up. A one way ticket costs $3500, but a round trip ticket costs about $890. Is there any reason why buying a round trip ticket and not planning on using the return ticket would be a bad thing? Would have a return ticket raise flags with immigration once he arrives? Anyone else ever have a issue with this?

  6. So I was not transfered, and I have still heard nothing from Vermont! I keep seeing everyone here, and march/april filers approved, having interviews.. and here we sit still waiting for NOA2... I did just get back to the states after a 2 month visit in UA with my Fiance but in so many ways it just made it harder to come home and be separated again.. and to come home and read that all these filers after me have been approved frustrates me to no end! someone please tell me we are not the only ones still waiting that was not transferred!

  7. That is the "OMB date" the date which is supposed to remind the Office of Management and Budbet to review the form. Disregard the date.

For the A number, write "none" It is BEST not to leave those questions blank as then they are "not answered" and the adjudicator has "no answer" and may just decide they need an answer and how silly will you feel if you get an RFE to write "none"?

If it does not work on your computer program to type "none" (now hold on because I am going to divulge a top secret) then PRINT it blank and use this antique thing called a PEN to HANDWRITE "none" in the empty space. YES, they will accept it! :P

haha it is letting me type it in, but thanks I'll keep that in mind. Is there a different form for the foreign applicant? I only ask because it asks for appliants address if outside the U.S. but if they live outside the U.S. and already listed that it should be fine right? I feel so stupid because I know these should be simple things, I just do not want to mess anything up.

  8. on the form I downloaded off the USCIS website, i jsut read the form expires on 8/31/12, does this matter? Should I be looking for a new form somewhere??? Also, since we are just now submitting our 129f package there is no A number to be filled in on the form, we just leave that blank until they assign us one, is this correct? Should we be writting none is all empty blanks?

  9. As a more general answer to your question, this process is long, more than 4 years before your fiance becomes a citizen and there may be reasons to send original documents, signatures etc., back and forth during the process, for both the immigration process and life in general (oh YES, there is life after immigration!)

Never forget that Fedex and UPS go everywhere...quickly and the postal services of both countries go everywhere also...not so quickly.

I thought citizen process was 2 years... Being from UA, did you have difficulty sending through Fedex or UPS... quickly? He is in Shostka... What was your time frame on that part... Seriously I get so stressed trying to do all of this, and plan a wedding.. i mean how is anyone supposed to plan a wedding not knowing how long the process can take for the other person to get here?

  10. Thanks for all your help you guys. I am having him send me everything all at once.. so going over the checklist about a million times today to make sure we only have to do this mail business once. Also trying to figure out how to get it expressed.. he said it isn't possible from Ukraine, but I know I saw UPS trucks there the last time I was there... I'll let ya know how it goes :)
