  1. This is it! Call from the embassy asking for new medical and clearance, and he can have a visa!

His mom has been very ill since my last visit, so it's a tough situation. We are trying to figure out timing since he has been taking care of her. Even just the option for him to come here and go back for a while is a huge, gigantic relief.

I can't believe how fast it's all moving. He just has to redo the medical and get his two clearances. .. drop off the passport and buy a ticket. So crazy! It has been a crazy journey!

  4. I'm always surprised that in a forum where people are supposed to be helping each other, there's so much negativity. If people chose the side of positivity, the world could actually change for the better.

Fortunately, I wasn't annoyed at a response to something I started. But I don't see why people have to be so un-constructive. I mean, people are here for support and not a $hit storm.

  5. Why do some people think they know so much about the Moroccan Consulate when they didn't even have contact with them or been there?

Thanks, we just were issued an RFE, but we have to wait until it arrives in Morocco to find out what they want... hopefully after that, it'll only be a couple weeks.

I think two things... 1) the immigration process is emotionally charged, and most have a hard time separating the process from the emotion and 2) the consulate's job is to protect the interest of the United States and its citizens. We are still waiting for a waiver approval, and it would be easy to blame the consulate for putting us in this situation, but it wouldn't be true or accurate. It just is. The consulate was fair and followed the law with my husband. They have always been...

From what I can tell, I agree. I think in the past, people felt like that wasn't the case... but instead of moving forward or seeing how the consulate appears to try to be moving forward, it's easier for people to blame denials or administrative processing or whatever negative outcome on a giant institution.

  12. My husband is at the interview, it's midnight here and I'm pacing the house like a crazy person...inshAllah it will be good news!

  13. As expected, even though we hoped they would look the other way, we move on to the waiver process. On the plus, the interview went very well. So a bittersweet day.

Hopefully no longer than 6 months. But it all depends on how quickly USCIS moves.

If it weren't for the fact that he overstayed a visa several years ago, yes, he would have a visa today. But now we have to file a waiver.

Definitely, take the time to replenish yourself. Cries are good because they get toxins out of the system!
