As far as we know they said they are required to return back the K-1 petition to the National Visa Center. We don't know if they return the petition yet or not. They also mentioned that they will return back my passport which they have not. Our case still shows AP at CEAC website. They keeps saying my fiancée will need to petition her spouse after we get married. They are playing games with our life! That's how I feel.

I don't live in Barbados. I live in other Caribbean Island. US embassy control about 10 or more Islands in the eastern Caribbean.

They said: I regret to advise that the information has come to light that required that we return the K-1 petition to the national visa center. We will not be able to issue the K1 visa as we had initially indicated.

When I had the first interview the consular officer gave me a 221g form requested a joint interview with the petitioner. My fiancée and I attended the second interview and we were interviewed separately. After the stroke interview consular told us that we APPROVED and that I should mail back my passport to them as soon as I returned back to the country of my residence which I did. My fiancée email the consulate about 10days of mailing out my passport to confirm if they received my passport because our case status has not change from "Ready" to nothing. The response we received from the consulate was the visa is in review and they are expect to unable to issue the visa but the final determination as simply yet not been made. And that they realized that the K-1 visa time frame is running out. You will need to petition for your spouse after you married.

Hello everyone, As anyone K-1 visa once approved during the interview and being denied after? This is very hurtful!!! My fiancée and I can't get over it after all the stress the consular took us through. Our K-1 visa was once approved during the stroke interview and now being denied. We want to follow up the case and see where it leads. Any constructive advice would be greatly appreciated.

Pray very hard about your situation! I had similar problem like yours....We were told at the embassy that we approved and that I should send back my passport to them for visa issuance, about 10days later after they received my passport we began to worried because our case status has not change from "ready" to nothing. Finally, my fiancée email them for the update about our case status, to our surprise their response was the visa is in review and that they are expect to unable to issue the visa but the final determination as simply yet not been made and they also advice my fiancée in the email that she can certainly file a spouse visa after we get married. Now, the final decision has been made. We received the sad email from the consulate just yesterday, Visa Denied" without no explanation. No one to call unto due to government shutdown. I pray all goes well with your AP. Good luck!

Hello everyone, We desperately need an helpful/useful advice on our unheard case. I had my interview at US embassy in Bridgetown, Barbados on Aug 19 and all questions asked was answered correctly, at the end of the interview the consular officer gave me a white form requested a joint interview with my fiancée the petitioner. I attended the second interview with my fiancée on Sep 18. The interview was really tough! I was drilled beyond explanation. I and my fiancée was interviewed separately and every questions asked was answered correctly, at the end of the interview the consular officer told us and gave us visa approval letter that we APPROVED, and that I should return back to the country of my residence and then send back my passport and the visa approval letter to them as quickly as possible for visa issuance. I don't live in Barbados, I live in other island close to Barbados. I sent back my passport and the visa approval letter which they received on Sep 24, since then I have been checking my case status at CEAC website and our case status updated thrice. Case says: "Ready". We were kind of worried and my fiancée finally email the embassy to confirm if they received my passport and to enquire about our case status, here is the email response we received from the embassy today:
Ma’am,
I regret to advise that at this point, the visa is in review. We will be returning your fiancé’s passport to him during this process. Although we advised at the interview that it was our intention to approve the visa, we now expect to be unable to print and issue the visa. I regret the inconvenience and disappointment this news must bring. A final determination has simply not yet been made and we realize the timeframe for the K1 visa is running out.
You would certainly be able to petition for him as a spouse after you get married.
Respectfully,
Bridgetown Immigrant Visa Section

I strongly recommend you guys to get married and file for spouse visa. There's no exact time frame for both fiancé(e) and spouse visa processing. I have seen a lot of spouse petition approved before K-1 and there's a huge possibility of get denial for K-1. To me, spouse visa will be the best option. I wish you guys good luck.

Hello everyone, the consulate requested me to come to the interview with my fiancée current bank statement as part of requirements to back up affidavit of support. Our concern is my fiancée did not have money saved in her account, she have less than $200USD in her savings. But her income is pretty decent. What chances do we have? Are we not going to be screwed because she don't have money sitting down in her savings account? Help us please, we need you guys advice/clarification. Thanks to you all in advance.

Congratulations!!!! I'm happy for you guys.....I claim the same blessing/victory. Have a pleasant journey.

Hello everyone, My fiancée is in processing of filling out affidavit of support and we have a great concern about one particular question on that form. The question says that: I have on deposit in savings banks in the United States: $_______________
Would it be a problem if my fiancée put/answer (0) zero? Is it must to disclose the total amount in her savings account on the above mentioned form? She makes pretty good income. Please advice us.

My best regards to everyone for the quick response. Your advices are greatly appreciated. Once again, I thank you all...

Hello everyone, would it be a problem if beneficiary don't have money in saving account/bank statement at the time of K-1 official interview with the consular? Does beneficiary needs to present a job letter from employer? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Email the embassy and enquire if they have received your file from NVC. Remember to Include your full name as a beneficiary, your date of birth and your new case number that NVC gave you. Good luck.

Hello everyone, Please, I need a clarification on the forms. Which of the FORMS I need to signed and unsigned between DS-230 Part 1 & 2, DS-156 and 156K? The packet 3 instructions is hard to understand. I need a better explanation from you all.
Thanks in advance.

Hi guys, I live in St Kitts and I will be going through US consulate in Barbados for my interview. According to US consulate in Bridgetown Barbados, tomorrow will make 2 weeks they have sent out packet 3 and I haven't receive it. What can I do to resolve the issue of this long term expectation? Is there anything anyone can suggest me to do? Any input would be appreciated.

We would be grateful if anyone can clarify how to answer DS-157. Question #17: List all educational institutions you attend or have attended. Include vocational institutions but not elementary schools. Does secondary school included in the answer or just the higher institutions? And if someone didn't attend higher institutions, should we write NONE for answer? Thanks in advance

I anticipate each and everyone of you for the helpful advice. I thank you all.

Hi guys, how old the police report has to be? Would it raise a red flag if the police report obtained before packet 3 received? Does it matter if is already 2 months old by the time of the interview? Any input would be appreciated.
-
Call the embassy and let them know that you haven't receive the packet 3. If they will have to resend the packet just in case it has been lost in transit. And you may have to find out how long it takes to receive the regular post mail. Some mail takes 7-9 business working days to deliver.
-
I will advice you to go to the US consulate in person and pick up the packet 3. Don't wait too long, if you cannot receive the packet in the mail. Good luck...

We have been trying for so many times to check the status of our K-1 case at the NVC www.ceac.state.gov but we have not for once get through. All we normally get after inserting our new case number is this:
Application ErrorAn unexpected error has occurred while processing your previous request. The error has been reported to the site administrator; no further action is required. This site is managed by the Bureau of Consular Affairs, U.S. Department of State. External links to other Internet sites should not be construed as an endorsement of the views contained therein.
Can someone please explain what we need to do/or how to check case online at NVC?

We thank you all for your response, we feel a little bit relief. We hoping and praying that this AP won't last longer.
