Hello everyone
We are finally at the point of filing for citizenship.
We entered the country on 29th Oct 2009. So our 5 years is this October.
Our son is 17 as I file but will be 18 in September.
My question is do I need to file for him separately or will he become a citizen automatically when I do?

Hello and thanks for starting this thread.
I and my son can file this month but I have a question which I am hoping someone will know the answer to.
We came into the USA on 29th Oct 2009. Our son is 17 at the moment and will be 18 on the 24th Sept. As I can apply now do I need to file for him individually or will he get his automatically when I become a citizen?
Thanks in advance

Hi eveyone,
My husband, myself and our 16 yo son have now been in the States for just over 3 years. We want to go ahead with the naturalization process but both my husband and son are very dyslexic and worried about having to write a sentence under pressure.
We are from the UK and english is our only language (other than American of course)and were wondering if anyone else has had this as an issue?
Are there allowences made for such cases?
Any info would be greatly appreicated.
Thank you in advance.
Does 17 yo son file as he is 18 before our 5 years is up?

Thank you for that information. It is as I suspected, but appreciate knowing for sure.
