  1. Hi, please help me with this. what process do we need to undergo so i can get my baby. i gave birth to him last december 13,2010 in phils. i have not yet registered him in the us embassy in manila until now his father is a filipino and i am a usc. i now live in guam and i want to petition my baby, i read some article that i need to stay here in guam for 1 year before i can get my child. is that true? i am badly homesick and to wait for 1 year is just like hell but i also do want to bring my son here asap.

  2. Good Afternoon Sir/Mam. I want to tell you first my story then followed by my questions so that you can base your response to me on my story of my situation.

I born in Saipan on 1992 of November, Iam a US citizen thru birth, my parents are both Pilipinos, they stay in saipan coz of theyre work, they only have a working visa, and at 1993 of August of both parents decided to go back to philippines, me and my parents stayed for 19 years in philippines, October 2012 I by myself decided to go back in US to work, and now I'm here at Guam lived at my Aunt house.

If I married this year with my boyfriend using k1 visa and when I turned 21 is there gonna be problem when I petitions my parents? is the time and year to process my parents petition is just same when my status is single or married?

  3. No- the only way they two petitions affect eachother is that there are more people to financially support for the Affadavit of Support.

Thanks! that's the only problem, i dont think that my income is enough to petition 3 people at the same time. what should i do? if i did k1 petition first does my soon to be husband still be listed in my liability even he already got his own job here in guam before i petition my parents? please help me to decide on my actions do i need to petition first my parents?

  4. Hi! i would just like to know if K1 petition affects the petition of my parents in the philippines. i was born in saipan so i was a US citizen my parents are both filipino and only used to work there. we went back to the philippines when i was 3 y.o and stayed until i was 20 to study due to cheaper tuition fee. now i went back to guam and live with my aunt since october 2012. i heard that i can petition my parents when i turn 21 so i need to wait. now i want to have a k1 petition for my boyfriend in the philippines. will k1 petition or change of my surname when we get married affects the petition of my parents when the time i will file petition for them?

Hi there, I think we do have the same situation i am also still starting with the k1 process we havent submitted our I-129f package yet We do also have a son who is 2 y.o my girlfriend was born in the U.S but live and study in the philippines we are also not yet married and she left for guam last October 2012. she is 20 y.o and i am 22. hope we can share with our k1 experience.

  6. Hi i would just like to ask some questions to know if K1 visa is the one we needed and does this affects our petition. questions are in bullet form:

    1. The petitioner was born in saipan so she gained us citizenship her parents are both Filipino when she was 5 they went back to the Philippines they live in here until she was 20 because she studied in here due to cheaper tuition fee.

    2. She went to Guam with her aunt last October 2012 so she stayed in there in less than a year is k1 petition applicable?

    3. We do have a son that is 2 y.o now and live in for almost 3 years we did not yet marry because a change of surname might add complications on arranging her papers to go back to the U.S

    4. She is just new with her job is co-sponsorship honored in the philippine embassy?

    5. She was only 20 y.o and i am 22.

your answers would be a great help for us. Big thanks!

  7. The K1 is applicable if you are engaged and intend to marry.

Have you registered your son as a USC?

Co sponsorship can be hard in the Philippines, at least that is what I've understood after reading many posts on here.

Try and post these questions in the regional forum, I'm sure you will get tons of help there!

how can i post it on regional forum? having a hard time. :(
