  1. Hi all,

Well just as we thought our nightmare was over....... ahhhhh well you all know how that goes. ((((((((((((( My fiance visa is in AP now. They didn't clearly explained why this was the case and didn't ask for any additional documentation. She was given a paper with check mark next to "marriage/divorce cert" (she never married) I was married before to a non US citizen, I provided divorce cert with my petition (didn't marriage cert). When she asked what else is needed she was told nothing. The embassy kept her passport.

What do I do now, please, if you have any info share it :)

    Thanks

  2. Hello everybody,

Our petition was rec'd by NVC on 5/21/13. I called today to check if it left for Kiev, the woman told me that it is in administrative processing, I asked her if there was anything wrong, she could not tell me. I started panicing. Called them again, this other woman said that case is there and has not left for Kiev, did not mention anything about admin process.... should I be worried at this point??? or "admin processing" is the term they always use to explain that case has not left for the embassy?

    Thanks everyone!!!!

  3. Hi everyone again,

Just received paper copy of NOA2 today (super happy). They put my fiancee's first initial letter wrong, we didn't spell it out, just put the first letter. Is that a big issue, I will contact USCIS about it. It is correct on our forms that we submitted, so it's their error, should we be worried?

    Thanks as always :)

  4. Hi all,

    DS-156 and DS-230 Questions

My fiancee is filling out DS-156 form, and I have several questions. I did my best with the search, but didnt find answer I was looking for.

On DS-156 question 36 Has Anyone Ever Filed an Immigrant Visa Petition on Your Behalf? Naturally my answer was "No" because no one filed a petition for her before, she has been in the States 3 times on J1 visa. Then she has read somewhere that we should answer "Yes", because I filed for her. Also K-1 is non imigrant visa.

On DS-230 Question 35 " List dates of all previous visits to or residence in the United States. "

She told me today that on her G-325 form that I sent with the petition in October, one of the dates she entered "to" field 10/2008, but stamp in her passport is 9/18/2008, I believe that's OK since the form only asks for month and year, so she rounded off to the closest month. Is that the proper way to do this? She never overstayed her visa. I'm worried now, and don't want something like that to cause any issues.

  5. LOL

Well that's definitely comforting to read! Thank you.

I called and spoke to a tier-2 rep at USCIS. I kindly stated that my receipt number doesn't work in the system, so I'm just calling to see if there has been any update on my case. The guy spoke to me as if I was so stupid! He said "you called to check last Friday as well." I said, "Yes, but you say that as if my status cannot change from one day to the next!?" THAT ### TOLD ME "it clearly states that it will now take 60 days to process and you are calling after 4 business days". ggguuuhhh....what a jerk!

Don't pay attention to him. Clearly he doesn't give a sh*t. It can change from hour to hour, now I know for sure!!!!!! So keep checking!!!!!!!

  6. Hi everyone,

I'm look for people's opinion/experience with contacting their congressman for help. We are currently 196 days or 6 mo and 14 days, which is clearly past the stated 5 months goal, however, USCIS does not think so. I have already drafted the letter to send to my KY congressman (Rand Paul). My fiancee is worried that asking for congressman help may actually make things worse. Does contacting your congressman really helps? Or are we better off to just patiently wait for NOA2? I really feel helpless here, I want to do something to help our case, but there is just not much you can do. BTW any one contacted Rand Paul office before? are they helpful? outcome?

    Thanks everyone!

  7. It sounds like you might be torturing yourself! With the 4 to 8 month time this process takes checking multiple times a day might drive one to insanity. I know it nearly did my fiancée. I think she checked almost every day. (Though she doesn't want to admit it.)

    Good Luck!

    -K

Agree, i think i am going insane at this point, oe developing OCD, or both )))))

For the K-1 visas at least, I've seen reports here of 10 am, 1 pm, 4 pm, 9 pm and midnight (Pacific time, looking only at the CSC filers). I can't say that on any given day they'd do ALL of those, but I think it's safe to say that they update multiple times a day until midnight. So unfortunately, there's no way of knowing when your status might change! On the bright side, you always have something to look forward to! :D

    Thanks for info )))

  8. Hi all,

Just wondering how often during the day, USCIS sends NOA2 email/text and updates case status online. In other words what I want to know is that if I check the site in the morning, and it still says "initial review" is it possible for status to change during the day, anybody experienced this recently?

    Thanks!!!

  9. Well just called them again. Tier 1 rep just read to me the status from their website that I'm tired of seeing "Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)" blah blah blah, She actually asked me if I knew why my alien registration number was changed? I thought - REALLY???? You're asking ME????? I didn't say that :) Anyways this time asked to speak with a "tier 2" representative, and the guy tells me the same thing they told me 2 weeks ago, we're working on October 1st receipts, you petition is still within our processing time, nothing else. I'm just amazed!!!!
