  1. Huge congratulations on getting approved! Must be such a great feeling to be done with it all! Thankyou for the write up on your experience at the Consulate as well! I have my CR-1 interview coming up at the end of next month and it is so helpful to get an idea of what to expect seeing that we are at similar time frames. I am trying to have my interview rescheduled to an earlier date as well. I've been placed on a waitlist so fingers crossed it happens! Congratulations again and all the best!

  2. Hi all,

I have an interview coming up at the end of next month for CR-1. As I was reading through Consulate reviews I stumbled across this review from last year.

Was called over to booth 5 and spoke to another lady. She told me to put my four left fingers onto the scanner and she checked them off the computer She had paperwork in front of her. Asked me a few questions such as "Whats the longest time I have spent in the USA", "Have I had any problems with US Immigration". She then passed a form "Refusal Worksheet" to me and said I have been rejected due to the Section 221g guidelines. She explained to me the procedures to rectify this problem. My Petitioning Relative needs to provide a US Federal Tax Return(2011) to the US Consulate so further processing can proceed.

My questions to helpful VJers is -

    - Why would this Section 221g been issued at the interview stage and not during it's time at NVC?

    - My wife has filed her 2012 taxes. Should I be worried that it may not be processed in time for the interview.

My thoughts are that if NVC has completed my case than there should not be any issues with financials this late in the final stages at Consulate. If anyone has any helpful thoughts on this or similar experiences, it would be very much appreciated!

    Cheers,

    J

  3. Hello,

My case was closed on Mar 15 2013. I am currently waiting for an interview date. Does anyone know a rough estimate of when I should expect one? Also, how far in advance has the Sydney Consulate been assigning interviews at the moment. If anyone is in a similar timeframe would love to hear how it's progressing.

    Cheers

  4. I have heard you can have your medical without an interview date. I haven't booked my medical yet but I have gone and had my injections that I need so I will be prepared. I have heard the medical is only valid for 6-12 months and I just didn't want to pay all that money and then they won't accept it.

    M.

Yes I can understand that. I have had mine in the last 3 weeks so fingers crossed I will have an interview well before the 6 month timeframe on the medical is up. I will email the consulate and ask if they can confirm recieving or filing my results. Thanks again Austex.

  5. Hi, Everything has to go through the NVC. You send everything there and they even arrange the interview in Sydney. I just found that out because I emailed Sydney to ask if they can give me an interview time asap. They emailed back and said the the NVC organize the interview time. :-( so I have to wait and be patient.

Thanks Austex, that clears things up for me. At least we don't have to wait for all paperwork to be sent back to Sydney before being assigned an interview date. I have one more question that you may be able to help me with - Once I had a case number assigned, I had my medical done. The doctor said he forwards the results on to the consulate. Is this fine to do so without an interview date or request for medical results. Would the consulate disregard these results? Thankyou once again your response would be much appreciated!

  6. Hi all,

I am a bit confused with different informetion that I am reading on the NVC website and Sydney consulte website. I recieved an email last week from NVC requesting a DR,with that being my DS-230 1 and 2 and supporting documents. I follwed all instructions and sent my birth cert, marriage cert, police check, passport page and two photographs from Australia to NVC. Why does the Sydney consulate website say that said documents have to be sent there once case is closed at NVC. Does the NVC arrange an interview for me like it says on their website or does the Sydney consulte arrange it. Any help would be much appreciated!
