  1. Which branch are you with? I remember my husband telling me that the navy and usmc does not allow wives to go with them to Japan unless he is E-4 and above or something like that. Not sure if I am remembering this correctly though.

Sorry for the late reply...I'm an E-7...we will have our medical tomorrow...should be no issue there

I was reading through the INA and the USCIS website and they do not specifically give a timeline of how soon you can apply.

Would you happen to have an idea or are the time requirements just thrown entirely out the window?

I'm not sure of the time line....still researching a little

  2. We would chat on FB atleast 2 hours a day. Sometimes all night long. I think the 2 years we were a part we maybe missed 7 days total and that was becuase she was traveling to visit family.

I would take step by step photo's of things I would be doing like cooking etc. and send them to her. She would send me photo's of our daughter and things she was doing. Skyping was hit or miss..I would get so frustrated trying to skype..The internet connection in the PI is horrible.

Somedays the chat conversations would get repetitive but we still would spend the time at it.

Hang in there. The wait to reunite is so worth it! My wife and daughter have been here for two months and its the greatest thats ever happen to me.

  3. Apparently they do another background check and then they send something to Washington DC for approval (told to me by the consulate in Costa Rica last month) it usually only takes 24-48 hours. Your embassy could be lazy or just really busy or maybe it's not complete yet... don't make any travel arrangements until you have that visa in your hands. . You just need to wait. I just went through this. I know it's annoying.

Thanks. I did not know they do another back ground check. I was thinking it was the medical results causing the delay. If we do not get her visa soon I cant buy the ticket until March 1st due to bills etc.

  4. My wife past her Sputum test and finished up her medical on the 27th of January and we re-scheduled her interview on the 3rd of February. Her interview went well and the Consul told her that it was not a problem that SLEC has not sent the Medical results and told her she was approved and kept her Passport. Its been 8 days and we are still showing AP on the CEAC website. I know 8 days is not that long and I am sorry for those that have been stuck in AP....I am trying to get information for planning purposes etc. and see when we might get her VISA and buy the plane ticket. Anyone have the same experience and could you share your thoughts and the outcome?

  5. My wife had her interview and was approved! I want to thank everyone that contributes to this forum. We could not have been approved with out your support and guidance...I don't know who owns this sight but it has changed so many lives. THANK YOU!

I'm relieved...this process is the most stressful thing I have ever been through. Here are some thoughts on this process that I have learned...

    1. Pray and have faith. If you truly love each other, God wants you to be together.

    2. Stay positive with the one you love...even through bad news...we did not do a good job on this one....I realize now that it makes everything more difficult to get through. My wife had to have a sputum test which delayed us two months...that was difficult on both of us...

    3. Send the kitchen sink...make every effort to prove a bonafide marraige...lol...my wife had two interview questions...they asked for her name and date of birth. That was it. We also had our crba for our daughter approved...maybe that helped...I sent every western union reciept...pics of us having fun together as well as wedding photos..I made a collage of us laughing and making funny faces to the camera....lol...I sent life insurance paperwork with my wife as benificiery....I think my wife was disappointed a little...she worked really hard...I'm very proud of her.

    4. Follow and make sure you completely understand the guides on this forum...I'm sure I have asked a lot of dumb questions on this forum....although there are no such thing as dumb questions....just people that are to scared to ask. RESEARCH RESEARCH RESEARCH!

Thanks to everyone! I will continue to be on this forum even when my wife is a citizen...

  6. VJer's,

I have a load of thoughts and questions running through my head. Maybe because of nerves etc. My wife passed her Sputum Culture test and will finish her immunizations on the 29th next week. I called last night and rescheduled her interview for Feb 3rd!!! I will list the questions below...

Is that enough time for St. Lukes to get the paper work to the embassy?

When I scheduled the interview...They said my wife was not in the system...Does that mean that they don't have her paper work from the NVC? Original interview was for December 9th 2014.

I used her new passport number with married name to book the new interview and I think I used her older passport number with maiden name for the petition...Is that why she was not in the system?

DS-260 was completed online will we need to print a copy? The lady I spoke with mentioned it over the phone like they are having some issue with DS-260's not being completed.

Fee's...What fee's will we pay at the interview?

Thanks..Thats all I can think of for now.

    Cheers!

  7. Neither of the U.S. numbers work? Weird, the have been having phone issues, wonder if they are switching systems. The top one is the old number and the lower one (703) is supposedly a new number.

I just saw the 703 numbers. I will use them. Thanks a bunch!

  8. She has to come back on the date that SLEC setup for her to get the immunization.

As for who to call, here are some contact numbers:

I know she must complete the immunization. I was surprised we have to wait a week to do so. Thanks for the information. I will get a calling card so I can call the embassy tonight. The US number does not work it seems.

  9. My wife just received the good news about her sputum test. All was negative. I am trying to find out who to call to reschedule the interview. Anyone know what I need to do? Also they told my wife to come back on the 29th of January for immunizations. Is that normal? I thought she would be able to go tomorrow.

  10. If SLEC determines a person needs to complete the sputum test, they will notify the embassy and cancel your interview. However St. Luke's will not reschedule the interview, it is best you call to do this after the medical is complete (calling may net you a better date in this situation ;) )

Thanks...My wife is going for day two of the Sputum exam....We had hoped to be together by Christmas. Our interview was on the 9th of December. Just another bump in the road I suppose..hopefully all goes well in 2 months.

  11. That is awesome for you! Nvc has been a nightmare for a lot of us :( I did get to send AOS and IV together because I had an attorney and that used to be a good thing, My original scan date was 8/8 but on 9/30 after 55 days I got a checklist for the AOS where my attorney had left a question completely blank and my income was wrong.. I was so angry! well got it ''fixed'' and resend the AOS and got a scan date of 10/3.. Going on my 6th month at nvc and I'm still afraid of getting another checklist on the same thing cause I just don't trust my attorney anymore....

During our Visa Journey I have seen that most lawyers seem to be a waste of money and cause more delays. Lawyers only care about the money your paying them. I spent hours and hours going over this helpful website and our own paper work. We also said alot of prayers.

I feel bad for those stuck in NVC hell. Hopefully these case completes will start speeding up to an acceptable level and we will all be united with our loved ones sooner rather than 60 days over and over. Good luck to you Qbanita!

  12. Case Complete! Got an email from the NVC this morning!!!!!

    Dear Sir/Madam,

All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center's processing of your case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified.

The applicant should NOT make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the US Embassy or Consulate General has issued a visa.

The US Embassy or Consulate General may require additional documentation at the time of the interview.

    Sincerely,

    Director

    National Visa Center

  13. Quick question in regards to I-864...I did not fill in N/A on the parts that do not apply..I sent in my AOS package a while back and was wondering if I should go ahead and send the I-864 again with everything N/A'd or should I wait and see what happens...Will I be delayed either way? I am sending my IV package today and was thinking of sending the N/A'd version of my I-864 with it...Is that a good idea?
