  1. This past thursday I received the following email from USCIS:

    "Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

Your Case Status: Post Decision Activity
On June 20, 2013, we mailed you a notice that we have approved this I129F PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). ........."

The very next day I get this:

    "Application Type: I129F , PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)

    Your Case Status: Initial Review
On June 21, 2013, your address was changed relating to the I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E) that you filed."

Now sometime last week I did an online address change as I am no longer at the address when I filed. We got the NOA1 in the first week of March, so it seems a little early to get approval (just over 100 days) but I've read all the other stories about quicker processing times as of late. I just don't understand how it could go back to initial review after it has been approved.

Has anyone else had this happen?

EDIT: We sent our application to the California service center.

  2. We were excited too when I got the text that our case was approved yesterday. We were also March filers. I checked online and it said it was approved.

THEN 20 minutes ago, today, I got another update saying it's back in initial review.

We were so excited about it moving forward that my fiance gave the two month notice at her work that she needed to give this morning. Because we figured there shouldn't be any more than two months left. And to now have our case put back in "initial review" after we were informed that it was approved yesterday?????? I am so freaking pissed!!!!! AND they sent the notice like 25 minutes after they stop taking calls. !@#^&*&^%#@#$%^&*&@@#&*()(^%$

I don't know how I am going to break this to her.....

  3. Greetings,

I am currently preparing the I-129F package to obtain a K-1 Visa for my fiancé and I have a question about residency. I'm an American citizen currently living and working in China (3+ years). She is Ukrainian. I will be in China for 1-3 more months (3 is the maximum) and then I will move back to the US. I would however like to get this process started now. The issue is I don't have a "domicile" in the US currently. So I don't know what address to put in Part B item 14: "Address in the United States where your fiancé(e) intends to live."

Of all the answers I have found most said they used their Mom's address which for me has been my mailing/tax filing address since living abroad, however we do not intend to move to that city or state. Most replies also say to just amend the address later. Looking at the timeline, prior to receiving the 2nd NOA I will have ample proof of a US domicile. Including written confirmation from my company of my job/salary in the US, bank accounts and a permanent address. Except for the permanent address I have the other proof now.

My questions are for the I-129F:

    1. Can I just use my Mom's address for item 14 and amend it later?

    2. Should I spell out my situation in the petition cover letter? I.E. Living in China, no current US perm address (only mailing), moving to US shortly, will amend address etc....

    3. Is there some other path I should take? Will this just complicate things? I really don't want to waste any more time then I have to given the overall waiting times.

    Thank you!
