My mother who has been living in Belgium for the past 30 years went to her interview on January 8 and was told she was missing the police certificate from Vietnam. She was born there and lived for 20 years before emigrating to Belgium.
NVC did send a letter after I sent the package that even though the police certificate from Belgium was provided, that they would also need the Vietnamese one. My mother went to the Vietnam embassy in Belgium but they were unable to help. When I called NVC, they just said to send a letter of explanation.
My mother explained that she tried to obtain it and that I sent a letter of explanation. Interviewer insisted it on the certificate and not to come back without it.
My aunt in Vietnam went to the local office and she was told since my mother left so long ago they do not have anything to provide. The coffee money did not help.
Has anyone ran into a similar situation? Is there anything else I/my mother can provide?
