  1. Hi! Before I start my inquiries here i just want to thank you everyone here who helped me with detailed and informative facts on my K-1 visa journey especially to Hank...

And now I want to be enlightened as I dont want to have problems re entering USA using my Advance Parole as I will travel to Philippines by January 2015. My conditional greencard is still on process..I did try searching and come up with this specific questions though I know these may have been asked many times here. :) Just want peace of mind...

1.) How long am I allowed to stay in the Philippines using Advance Parole? 3 weeks, 3 months, 6 months or I could stay as long as my AP is not expired?

2.)My name on the plane ticket and my passport name should match? Passport is still in single name.

3.) Should not it be a problem or raise a red flag re entering USA even if i have AP because I filed my AOS after 6 months I arrived here? In other words I didnt file AOS right away within the 3 months.

4.) What other documents should I bring aside passport, plane ticket, EAD/AP card? I've read to bring marriage certificate but should I need another paperwork aside from EAD/AP card or is it enough?

Your answers are highly appreciated.. Thank you!

  2. Hi! Anyone could help me here or have been in the same situation before.. Arrived in the US Oct. 15 and

went to SSA office after 2 weeks to apply SS number... Got the SS card after 7 business days.. And then

married on Nov. 23, went to SSA office again Dec. 3 for the change of name... I waited but I never get anything

'til we decided to go back on Dec. 26 to follow up. The clerk just said its pending and that she asked me

again for the documents. So now (Jan. 18) I am still waiting and don't have it yet. Can please anyone suggest

what to do or whats happening why it is taking so long? Thank you!

  4. Thank you everyone......... Special thanks to you Hank..... Been following your

posts here ever since we became a member here..:) You are so nice here and

very helpful to everyone whose undergoing the process.....

TO flory120, yes you need a notarized parental consent, bring parents ID/s...But I would

suggest bring at least your mom when you have your CFO, so you wont come back for

    another session of counselling...

  5. Honestly, been worried before about the CFO thing and even more worried about it than my embassy interview (Sept. 12). So, had mine finally last September 4 after passing my st. lukes medical (sept. 2) and it all went good.... Excellent seminar and I learned a lot from it... In fairness to the CFO office, personally i have understood their goals why they are conducting the seminar, our counselor (Ms. Thea Rabe) was excellent in empowering us about the seminar... Great and very professional.. I like her.. We were treated professionally. And i hope there would be more like her in the CFO office so people wont have misconception why Philippines is conducting such seminar (so one can exit Phils.). Also, I WAS NOT ASK FOR ANY PAPERS when we had one on one counselling but I DID BRING ALL MY DOCUMENTS, exact copy and originals ready for my interview too except for requirements they posted on their website...

Know everything about your fiance and you will never have a problem... And for me, if you attend the CFO seminar and you know your relationship is real and genuine, then according to our counselor, not their job to hold a person form exiting Philippines. So, nothing to worry about...

Also, you can have the seminar in Manila and have the sticker in Cebu (i verified this) :)

Good luck to those will get the CFO.. And have fun and enjoyable seminar...

To Hank and DAvenRoxy, thank you for the quick replies... I appreciate it.

Was curious and wanted to know coz most here talks about the minimum or least

period of time for medical before the interview.. Thank you again...

  7. Hi! I just want to know if anyone here who currently residing in southeastern Massachusetts... Thought of

knowing someone who lives there as I am arriving hopefully October in MA,USA. And would even be glad if we

remain in contact before my arrival and become friends.....Thank you!

  8. I guess you filed an I-130 petition then, which is one of the form the US citizen files for a spouse already in the US (plus the affidavit of support). The adjustment of status form is filed by the non-US citizen. So you should answer yes to that question because you did file for an alien wife in the past.

You really have no documents about it? You could put at least their names, but it would be answering only partially to the question.

Instead of putting in a a#,would i be able to put in a SS# and the year it was filed? Would this cause the I-129F to be denied?

    thankyou

  9. It's missing part of your story because it's not clear. What do you mean by "I did the same for them"?

Did you file any immigration documents for your ex-wife and her children?

Yes, i did file immigrations documents, although i forget now which ones ( adjustment of status i think ) . They all became legal perm residents, and the ex gained her citizenship.

So i did not help them gain visa's, but filed after they were already here in the states. So not really sure how to respond to question 11, since i have no A# on them now, and dont even remember where we sent the documents to, or their exact dates.

    thanks.

  10. Back in 2003 i got married to a woman who was already in the US legally, but on a visa overstay.(she already had come here on a visa that she had before we met.) We divorced, and now we have no contact. I then then brought her two minor children here and did the same for them. (they also had obtained prior to me being in the picture)

Now i am looking to Petition a I-129F, and not sure how to answer Question #11, as i have no records or anything left from that time.

Should i answer No, or Yes based on my prior marriage?

    Thankyou,

  11. Good day everyone..

I am new here, just got engaged yesterday while in the Philippines. I have a question about the K-1 fiance visa.

I would like to know if i can begin the process of applying for this visa, then when my fiance obtains this visa,

if i can return to the Philippines and get married, and have her return with me. OR, "Must" she get married with me

in the USA, since she is traveling to the US on the K-1 visa. She has a strong desire to be married in her homeland,

and i have a difficult time obtaining time off from work which is why i am thinking about doing thing this way,

which would allow us to be together in the USA in a shorter time period, as opposed to me waiting till next year when

    i receive more vacation time.

    Thankyou in advance,

    William
