  1. Just going through same experience- my new social security card took a couple of weeks to arrive in the end. I also had a delay at the drivers Centre for a week until the SS card and immigration status were checked- I would wait until you have your new SS card before going to apply for licence, to avoid having to make an extra trip. Finally...yes as I understand it the insurance document is just for the car.

Good luck with it all, I know how you feel- it can all be very frustrating and confusing at times.

  2. When I called the Embassy about mine, they said it usually takes 6 weeks from the moment they receive your forms. It actually ended up taking 5 weeks for mine. Take a look at my timeline for dates.

You should definitely just be patient, they have a lot of forms to get through and yours will come up soon! Try to keep yourself busy while you're waiting, read up on the interview and make sure you have everything prepared smile.png

Thanks Joanne and Adam - that's really helpful and reassuring - what interview date were you given?

  3. Hi

Can anyone tell me how long I should expect to wait before hearing when my London interview date will be, for K1 visa.

I received my packet 3 on May 3rd

I returned my forms to London by special delivery on May 7th - including the DS2001 and cover letter to say that I have all required documents

I had my medical on May 10th and I know that the embassy have received the results as they were able to confirm this when I phoned to pay my fee on May 17th, however they were unable to confirm they had received my other paperwork.

I am just wondering how long it usually takes to then receive a letter with the interview date? I am a little anxious having already experienced a 6 week delay when USCIS apparently 'mislaid' our file before sending on to NVC!

Should I contact the embassy again or keep waiting?

Would love to hear from anyone currently going through this stage of the process

    Thanks

  4. It's been almost 4 weeks since our NOA2, but our file is still not at the NVC. On the NOA2 it says our file is being forwarded directly to the Consulate, but both the Consulate and NVC told us that it has to go through the NVC. But when we called USCIS yesterday, they insisted that it's on its way to the Consulate. It's ridiculous!

I think it always says on the NOA2 letter that it goes to the consulate but it definitely has to pass through NVC first. Good luck and hope you don't have to wait too long

  5. My I-130 was approved on March 23,2012.... BUT still nothing at NVC yet!! keep calling, and I sent them a scanned copy of my NOA2 too!! They still tell me to wait. Anyone in the same boat as me? It would make me feel better if I wasn't the only one that's been waiting a month :(

We received NOA2 on 4thMarch from Vermont after waiting 200 days. We then waited for file to reach NVC - after many calls backwards and forwards to NVC and USCIS we were told it had gone to 'quality review' at USCIS but nobody could actually tell us what that meant and neither the USCIS or NVC seemed to be able to give us any useful information or tell us where the file might be. We were repeatedly told conflicting things by different people then my fiancé rang NVC on 19th April and out of the blue was given the case number and told they were processing the file- 46 days after NOA2 approval! I have yet to hear it has been sent to London

  6. Prepare for GMAT and Toefl. We need both :)

  7. Hello :)

for what I heard, the visa specialist could help you, they might know where your case is right away.

I also received approval from the USCIS on March 4th, by March 8th I had my hardcopy of the NOA 2.

Then on March 23rd, I received a letter from the NVC with a case number and some information.

Seems like you need to contact them and request information.

    Visa Specialist: 202-663-1225

Good luck!! and congrats on your approval :)

    Hi Brens47

Thanks for your help - we have tried calling the USCIS and NVC but can get no info , so my fiancé will try the number you have given. Hopefully some good news!
