Does anyone knows if I get a receipt number for the I-90?

Should I send I-90 form first and wait for some receipt notice and include with N400?

Another question is if I should put the "wrong date" at the N400 form, since it is the date that is there.

The date they put there is 10 days earlier than what it should be.

About a month ago I receive my new 10 year green card with an error at the "Resident Since" date.

I called USCIS and the person I spoke informed me that I have to send my card along with a I-90 form to get it corrected. This wouldn't cost me anything since it is USCIS mistake but the problem is that this will delay my N400 process in about 7/8 months since they are working on forms submitted at the beginning of august 2015.

My question is if I can send my N400 now so I don't have to wait all this time? I would submit at the same time both forms (N400 and I-90).

Any help will be very appreciated.

I see. You don't understand because you are admittedly trying to "make up for their flawed system." While I agree that the system likely needs adjusting, your attidute and actions to try to "fix it" are part of the problem.

Anectodal evidence from your experience means nothing. I'm still not going to suggest to anyone to go early just because they can or just because it's a way to make up for months of waiting. Seeing this response, I regret passing along my experience in this regard, as it was not my intention to imply it is OK to just go whenever you want.

If you truly are advocating that people alter their appointments to suit their best interests you are contributing to the longer wait times for all of us. Know that. Have a good evening and good luck with the rest of your journey.

Isn't alter your appointment to suit your best interest what you just did when you went earlier? As contributing to the longer wait times I disagree that the early walk-in causes any longer waiting time. Anyway darling, let's just agree to disagree!!! I didn't mean to single you out in any way at all. My plea to not take advantage of the system was for anyone reading the thread, just like I stated in my previous post.

I'm glad that you had a 15 minute wait. Good for you. I also said that it would likely vary from center to center. We waited almost two hours and were happy that we were able to take care of the situation before it became less manageable.

I'm sorry that you disagree otherwise. If people continue to take advantage of the situation there will be delays.

Your ideal does not make it the ideal situation for everyone. Try to understand that.

I understood what you were saying but I disagree and that's quite OK we don't have to agree to everything. The same way you were free to express your opinion here I am too. We all are.

Again, I don't believe this early walk-ins can be a problem because the way it is done it makes up for their flawed system. It's been working fine this way and if there was a problem they would have changed. But again, this is just my humble opinion and we will have to agree to disagree on that one.

About my wait, I didn't wait 15 minutes. I didn't have to wait at all. I was in and out in a total of 15 minutes. I guess the Philadelphia location it isn't that busy huh?

As far as if one's reason is legit and it deserves a walk-in or not it's not fair for us to judge because it benefits ourselves. Some might say your reason (or mine) isn't a good reason for an early walk-in. You say your walk-in is legit and necessary but of course we are going to say our reasons are legit and necessary because it favors ourselves but who are we to say what is important and what is not important in someone's life. What I'm trying to say is if they take one person's walk-in with no questions asked, based on our own judgment in what is worth, legit and necessary or not, well then they will have to take all early walk-ins as they do. It has to be equal to everyone to be fair. And that's what they are doing.

Not sure if I agree with you Mike-Ale. Like you I had my own personal reasons to go earlier too I'm not get into what was my reason because it's personal and I believe it's not anyone's place to judge anyone's reasons. But I believe mine wasn't less important (or more) than yours. But anyway both times I did my early walk in and the place was completely empty. First time I was the only "customer" there and today same thing. This time there was only one person arriving when I was leaving. I was in and out in less than 15 min. So, I don't think the fact that you or me going earlier messed up anyone's else appointment.

In my opinion their system is really flawed. They sent you a letter with a random date and hour without giving you any options. The ideal would be a system where you could schedule when you can make it. A couple of options of different days or hours it would be enough. Most of us are adults with jobs and very busy lives and chances are that most of the time people can't make the date they give to them and that's why they don't make a fuss about people going earlier because it makes it easier. Easier than maybe having a whole schedule procedure where people could individually choose a date and much easier than rescheduling every single person that can't make it and have even more work, sending new letters with new date and the new date might not even work again.

Anyway, I really believe that having their doors open and making walk-ins easy and welcome for everyone facilitates for everyone specially them.

But again, that's just my opinion. ?

While this is all fine and good, I want to be clear. We went early because Ale is 9 months pregnant and her due date is literally the day before the scheduled biometrics. For those reading, PLEASE DO NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE of what we have said in this thread. We went early out of legitimacy and necessity. The reason that we all wait so long during these procedures is because people are taking advantage of certain situations. Don't go early just because "you can". Go when they tell you to. Make eveyone's life easier.

Bio apptmt rescheduled. I had my baby on 5/19, waiting for response and new date

I ended up going on your original appointment date. I did an early bio today.

I agree with Mike-Ale. I did mine today, one week earlier than the scheduled date and they never even mentioned (neither I did) that I was early. I did the same thing 2 years ago for my AOS and it was the same thing. No problems at all.

For what it's worth, we went in a full week and a half early and had no problems. The person who checked the paperwork/gave a number at the front desk didn't even blink nor care that the scheduled date was later. Now, this could mean the person actually taking the biometrics data may have a different idea. She didn't... however, my wife (getting biometrics taken in this case) is very, very pregnant, so they were kindly sympathetic to our wanting to get things taken care of early. That being said, my impression (and this would likely differ from venue to venue) is that they honestly don't care. You should be fine.

Somehow the list got messed up. My bio appointment isn't there anymore. I think someone updated not using the most recent list.

Anyway I will re-enter my bio original appointment date and my early bio date too.

Are they okay with that? I heard some centers are strict.

I'd normally go on a scheduled day but I am 36 weeks pregnant (high risk pregnancy) and have tons of dr appointments every week so I should prob try to go on a random day as well. Just don't want to get kicked out of there to come back when my letter says since it's 65 miles from home.

Yes, I had no problems. I am an hour and a half away from where we suppose to go get it done, so it was kind of risky but I was upset with a situation. I had to go twice because my first fingerprints didn't work the first time. The first time I went on the scheduled date and it was totally empty. I was the only "customer" there. Same thing the second time, totally empty. They didn't even mentioned the fact that I was early. I just gave my papers and said "I'm here for fingerprints." Both times I went were lunch time. I wouldn't go as soon as t because usually gets more people.

Almost the same for me, Carney. I'm 12 days from hitting the 30 day period. It is very frustrating.

So it appears VSC is taking a very long nap right now...all these NOA1s seem to be coming from CSC.

I really don't know. We did it just in case, I'm not expecting it to make a difference but I'm hoping it does somehow.

We sent our package on 4/15/2015 using Priority Mail throught the USPS. It was delivered and signed for on 4/17/2015. Our check hasn't been cashed nor have we recieved an NOA1 either....:/

Donna & Paul, the info about the H-1B visas is correct. You can check it at the USCIS official website. I found out when I was checking their official website about some kind of inquiry I could do. Then I googled and found more info on google.

I wish I knew this before. I would definitely sent our package before April 1st.

We mailed ours the 17th using Express Mail. It was delivered & signed for on the 20th. Our check hasn't been cashed either. I'm am not the most patient person when it comes to this visa stuff ...

It was actually suggested in another ROC thread here ... in hindsight I'm glad we used that suggestion. I'm also glad there's a bit of delay since it will give us the time to drive & get settled in our new location. We hope you don't have to cancel your holiday. Maybe you can contact a tier 2 and get your biometrics rescheduled once you receive the letter & if your appt date conflicts with your travel date.

CarlaDave, that's a good suggestion. Last time we used USCIS for my AOS I went to take my Biometrics earlier the very next day I got the letter. I'm considering doing the same again.

We also wrote "Attention: I-751 petition to remove conditions of status" on our envelope.

Still haven't received anything since the day we sent it.

Carney, if they do some kind of sorting based on what's written on the envelope it might help you guys but if they open the packages as soon as they touch it according to the arrival dates it might not make any difference. Who knows how they do it?

But I believe the delay is duo the high numbers of H1-B visas applications they received starting on April 1st.

CarlaDave, that was clever. I didn't write the form number on my envelope I guess that could help if they do some kind of sorting before opening it. But I still think it will take longer than other months considering the huge numbers of applications they received last year and will probably receive this year.

Good that it won't cause too many problems for you guys.To us this delays is just bad in all accounts. My green card expires in June, so I need the NOA1 to make my new drivers license that expires at the same day my green card expires and we were thinking about to go visit my family in Brazil at the end of May, but if by the end of May I haven't done my Biometrics I'm just not going.

We wrote on the outside of ours in BIG black letters something along the lines of : ATTN: I-751 APPLICATION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS

I suppose filing in April is a good things and bad ... good since it gives us time to get to our new residence ... bad since we're moving to our new residence so we don't know when we'll get our NOA1 & biometrics letters.

Also, I just read that the number you use to track your status is on the biometrics letter & not the initial NOA1.
