  1. Hi,

My husband (USC) and I are living and working overseas in Seoul. We qualify to file for my US citizenship under the 319b expedited naturalization, and have done so in September 2012. Since we are free to choose any interview location, we chose Fairfax, VA, the location that is known to be familiar with the 319b process. It is also a doable driving distance from my husband's parents' house in North Carolina.

The request for Fairfax was clearly indicated on the cover letter that was drafted and submitted by my lawyer. I received the interview notice last week for an appointment on February 5th. However, the interview location is set to be in Hartford, Connecticut. I have absolutely no clue as to why that is...except for the fact that we used to work in Connecticut prior to our move to Seoul. I would be fine with this location except for the fact that it doesn't hold same-day interview and oath. The curious thing is that the letter says, "if you cannot keep this appointment, please contact the USCIS office address listed below." And the listed address is actually the Fairfax USCIS....

My lawyer immediately put in an email inquiry to the Fairfax office, but we are still waiting to hear back. As you can probably imagine that I am eager to sort things out, and I am quite concerned that this location confusion might delay things drastically. I'm just wondering if anyone here has had similar experiences, and was able to change the location to Fairfax without much sweat? If yes, how did you go about handling it?

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

    Sincerely,
