    TOEFL exam due on Dec 7 at 9am… Please pray for me.. I hope I'd pass that! Meanwhile…it's been rainy here in Las Vegas.. It's soooo cold to go outside!!

      Yeah I still have not found any job yet :|. The job market is quite tough nowadays. My wife got her driving license just last Friday but she is still very scared to drive (she actually doesn't like driving). US is a lot more boring than I thought... If I knew this, I would have just stayed in Singapore. At least the foods there are good.

    Hi Leizz, just saw your conversation with Apalis. Just curious, since you've already got your SSN, you can still apply for job without the green card right? Because during port of entry, the officer told me green card gonna take 6-10 months to arrive. Oh well. Btw, can I check my green card status on USCIS ELIS website? Thanks! I'm pretty bored at home too, don't have driver license yet, still waiting for my SSN. GOVERNMEBT shutdown sucks.

      Yeah, you can apply for job with your SSN but don't be discouraged if you can't find any. The job market is quite tough apparently.

Glad to hear that you received your green card, my wife is still waiting for her card -_-, at least my wife was able to apply for her state ID with her passport last week so we probably won't need the green card for now. Have you started learning to take the driving license test yet ?

      Yeah I don't know about that either :/. When I told my parents that my wife's green card will be arriving in 1-6 months they were also very surprised since they know somebody who got the card in less than 1 month since their arrival. My wife also complained to me it's quite boring here compared to Singapore :/. She doesn't have any driver license yet so at the moment she can't go anywhere :/.

      Hi Leizz, great to hear back from you, my wife is still doing ok. She's just a bit bored now that she has to stay at home and can't do anything till her greencard arrives. The custom officer told us that it will take 1-6 months for her green card to arrive. How about you ? Got your green card yet ?

    Last day at work in SG has ended... Now Im officially resigned.. Packing up my things now to go back to Phils and prepare for my US flight! =))

      Have fun in SG and good luck with your new life in the US. I submitted my resignation last week and it definitely wasn't easy :(. My boss was very nice. I will definitely miss him :(.

    18days and Im going back to Philippines,leaving Singapore for good... and 36days more before my flight to Los Angeles on Sept 20th!! My husband and I cant be more and more excited each day!! =)

    Hi Apalis, I was reading the interview review from another vj member, she mentioned that on her interview, she was asked for an Ongoing Salary Certificate of her husband (sponsor). I wanted to know if you prepared Ongoing Salary Certificate (I guess it's kinda like employment letter) from yourself and joint sponsor for the interview? I only have joint sponsor's IRS transcripts and pay subs. Thanks!

      Don't forget to bring your husband's bank statements (both US banks and Singapore banks)...

      They will definitely ask for it.

      Ah I see if you did not have any problem before with the NVC, don't worry about it then. I will just go by what they told you. Yes, definitely prepare the school certificate to certify that he's a student. Don't worry about it. Looks like you already have all the needed documents. Good luck !!

      So yeah, scholarship = no tax return needed, fellowship or get paid for teaching/stipend, etc... = tax return is definitely needed since those are counted as income.

      If your husband doesn't have any tax transcript, you need some kinds of school certificate to prove that your husband is currently in school. You also need to a print out from the IRS website indicating that your husband's pay or scholarship is not counted as income. I hope that your husband is currently on scholarship. If your husband got some kind of fellowship of which he got paid for teaching, you must file tax.

      I only brought a photocopy since my joint sponsor got it close to the interview date and we didn't have enough time to have it it mailed over here. It should be ok. Don't worry about it. When is your interview ?

    Hi Leizz, what time did they deliver your VISA last time ? Also, how many days from your interview did you receive your VISA ? I just want to plan my time off accordingly to wait for the VISA. Thanks.

      My wife and I plan to fly out on the Sept 26th :D. We booked the ticket already. Can't wait to leave this place :D.

      I did bring the Employment letter for me and for the joint sponsor but they didn't ask for it. If you can, please bring them. If not don't worry about it. Paystub, IRS and bank statement should be more than enough.

      I don't think they care about the balance your sponsor or joint sponsor have on the bank, they mainly want to check to see whether your sponsors receive their paycheck at a regular interval or not. So please don't worry, as long as you have those bank statements, you should be ok.

      No passport yet :(. We are still waiting. This waiting is killing us :(.

      I just called Aramex, they told me that the Consulate normally notifies you by email when they are done preparing your visa and pass them to Aramex. Did you receive any email from the U.S. Consulate prior to the delivery ? Thanks. (Sorry for being too paranoid :">)
