Tomorrow is hopefully going to be a wonderful day. We leave China and my wife joins me after a long visa journey.
A little help though is needed.
Inadvertently, we may have packed and shipped her chest x-rays she needed for her medical. Does anyone know if these are needed at the point of entry which will be Detroit? I have searched most of the available websites ie:state .gov and uscis but cannot find anything that says she absolutely needs the films. ANY HELP TONIGHT WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.........

HELP ANYONE... It seems during our packing we may have accidentally shipped my wife's x'rays to the USA.
Can anyone tell me if they are needed or if the medical reports will be enough. Have looked everywhere on USCIS website and searched state.gov to no avail. We are flying out tomorrow at 4pm... Any help will be greatly appreciated

Thanks a bunch, it was a long journey and now its finally over.
The process that she was expecting never happened. We expected her to be there at least two to three hours and the entire process took only one hour. The questions were as follows:
1. Have you been to the United States before?
2. What does your husband do for a living?
3. Are you a member of the Communist Party?
4. How many times has your husband come to China to visit you?
5. How did you meet your husband?
6. Did you read the book on Family Violence and do you know number to get help?
That is it, she says they seemed to focus on the family violence issue.
Good luck with your interview and even though it seems a lot, we practiced her 150 questions she found online almost every night.

Way to go! Do you (or does she) remember what the 6 questions were? Any big surprises? Thanks for letting us know how it went

WOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO,
I just received the best news ever. My darling wife has just returned from the embassy and has passed her interview. She is still in tears. What a happy day.
After all the waiting and worrying and hoping and studying thousands of questions, she was asked just 6. AAARRRGGGHHH
This is the light at the end of the tunnel. Now we will prepare to come to America in the fall so we can bring the animals.
MANY MANY MANY thanks to all of you at Visa Journey who have aided us during this process, And for all those who follow in our paths, look to the advice and wisdom of Saylin, she is the master of all time space and visa questions.
Once again to all of those who have commented and aides us 1 bazillion thanks

OMG, I thought it was stressful waiting for responses from the NVC. Today ii is May 28 in China, and my lovely wife is preparing to head to the embassy for her interview. It is official, my blood pressure is through the roof. We have spent the last three weeks reviewing every question she could find online. She has gone through her packets of papers about 5000 times this week alone and has re-arranged her photos at least 20 times.
God and Buddha willing she will do fine and pass her interview. Best of luck to anyone that is either waiting for their interview, or waiting to get their appointment.

With news of our impending interview, and the excitement calming down, I wish to take this moment to thank everyone at Visa Journey for any and all help with our long and arduous journey. We can all, and should all take the time to especially thank those who spend the time to help us. I would like to especially thank two posts on this site.
First, Thank You Saylin, your personal blog, flow charts, guides and FAQ's are extremely helpful in troubling times. I think at one point, I had printed them all out to read. Can anyone say OCD!!!!!!
Second, I would like to thank Ryan H for his experience which became almost a bible for me.
And like Ryan H, I also had a small undetectable typo on the DS-230 which required review. It only took 8 days to correct the problem, resubmit and receive our interview date.
We began our journey on December 1, 2012 and have our interview date on May 31st this year. Just 6 short weeks from case complete.. Bazillion thanks to all.....

Hi folks, just received a CHECKKLIST from the NVC and am wondering if I have lost what is left of my mind. In a nutshell, i have filed m AOS and ds-230. Both fees marked paid on portal. Received seperate emails about them being " received and being loaded for review. Today I got an email checklist asking for the ds-230 and supporting documents. My questions are simple because I have gone blind searching for answers.
Can I assume that the two have crossed paths and this is typical government at work? Can I assume the AOS has been approved? Can I assume anything at this point in the game? Should I tune into the Bat Channel to get the answer? All kidding aside, is this normal?'
Any help would be appreciated,
I hope everyone is having as good a time as I am

Thanks for the info, i assume I get the payment portal from the NVC site. ONWARD....

After being told on Monday evening that the GUZ number would take at least another 2 weeks to be available, a chance call this morning gives us our number. It was apparently assigned yesterday. To all of those waiting or wondering, follow the advice found here in VJ. Be persistent and call call call call. Did I mention CALL? We are now able to move towards opting in for the online remainder of our journey.
Best of luck to everyone, and keep the faith

Thank you one and all and may your jounrey be as swift as ours has been

We received the best Valentine's Day Gift one could ever receive. While having breakfast in Beijing with my wife, we randomly checked the status of our i-130 petition. Much to our surprise, just 77 days after sending in the form (Dec,1,2012) the petition has been appoved. We are eternatly greatful for the help and words of confidence we have found on this site. We are now waiting for the arrival of her package so we may continue on this path. We wish the best of luck to all of those who are on this Visa Journey with us, and hope for quick decisions for all.

Looking for a little help. Have scoured a lot of posts and just wondering if there is a listing of all the fee's that are expected during this process. I have seen several posts but all the reading is making my eyes cross. I have paid the $420 for the I-130 and was wondering what else will be asked for. Any help will be appreciated, now just 40 days from receipt of my NOA1. I am sure there are a few more $$$'s the fed's will be asking for. Thanks again, and best of luck to all in this New Year..........
