  1. Hello friends! Good morning/night

I just wanted to ask those who already had their interview in Manila embassy for K1 visa if they ever got asked

"do you want to work/study when you arrive in the US?"

my question is after you got asked this question what was your answer?

Im asking because me and my fiance are worried since shes a Nurse that the embassy might think we are doing this just for her to be able to get a job here in the US. If she says "yes" they might think shes just doing this for the job but if she says "no" they might think she'll just be a burden to me(fiancee)

sorry if the question is too hypothetical its just one of the question that has really been confusing us.

Thank you in advance for y'alls help!

  2. Good Morning friends! My fiancee has scheduled an interview for her Visa in the Philippines in a few weeks, now were getting our papers together and shes in charge of the pictures shell be bringing now my question is..

    - is there a limit to the amount she can bring? How many is enough 15? 20? 25 pictures?

    - How did you yall present the pictures? Was it printed out like regular pictures? Because my fiance is planning on printing it out on paper so she can put 4 pictures in one page so shell save room? (is this acceptable?)

if so can i get suggestions on how yall dealt with the picture dilema (lol)

Embassy is the US Embassy in the Philippines

    Thank you in advance!

  3. What form is that is that ? Can't look for a newer form without knowing which one.

No your finance does not need a copy of the petition you sent to USICS, the embassy has your original petition.

Embassy does not ask for a copy of YOUR birth certificate, but CFO has been known to ask for a copy - maybe email your fiancée a copy for CFO.

Sorry about that, I just googled the form and I got a 2013 exp. Its the DS 156K form.

    CFO? whats that? sorry.

  4. Hi friends! I just have a few questions.

My fiancee recently started filling out the forms and she saw this does this matter? does she need to go to the embassy in person so she can get an updated form or this will do?

Also I didnt get to make a chance to make copies for all the documents I sent for the initial application because I used an attorneys service, does it really matter for her to HAVE all the copies I sent to USCIS the first time?

and lastly when I sent the initial packet I sent in a copy of my naturalization paper and NOT a copy of my birth certificate, does my fiance need a copy of my birth certificate or the naturalization copy will do.

Thank you in advance for your help!

  5. Hello all, were still waiting for our MNL# but I received a notice from the USCIS that it is on its way to NVC.

I have a question regarding these forms, which one of these do we bring to BPI to get verified?

also can we start filing out these forms even though we havent received our MNL# yet?

    Thank you

  6. Hello...I did not fill up DS 160 for k1 interview, just DS 156, 156k, 157 and 230...ds160 are for b1/b2 or tourist visa applications...

What I did last year when I applied for b1/b2, I goggled questions of ds160 then copy and answered on a paper before typing the final answers on line...hope this can help you.

    Thank you

  7. First things first. For the Philippines bank statements are NOT required if you income is adequate to meet and/or exceed the I-864P Poverty guidelines.

The Manila embassy instructions letter states MAY, not required... Can you include them? Sure. Will it make a difference? No, not really, being your income meets the requirements on its own. What the embassy does want is your most recent tax return, with supporting documents of your; W-2s and recent pay stubs... and you MAY include a letter from your employer... MAY.

For the complete process in Manila click the link in my signature below this posting. It covers everything from NVC to NAIA (airport) when your fiancée flies "home".

To access your timeline, click the TIMELINE in your profile from any post your made. From there look for a shaded box near the top, it will have EDIT/ADD MY ENTRY, click that and you can update details of what country, dates for your NOA1, NOA2 and so on....

    All the Best,

    Thanks for the help!

I have my W-2 from 2010-2012 in hand and ready to be sent

Recent Paystubs I can print from work

and I already requested a letter from my HR department

    again thank you!

  8. I got my NOA2 on June 26. Im one of the people who got transferred from Vermont to TSC.

Should I start calling on Monday already or wait until after the Holiday at least say Friday?

Also regarding the "expedite" option is that available for K-1 application? I hired a lawyer to handle our papers but having extra information never hurts.

  9. Yup that is your NOA2. Proceed with your packet 3.

Your file will be in and out of NVC within a few days. Don;t wait weeks to call. If you already have the hard copy NOA2 your file may have already left NVC. I would call Monday.

Check the Embassy website for the packet three instructions

Which embassy? The one in the Philippines where my fiancé lives?

Congrats! Thats ur NOA2... You should fill out your timeline. When did you file your petition?

Thank you! I filed December 2012

    Congratulations kicking.gif

    Thank you!!!!

  10. I know some people here are beneficiaries from the Philippines is there a way we can download a copy of the DS-160 so we can have like a rough draft so our attorney can look over so all our information is correct or is it only available to be filled out online?

Second question would be regarding the forms, I read somewhere in this forums that people who went to US embassy in manila had the DS 155,156,157 forms with them and not the DS-160 BUT what my lawyer is having us do is fill out the DS160 form.

    Thank you!

  11. My petition for my fiancé got approved. I got a letter in the mail not sure if its NOA2 or not. It's just a piece of paper. I assumed the NOA2 was a packet with instructions in it?

The piece of paper just says all the items have been forwarded to the NVC and my petition was approved. I was looking for follow up instructions but didn't see any. So is this my NOA2 or should I wait for another packet?

My follow up question would be after I receive my NOA2 do I call NVC right away or wait 2 more weeks after receiving it. My petition was approved on June 27 do I go 2 weeks after that date? Or do I wait for NOA2 then wait 2 more weeks after I receive it?

    Thank you

  12. Your profile is incomplete regarding country and your timeline is blank so not sure where your fiancée is from.

If the embassy in the country you are petitioning states they require bank statements then you give them what they want... always keep the embassy happy.

But I am betting in the instructions letter from the embassy it states "MAY be included"

"Employment letters stating salaries and bank statements may be included to substantiate the I-134. Download Form I-134 at http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis. "

But not required, whereas the tax return is required.

The bank statements are only a couple sheets of paper, so not a big deal to add to the "stack" for the interview.

Sorry about the timeline. I don't know how to make one

    Fiancée is from the Philippines.

  13. If you income stated on your tax return meets or exceeds the I-864P Poverty Guidelines then you only need to provide your most recent tax return with supporting documents (W2, pay stubs, employer letter), you do not need any to send bank statements or lists of other assets.

My annual income is above the poverty guidelines. It's just that the attorney I hired said I should include bank statements and it also says in the requirements.

I also have my W-2 in the past 3 years in hand and recent pay stubs the past 3 months. I'm just checking here to see what others have done. Thanks!

  14. I had BOFA print off my main acct and I printed off the others. Remember, do not just send a couple of months. Send EVERY one you have for the duration of the marriage that sahows both names or you will get a RFE like many are getting in the past few months.

    Larry

Actually we're not yet married. I'm applying for her to get a visa to get here so we can be married.

  15. Good evening y'all! I checked my status one hour ago and we got our approval today! Felt like a huge rock was lifted over my shoulders.. Now on to the next one. Still a lot more work to be done.

Good luck to all the filers who got transferred and still waiting for a decision. Don't forget to pray!

Filing date is December 24, 2012

    NOA 2 is June 26, 2013

    Last 5 digits are 54150

I didn't get an email or text message alert from USCIS, I just randomly checked to see if I'm one of the lucky USCIS lottery winner of that day.

As soon as I saw the decision a huge smile took over my face, even though I was at work I had to leave for 5 mins and call my fiancé to let her know we got approved. She had just woken up.
