Fingerprints and photographed at the biometrics were done at mine
It helps everyone 
I agree very simple, you check in, they call your name, you walk in and they fingerprint you and your done -
It will have to be her choice if she is taking your last name. After our inicial interview of adjustment of status we drove to the Social Security Office and got her SSN card with her married name and INS stamp off. Make sure you are using the last name you used on her inicial file so you dont have any questions from USCIS officer.

When i went to our interview they asked very simple questions; How did we meet? How long have we been together? nothing to be to nervous about. I would bring a copy of everything you sent them and i would bring pictures of your wedding as well as other family gatherings. They will also ask you the questionson your application.

I would accept second notice, most letters are computer generated through USCIS. It is unfortunate about going to the appointment on 12/24 but they clearly found the error and sent you your appointment for January. What ever you do dont miss that appointment.
