    I met Juan Carlos while volunteering at children's home in EL Salvador. We date down there for the next 7 months. Then I moved back to the states. in july i started the paperwork for a K1 visa. August 13, 2012 I received notice from the USCIS that they received my papers. Since then we have been waiting

    We applied in August for our k1 visa for my fiance and I received notice from them that they receved my papers August 13th 2012. we have not heard anything since. Is it normal for it to take at least 5 months?

      Between 6 and 7 months. I know how you feel. We are coming up on our 6 month mark next week.

      we are almost the same, our NOA1 is Aug 9., an is still waiting for NOA2, i really pray, that we'll get it soon, this month i'll consider it miracle!:-)
