If you are flying into Montreal for even a night and staying downtown, do not take a cab to your hotel! It is $40. It's a flat rate. No wiggle room. However you can take a bus that stops along Rene levesque both to and from the airport. It's $9 for a ticket for 24 hrs (you can buy 3 days for $18) right on the arrivals level of the airport. This ticket also let's you use any bus or metro.
Just to add it takes the same amount of time to ride the bus as the cab. The bus has special spots to out your luggage as well.
Thank you for posting this info! I took the 747 Express instead of a cab and it was soooo easy. The stops are clearly indicated on the bus, the driver was announcing stops in english and french and it was only 9$ each way as opposed to a 40$ cab ride.
Also, getting your bus ticket on the arrivals level of the airport was easy too. You can pay right on the bus with coins as well. There were 3 busses waiting at the airport when I got on. So it would appear that they are quite frequent.
Thanks again!

Will post a review very soon! Thank you everyone!!

Does the Loomis visa package travel over the weekend? My interview is on a Friday and I was wondering if it will even move until Monday.
Thanks!
-
Cool, thanks all!
-
Do I need to bring a copy of the I-130 to my interview?
Thanks!
-
It was to the NVC.
You submitted the originals to the NVC or the USCIS?
-
Is it okay if we already sent our original marriage certificate, birth certificate, and police certificate? I will basically just have copies with me at the interview, and the embassy should have the originals in our package...
Thanks in advance!
-
No it's just something to do. Yours would have headed to Montreal when the rest did. Its really not a necessary thing. But don't forget to sign up for Loomis! You need that to even get in the door in Montreal.
Oh, ok- thanks everyone who replied!
I signed up for loomis and have the confirmation page ready to print!
-
Email arrived!
I'm confused though, why track the package now? Since we have interview dates, emails...
I must be missing something- should I be tracking too?
-
No email here yet either....
-
From what I've pieced together, you wait until the Consulate has your file (either by checking the CEAC site or calling DoS), then send an email or use the online contact form to request an earlier date.
Thanks! Might have to check that out.

Just found out- July 26th!
Out of curiosity, how do you try to get an earlier date?
-
Hooray!!!! Just got my interview date!!!! July 9!!! That even works with our extremely crazy schedule!!!!
Congratulations! Thats great news!

But don't freak yet. That's part of what I'm saying. This guy couldn't see anything about Montreal's progress, he couldn't see what Gus saw the other day, so he started making these conjectures THAT HAD NO BASIS IN REALITY (I'm still mad at him), but had no real information to give. I think it might have been another deflection tactic so that they don't get pestered. I tried to say that we'd been told that Montreal is scheduling, and he said that he couldn't see that information.
I'll call back again, later today, and see what other story I get this time.
When I called on the 30th they did say I would not get a June interview, but July. I cannot recall if he said "most likely" July or if he just stated it. But hopefully that helps!

I only call right when they open and it would have been pointless today.
Everyone was saying they got emails w/in an hour of knowing so I haven't seen the point.
I prob won't call unless I see another canadian w/an interview otherwise wednesday AM
Waiting with both KDH and smrow! Good to hear that Montreal has started scheduling. Thank you both for the updates
-
Congratulations!
Could you also let us know how long it takes your visa to make it to you? BC I assume
-
Congrats everyone! This morning is looking bright! C'mon NVC!!!
-
They should start scheduling July interviews in a few days. Either tomorrow the 31st, or Monday on June 3rd, as the 1st and 2nd is on a weekend. They were surprisingly really good about sending the email the same day. You'll likely get later in June because your case complete is so close to the end of May.
Did you get your case complete email yet?
Just got our case complete email today.
-
You sent the new I864 too? I did and delayed as NVC doesn't know how to process it.
If I sent old one, my case would have been complete 2 weeks ago.
I am not sure if we sent the new I-864 or the old one- but it sounds like it was the old one as it took 17 days to process.
I hope they get to yours soon, I am sorry to hear that - keep us posted!
On a good note though-from the sounds of it once we have our interviews the visa arrives pretty fast! Thank you everyone who let us know how many days it took for theirs.
Depends on where you live. from 2 days (Toronto) to 2 weeks or so. Depends on how close you are to a major city. I will let you guys know how long it takes to get mine back. I'm hoping for next Friday... Monday or Tues at the latest.
Thanks! Do keep us posted

We didn't get our email yet, just found out over the phone when I called. June would be much better- fingers crossed!
From what I can tell, the time between the interview and receiving your visa via DHL is about two weeks, does that sound right to anyone? I have been checking past threads but some are quite old.
Thanks!

Come join us on the Case Complete Interview thread I just added you.

Thanks! I will!

Great news today- case complete!
I was told I would not get a June interview but most likely July. Anyone have an interview scheduled quite recently for Montreal? I am trying to guess as best I can as to when ours will be

You haven't even received the email indicating that your documents were received?!? If so, that's an awful long time...did you at least get the generic auto-email from NVC (this gets sent out automatically anytime you email them something)? If you got that auto email, I would call NVC and check in. If you didn't get that auto email, then your email didn't go through. I submitted all of my docs on May 3 and received the "we've received your documents and it takes 20 days to process..." email on May 7.
I checked with NVC yesterday and there's a delay in processing my I864 as I used the new one. Apparently, Dept of State didn't tell NVC how to process this document, so NVC is just waiting for DoS to advise them.
Thank you! I was starting to wonder myself how it could take so long. Just a couple hours ago an email arrived- but it was the auto responder for the DS-260, which was submitted before the I-864. I called the NVC because the email said that they have not received everything else we sent. NVC said to disregard that and wait up to 20 days for our next email saying that they have everything else ( I-864, marriage certificate...those kinds of things).
MsHogan, the DS-260 did show as complete. But no auto responder to the I-864.
Yikes, looks like an email issue! Thank you everyone!
Approved!!
