@stevie b
don't know who is right and wrong but i have my NOA2 in front of me and there is clearly written A# and then following 9 numbers in beneficiary name column. But who knows may b u r right.
-
if registration number start with Alphabet "A" then you are good to go.
-
@stevie b
i am afraid you are wrong, though you are a platinum member you must have updated information so that u can guide others in their journey. No offence plz... but I-130 approval hard copy notice does have A# right infront of beneficiary name. Correct me if i am wrong >>> Alien number assigned to the applicant or beneficary by USCIS not DOS (NVC).

it should be on the stamped visa..Try to find the number start with A.. if u didnt find then it should also be on ur i-130 approval.

@Tim/Mav
every country has different local procedures some will send you in mail and others will have to pick from designated courier service which is American Express in case of Pakistan. so they call the beneficiary when they received passport and visa packet from embassy to inform that ur packet and passport has arrived.

@waitinggg
Nope it didn't change, and i have never sent any email to embassy to inquire about my case though.

@shan0001

Finally a long journey has come to an end.. Here is my story to share with u guys !!
NOA1 --- 17 April 2012
NOA2 --- 5 january 2013
Had an interview at Islamabad embassy on 6 August 2013 and as usual they put me in AP..
Beneficiary is Male and category is CR1.. They retained my passport and give my all original docs back to me.. Even CO didn't ask for the wedding pictures.. Which is very strange for me on that moment.
Yesterday my status updated and changed to Ready from AP on 12 sept 2013.
Today morning it changed to AP and now in evening it changed to issued on the same day means 13 sept 2013... YAYYYYYY Finally a moment of JOY and Happiness ... i am so excited right now and thought to share my story here on great VJ forum which really help me a lot through all my journey..
Hope everyone get out of this AP soon.. !!
Thanks !!

Well i must say u r lucky enough that ur AP last for only 16 days.. WOW and big congratulations to u as well..
Could u please give us little insight about ur case? as the beneficiary is male or female ?? Did he or she get 221G at the time of interview.. and what did CO say to u at the time of interview that how long AP will last like 3-4 months or 1-2 months? -
two different froms, the 1-129f k-1 visa is for fiance,e not married yet,and the 1-130 cr-1 visa is for married.or 1-130 for family members,so you don't file both forms togather, many many years ago, you can file 1-130 and 1-129f to become the k-3 visa but that is no longer in use,
yea i came to know that when we sent I129f packet and then there is no way i can stop it. actually one of family friend advised to use this path by saying it might be shorter and they did same for their daughter(prior to 2010). Unfortunately we didn't search on this and now we cannot blame anyone as this is our mistake. hope you guys understand our frustration cz we have NOA1 from April 17, 2012 and waiting from september for our NOA2.

The I129F was introduced when the I130 was taking literally years to adjudicate. It was designed for the immigrant to wait in the US, reunited with his/her family, while the lengthy process took place.
Now that the I130 is processed quickly, it really negates the I129F. While it is still on the books and thus accepted by USCIS, the quicker processing times of the I130 have basically made the I129F obsolete.
I am sorry, I wish you had found this site earlier where we could have explained this to you
good luck
thanks for the reply but now i am just curious that why USCIS accepting this I129f petition for k3 visa anymore when there is a quicker processing for I130 and also NVC administratively closed K3 visa, then whats the point of accepting that petition i am regretting daily for our mistake and just have small tiny hope that we could hear something good soon from VSC.

first i would like to say that VJ is a great forum from where we can get lots of information and help through other members who experience the same issues and concerns.I have been watching this very closely since we filled the petition but this is the first topic i am posting here. I don't understand why VSC consolidate both petitions(I130 and I129f) with different timelines. I know we have made a mistake that we filled I129f later on July 7,2012 for K3, it is closed now at NVC but then why the hell USCIS accepting it and combine with I130 just to make the immigrant pissed off? CAN anyone with same experience suggest us now what to do?
FYI--we have tried service request (once) and our congressman (once) and got the same reply from both that they are processing both petitions at same time and we would allow them 60 days to process this but didn't hear anything as yet.
