Thank you. Do I need to mail anything else except I-20? I already filled all the forms. I followed the I-130 package and I-485 package, but did not mention I-20. So I am wondering if I need to submit some additional material since I am a student?

Yeah, I saw that section. But it is K1, K3 visa. I am in the United now, and I am in my F1 visa.

Question is: do you have to file I-130 with AOS?

You would only use an I-485A if you were filing for a 245(i) adjustment, and had an immigrant petition (or labour certification) either pending or approved on or before 30th April 2001.

to go together, they have to apply as a 'unit'. if they all appeay together the Co would definitely want to know what is so special that they are going together to see you especially like you said, it is no longer graduation.

Your parents have to prove strong ties to their home country and that they will return home. Your Mum already having had a visa seems favourable. Was it a b2 she had?

I got married last year in December, I am going to have my wedding in June, so I want to invite my parents come to America. I have not applied my green card yet, my status right now is F1. But I will apply for it soon, does my status change influence my parents visa? And should I tell the US embassy my parents come to my wedding?Last year my mom came once, my school gave me a letter to prove she came to attend my graduation, now I am a student again, can I do the same thing? of course this time it is not graudation, just I can not go home, so want to invite parents come here and visit me. Can I tell my parents not mention I get married just say they come here to visit me?

Did you actually come in on an F1? What visa did you enter on?

When you say "changed with the court" do you mean you just wrote your new name on the marriage license? Or did you pay for a legal name change and attend court to change your name?

1. Wait until you get your EAD or Greencard and it will be easier

2. You don't have to as the forms will help you change it. You can start changing your bank accounts etc but most likely anything else will wait till after you have your EAD or GC

3. Fill in the forms in your new name, include a copy of the name change document (marriage certificate or whatever else you used).

It very well may be that the person you spoke with at the SSA office is clueless.

If you changed your name through the court, then you should have been able to change your name on your SS card using your name change document from the court. Why did you need to get it changed through the court? Your marriage certificate should act as your legal name change document for changing your name to your husband's.

File for AOS with the new married name you will be using from now on. Your EAD/AP and green card will come in the name you use on the AOS forms. The copy of your certified marriage certificate you must include will act as your legal name change document. If you do not go back to the SSA to try and get your name changed again before getting the EAD or green card, then go when you get one of those that will have your new married name on it. Use it and your marriage certificate to change the name on your SS card and get state ID/drivers license.

Hi,everyone. I really need help. I just got married last Friday, and I changed my last name though court, and yesterday I tried to change my name on my social security card, but the people told me they cant change it there. So my questions are:

1).How can I know my name is totally changed in Aemrica?

2).Should I change my name before I apply for my green card?

3).Should I fill those forms after I get my name changed or I can just fill the form now using my new name?
