  1. I haven't updated but will do so shortly. My husband did finally take his test, which turned out to be easy breezy; HOWEVER, the interview was a problem in that the officer questioned him extensively on the validity of our 5 1/2 year marriage! Anyhow, after sending in the additional "proof" requested....he finally got his oath date, only the letter lists a few items he needs to bring, one of which is "Any immigration documents you may have." Already listed is "Reentry permit or refugee travel document" which he doesn't have because he never left the States, so does anybody know what documents they may want to see?

  2. Hi GinFar!

I recognized your name from when we were going through our I-129F process.

I'm so sad to hear your son died but it is wonderful to have your husband there. My husband has carried me through losing 8 family members and is wonderful :)

We applied for our citizenship in 2010 and it was a quick and easy process. No worries!

    *Hugs!* Take care!

Thanks! I hear the average wait time is about 4 to 5 months, so we'll just sit tight and hope for no bumps in the road.

  3. It's been a while since I've posted anything on VJ. Back in 2009, just after I lost my job, my son was killed, and these past 2 years have been a blur. Life has been hard, and my husband has been a trooper!

I've often felt like he's been neglected, but he's never complained as he's seen my raw pain. I'm working again, and Farouk is going to school as well as working full time with OT. We're getting our future going as best as possible.

We just sent the package for the N-400 to Dallas. I haven't even looked at any posts to see how long this has been taking or anything. I feel very new at this all over again. We hope everyone on VJ has been well and happy through their journeys!

  4. Thanks again everybody for your prayers and condolences. I'm still taking this day by day. Mornings seem to be the most difficult, although I never know when I'm going to break down crying. Every time I pass by the spot where we all went fishing on July 4, my heart feels like it's breaking into a million pieces. I feel myself despising the man who did this to all of us, especially to my granddaughter. I pray that justice will prevail, although it's looking like the state may release the shooter on bond because the prosecutor wants the case handed to him in a pretty package with fingerprints on the weapon, which hasn't been found, and even a confession from the shooter -- this make the prosecutor look like he has a perfect record with convictions. Please pray that they find the evidence that they have to be sufficient or that they find something that makes them feel secure enough to get an indictment. I miss my son so much....I just wish I could go back to the day before this horrible nightmare started so that I could change things, but that's not realistic. What people do to other people and the people that love them is incredible.

  5. Thanks so much to my old VJ buddy Meriem_DZ, who has been a very dear friend for the past 3+ years, for posting this. I have been and continue to be surprised and honored by so much attention and respect given to my son, Chad, and his passing. Please do pray for our strength and courage as we try to make it through the second hardest day of my life so far, Chad's services tomorrow. I don't know at all how I'm going to survive this, but my husband has been my rock, and I know I'm going to have to take it day by day and minute by minute. Believe that I feel everyone's love, support, strength, and courage throughout my most horrible nightmare come true. I will likely never meet most of you in person, but you are all sisters and brothers to me in this moment of eternity that we share on this earth together. Thanks so much again.
  6. Application Type: CRI89, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED

    Current Status: Card production ordered.

On July 7, 2009, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. Just follow the link below to register.

This is dated July 7 but wasn't posted on site until the 8th, the same day we got the hard copy in the mail.

Does anybody know the average wait time to actually receive the card? I know there's been equipment replacement issues recently, but just curious if some are getting the card before the 30 days stated.

  7. After transfer to CSC from VSC on March 5th, then last week getting that letter that says file was transferred to "a" USCIS office....we finally got the approval letter today, dated 05/27. It says 60 days for the card, but of course, we will see when!

    WHEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.....time to RELAX now.

Thanks for all the support and well wishes....and right back at ya for those still waiting. Hang in there!

  8. We just got email notification with case status change. It was showing that our file was transferred to CSC from VSC on March 5 but as of May 27, we have the following.

Application Type: CRI89, PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED

Current Status: This case is now pending at the office to which it was transferred.

The CRI89 PETITION TO REMOVE CONDITIONS OF PERMANENT RESIDENT STATUS RECEIVED was transferred and is now pending standard processing at a USCIS office. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address. We process cases in the order we receive them. You can use our processing dates to estimate when this case will be done, counting from when USCIS received it. Follow the link below to check processing dates. You can also receive automatic e-mail updates as we process your case. To receive e-mail updates, follow the link below to register.

Any idea what this means now??

  9. We did the AR-11 online, just days before transfer to CSC. My concern is....when choosing which type of case, the only option was I-751...there was no CR-189 in the list. Of course, the I-751 has a different receipt # than the CR-189 number received with the biometrics appointment letter. I did the change of address under I-751 receipt number, but am concerned that the # in the system may be the CR-189 number and that would not have a change of address entered. Hope that makes sense. Has anyone else had to do change of address, and if so, did you get your GC sent to new address after doing the AR-11 the way we did it?

We did do mail forwarding right away. I surely wish we didn't have to move at this time, but no choice there. Keeping fingers crossed that all goes well anyhow.

  10. WOW! That's great! Congratulations! VSC got Farouk's I-751 Sept. 4, and biometrics were shortly after that, so maybe we're right behind you there. I was trying to figure out how they're determining which apps to pawn off on CSC because if they sent ours there now....that is IF they're actually doing that....we may be waiting the same 6 months more if it stayed at VSC, but so far we haven't been touched, no RFEs, etc. Just waiting......

    Congrats again! PARTY TIMEEEEEEE !!
