  1. Hi everyone,

My parents have got an interview in Abu Dhabi (U.A.E.) and they're going to have to schedule their medical exam the day before the interview. I'm really concerned that they won't have the test results that early. Can anyone please tell me how long does it take to get the medical test results back and how long prior to their interview they should schedule their medical?

I'd appreciate it if anyone could tell me where do you find the US government approved doctors (panel physician) to schedule your appointments with? Is there any list for that?

    Thanks.

  2. Hi everyone,

Although my case is not spouse related, but it's a general question. 3. Thanks Arash, you have so much great information. I think you'll get an interview date by the end of this week. (You know appointments are scheduled at the second week of each month). If so, My parents should get an interview date probably next month or maybe even this month! Please keep me posted. Good Luck.

  4. You're very welcome. I really think you won't regret it if you get tax transcripts from IRS. I've even requested the second copies to attach to the copy of I-864 and have my parents take it with them to interview. Every one I know who has been rejected on their interview, has had a problem with their tax papers. Even in our case, the document that we were missing was something (I don't remember what it was), but it was supposed to be the original, but we had a regular copy! So I'd say it's worth it. Hope it helps. Good Luck.

  5. Oops! Sorry! I forgot about the backround check. My case was back in 2002! So I guess I didn't have a backround check done. I've seen other people havin their visa in hand immidiately though. This ad. process is new. But I'm not sure exactly how it works! Parents of a friend of mine got their green card lasr December. The mother was given the visa immidiately and the father had to go back to Iran and wait for ad. process which was done in 5 weeks. So I'm not sure how exactly it works.

  6. Hi, Just wanted to add a quick note. I also came to US through marriage visa. My husband was with me in Abu Dhabi. Although it was not needed... If everything goes well and you don't miss any documents, you'll need just about a week in Abu Dhabi. Then you'll have the visa in your hand and then you can fly directly to Us... I mean, if you can find a ticket so quickly! :)

But we were missing a document, so we had to stay for another week until we received that too. Just keep a copy of all your documents and take the copies with you to the interview. Specially I-864. I would have a tax transcript, just to make sure that nothing goes wrong. Make sure you take a copy of that to Abu Dhabi too. I hear that's the most important item.

    Good Luck.

  7. Hi Arash,

I'm an Iranian as well and waiting for my parents interview in Abu Dhabi. 2 years is way too long. I've never seen anyone being kept on this ad. process for that long. According to what I've seen, the average is a couple of weeks. (May be 5-6 at the max).

By the way, I also have a question for you. Could you please tell me how long did it take you from the date your case was completed until your were given an interview date? (or the actual interview date) Thanks.
