  1. I just checked the USCIS site and it says my interview is scheduled for March 21st

The only thing that struck me is that it says the interview will be at the National Benefit Center. I thought they would be held at the local office? Where is the NBC, does anybody know?

Online it will say it's at the NBC. I think it's just because of generality. Once you get your notice in the mail it will tell you the name of the exact location to go to as well as the time.

    FYI: NBC is in Missouri

  2. Hey all - quick question (although I asked this on the main forum and no one had answers so I hope someone here can help me out!):

I start my new job tomorrow and currently have only a job letter from my employer. I need to respond to the RFE for my husband's AOS by the end of March, but I really was hoping to do it ASAP because I want him to get his EAD as quickly as possible. But I don't know if I should send back the RFE response with: a) new I-864 with new income (it is above poverty level), b) employer letter, and c) tax information (again). OR if I should wait until the end of February when I will have two paystubs to send with the previous mentioned items. Just as a note, our RFE was for insufficient income so I want to try to prove that I am now CURRENTLY making enough money.

    Any advice?

    Thanks,

    Kate

Something I might suggest, depending on how well you get along with your boss (I understand it's a new job, so circumstances may vary), is to get your boss to write a letter (with company letter head) to USCIS with the following information:

    • When you started
    • How many hours per week you'll work
    • how much money she guarantees you will make this year

Reason being is if your employer promises you'll make X amount over the poverty line, USCIS will sometimes honor it.

  3. It seems that most people are not able to view their case status online till right before or right after their Biometrics appointment. I'm not exactly sure about the Biometrics appointment letter but it should probably be scheduled for the end of the month or the first week in January at the latest.

That's what I figured and I keep seeing the calendar tick the days closer to the new year and nothing! I'm almost tempted to call them and ask them when my appointment is with the excuse (which is a real fear) that I'm afraid I will miss it and cannot check online to see what's going on. Any experience on this?

  4. A little Back Ground. I overstayed my visitors visa for quite a few years (Came to USA 1998 and haven't left since). Met my wife in college and dated for 1 year, we were engaged for 10 more months and then got married October 6th! All in All the packet I sent in kicks butt! Affidavit letters of support from her parents that was notarized, letters from friends, tons of pictures professionally taken at our wedding (one including all 200+ guests that attended), bank accounts merged, her DL with new last name, lease, and to top it off, the engagement ring letter of appraisal (to toot my own horn, if they don't think my wedding is Bona Fide after that then WOW!)

I'm waiting on the Biometrics Letter to get here but its been 16 days now since USCIS received my package!! What do you think? Is this average? Also, USCIS hasn't uploaded my case to their online tracker!

I sent in everything on November the 29th through my lawyer's mail. (The mail at my home seems to be very inconsistent with various packets and letters going missing, so I told my lawyer to list himself 'In Care Of' so that I could make sure I received everything). The Cash was checked on Friday December the 7th and I haven't heard anything since then! I can't look at the back of my check because they did ACH (electronic transfer) Transfer instead of just cashing the check. AHHH I'M SO IMPATIENT!!! When do you guys think I'll hear something?
