  1. My friend left US without advance parole while her green card application is pending. Today her case status says that her green card is delivered. If her husband sends her greencard to her, would she able to come back to US using that green card? By the way she and her husband are not in good terms and a divorce is very likely in the future. Her husband made her come back home while her application was in process so that she could give birth in the philippines as as he said he could not afford for her to give birth in the US. When she got home, her husband deleted her off facebook and never returned her calls. They have started communicating again but basically just fighting and arguing about each others faults. She really wanted to come back to the US with her baby as she believes they have a better future here. Would greatly appreciate anyone's advice on this case. Thank you.

  2. Anyone been in this boat before? I dont recall seeing anything specifically requesting paystubs in the I-864. I sent last years tax return only. I earn well above the poverty level guidelines but am now sweating about the potential of an RFE...

Has anyone sent the I-864 without paystubs and been ok? How much of a delay would an RFE on something like this cause?

i agree that 1864 instructions found on USCIS website dont say that paystub is required but i cant say you're not getting an RFE. Is the return you sent a tax transcript from IRS? If you get an RFE, it will delay your case probably two weeks as long as you sent your paystub right away.

  3. I did file i30 and i485 together and put all the forms in one folder. I just put a cover letter on top listing all the contents in the folder. I wanted to copy paste some links here that will help you but im on my phone. You may type"concurrent filing" in the search box and u will see additional guidelines aside from the info on the "guidelines" tab on this site. There are also sample forms in one of the menu tabs.

To know where youre supposed to send your application, go to page 5 of i30 instructions.you can download it from uscis website. With regard to address change, i think just go ahead with your application and change your address later.

  4. Wow! That's so good to know.

My husband has only really tried adobo, sisig, lumpia and kare kare when we were in Manila a few times. He said he liked the sinigang I made... Wth the recipe from the panlasangpinoy site! Yey! :)

Curious, what sort of meat did you use for the bopis? I had wanted to try making pork sisig but I can't find the meat for it :(

My friend was the one who made the bopis and I think she got the meat (pig's lungs and heart) from H-Mart in Chicago. It is really a tough meat to find so a butcher shop might be the best place to go for that kind of meat.

  5. Hello everyone!

My husband is a great cook :) I've actually taken a liking to tamales, bean salads, etc, that he had grown up with, coming from Texas.

He has also learned how to cook adobo, leche flan, and fried lumpia for me. I must admit I am a newbie compared to him in the kitchen.

I really want him to try more Filipino dishes. But, I also need to learn how to cook them. haha! I've already made pork sinigang and he seems to have liked it.

What other Filipino food/dishes do you think Americans are more likely to eat?

(And please, no dog meat jokes, hehe)

These are some of the dishes my husband and my friends' hubbies like as well :)

-sopas, puto, afritada, giniling, tinola, empanada, siopao, bopis, kare kare, bistek, chopsuey, macaroni salad, cassava cake, lugaw

you may also want to check this site out for more pinoy dishes, the cook here is a pinoy living in the US too :) - http://panlasangpinoy.com/

  6. I'm posting this topic to seek advice for a friend of mine who came here in the US on a fiance visa and got married. Her husband is a very controlling guy, would only let her work for his company and wouldnt let her get a driver's license. Most of her time was spent cleaning their house, taking care of her stepkids and helping him in his business. She never felt her husband cared for her as he would leave the house without saying where he's going and he would go to a trip and be gone for a week or so and he would not even call her on the phone to check on her.She would call him but he never answered. He would only talk to his kids. He stayed up late every night on the computer and she found out he's on all night chatting to girls online. November last year, she came home for personal reasons she said. I told her leaving with her application pending means she's abandoning her green card application but she didnt care and went home. I personally think that it's best best for her to come back home. Two weeks after arriving in the Philippines, she told me that her husband wasnt replying to her message on Facebook, not picking up the phone, removed her and her kids on his facebook account. And then she told me that the reason she came home was to give birth in the Philippines. She never told me all along that she was pregnant. Her husband told her not to tell anybody she was pregnant and just tell evryone once she gave birth. He wanted her to go home cos he couldnt afford for her to give birth in the US cos they dont have insurance. Her husband didnt give her any money when she came home leaving her the one to pay for her hospital bills and all in the Philippines. To make the long story short, they're back talking again arguing. It's basically him turning the table on her by accusing her of stuff and she defending herself. It's insane how she has the energy to argue with him and hear all his lies.

Now, she wants a divorce and if her husband doesnt file for one, what's the option left for her? Can she file for a divorce while she's in the Philippines?

She didnt get into details but she told me she was sexually abused and had bruises on her body when she came home and have a medical exam proving it, where is the proper venue for her to file her complaints to?

I would greatly appreciate anybody's advice. Thank you!

  7. My fiancee came here on K1 visa and we got married in US and filed for Adjustment of Status. She already had biometric and received her EAD. But, she has not received letter for Greencard interview yet and her K1 visa is expiring in February. In this scenario, is there we are supposed to do? Or since we got married and have her EAD, she is eligible to continue staying in US?

She's absolutely eligible to stay since you guys got married before her visa expires and already filed for AOS. All you have to do now is to wait for your greencard interview.

  8. I haven't used this site yet. But I have read here in the forum that they have ordered NSO documents from this site.

It is a legit site. It's the National Statistics Office site.

it's absolutely a legit site, ive used this site last year and did get my birth certificate.
