Thank you and congratulations again!! Do they give any paper or such for the upcoming oath etc?

They gave me a sheet of paper that said I was "recommended for approval". Eighteen days later, on aug 28th, my status was updated to "placed in queue to be scheduled for oath ceremony". I take this to mean that my application was finally approved and placed in line for an oath ceremony.

Things appear to be slow at the Boston field office. Will just have to wait and see.

The interview was easy. I applied based on 5 years of permanent residency so I was not asked to take any documents other than the usual.

Got my interview letter 15 days after the email update.

I wore shorts and a t-shirt to my interview. It was a Saturday, it was hot and I had places to be after my 8:30 am interview. I don't think my interviewing officer cared much for my attire.

Congratulations to all who have passed the interview stage and have either become citizens or are in line for their oath ceremonies. I had my interview this morning and I was in and out before I knew it. Glad to be done with the interview. I was recommended for approval. I have a short review of my interview in my timeline. My naturalization was based on a five year green card so I was not asked to take any documents except for my green card and passports.

Does it take longer if you hand fill the forms like the I-864 or the DS230? As compared to filling them out in the computer? The problem is that the fields are sometimes too short, and sometimes like in my wife's address there is a '#' but the form does not accept that character. I have been told that if any slight deviation in spelling or anything can cause a massive delay so I am just trying to avoid that and give as accurate and as consistent information as possible!

Please advise!

For the DS-230, I attached a separate sheet, referenced the particular numbers from the application and included the mailing addresses. The DS-230 form instructions actually state that you can do that. My AoS and IV packages were approved without any checklists on the issue.

I just did Interview on 28 August at 9.30 am. I am no longer in F2A category, but I've spent 99% of my time on VJ in this forum, and have had so much support, help and encouragement from all of you that I wanted to share the happy news here too.

Upcoming month's visa bulletin: September 2013 (Coming Soon)

See the visa bulletin for the month of August 2013. The September bulletin will only be published in August.

This basically benefits those whove had their i-130s approved, and gotten the case number from the NVC and thus have their process started. The only reason they did this as mentioned is because there are not many people in the line right now.

So if anyone goes and marries today and applies, technically they are eligible for a visa but they have to go through the long i-130 approval first so this doesn't mean anything special for those people unfortunately.

My PD is April 03, 2012 so I've waited quiet a long time and I just got the case number yesterday from the NVC!

Guess you didn't see my timeline to see how long I have waited . Congratulations on getting your case number at NVC. After you get invoiced, you can send in both your AoS and IV packages and expect a case complete within a month (or longer if you get checklists). Good luck!

Just called NVC and got an interview date scheduled for August 22nd (08/22/2013). Can someone update me in the list for June cases waiting on interviews? Thanks so much.

How do they disprove intent?

This is a question I have as well. One of the replies was that this was a clear indication of visa fraud. Then another reply says that many have adjusted their statuses this way.

I understand there is no right answer. But I am curious.

This is my first time posting in this forum. A friend of mine (US citizen) married a South African national recently. She has come to the US a few times using a multiple entry B2 visa. He has been looking into possible ways to bring her here. Based on what I read here, I assumed his best path was to file for an IR-1/CR-1 as soon as possible.

His wife is planning to visit him in a month's time. He feels that it is a better strategy to file for the I-130 and AOS concurrently after she gets here. He is not clear on the rules of visa fraud though. Looking through the posts here, I have been getting mixed views. Some say it is routinely done and should not be a problem as long as it is a bonafide marriage. Others say that the foreign spouse would have established immigration intent by marrying the US citizen, so the AOS is out of question.

Can someone explain this to me? Is my friend correct in trying to file for the I-130 and AOS concurrently?

From what I get, it is up to the NVC reviewer's discretion to approve your file.

I realised that my husband sent our AOS packages with my cover sheet instead of our children's for their cases so I'm anxiously awaiting to see if we get an RFE or not...

Hopefully you get the PCC to them soon, at least you know that this is the only piece of the jigsaw missing

I guess it helps that my wife just got her PCC yesterday, so there is no further delay on that count.

I hope you don't get a checklist based on a false document cover sheet. For my wife's case, the NVC payment portal was not working properly at the time, so I created my own cover sheet (without the barcode), and it was accepted. Good luck to you and I hope you hear something soon.

Called NVC this evening and was told that my IV package is missing the police clearance certificate. I had asked in my cover letter if my wife could bring it with her to the interview (the certificate was taking too long at the local authorities). Guess that didn't fly. Hope to send it soon and wait another 10 business days!

I sent my IV package on April 30th (received by NVC on May 2nd), so it has been 10 business days.

Not sure why you are confused. The questions you ask are under Part 2 - Information on intending immigrant, i.e., the beneficiary.

Under each part, requested information is re-numbered from 1. Sponsor mailing address is in part 4.

I don't expect any retrogression for the next bulletin at least. They would have warned us in the current published Visa bulletin. I expect a healthy forward movement of at least 4-6 weeks. Good luck to everyone!

Guys, do you know when USCIS will update their status?

and do you think is it possible that their processing time will later than Visa BUlletin?

for example, VSC processing time still approving F2a Feb2011, but the VB already move to June2011 for next June 2013??

If you look at the previous posts, people with PD in June-Aug 2011 got their NOA2s only in April of this year. The next processing times update will be "as of March 30, 2013", so I am not sure it will move that fast when the next processing times update is published.

I could be wrong though. The current processing times list shows that "as of February 28, 2013", VSC was considering applications February 27, 2011 and before. My PD is Feb 3, 2011 and I got my NOA2 on March 19, 2013. This probably means that they spent a month reviewing my application before approving it. It is difficult to get this information from Customer Service. Up until 7:30 pm on March 19th, my status was "in initial review".

Congrats on getting the AoS accepted! Mine was also received on may 2nd but I called yesterday to see if either packet had been reviewed yet and they said no

Thanks. It has been taking around 10 business days for the NVC to review the packages (based on a few VJ members I have been following). I am hopeful that both of us will hear something next week.
