  1. Case complete! I just got off the phone with an NVC representative. He told me the case was completed on July 21st (three days ago). Just waiting to get an appointment with the Taipei embassy (AIT). I thought I would get an email when the case was completed, but the rep said They will send an email once the appointment is scheduled. I guess there wasn't really an issue with the police certificate, after all (maybe the person looking at it just wasn't sure at the time).

  2. mt package was delivered to the NVC on March 24th, but due to issue I was not able to submit DS-260 until May 1st and furthermore due to computer problems my submitted DS-260 was not "visible" to the person that needed to review it. So earlier this month it got escalated to the supervisor to fix that problem, and at that time that's when they are telling me everything looks OK except the police certificate was not checked off as complete (but they couldn't tell me the exact reason)

  3. Hey, we just submitted the original copy from police station, it works with NVC. Not sure what do you mean by "translated in English" mean. The original one has chinese and english on it already.

How old was your police certificate when you submitted it to the NVC? Mine was almost 3 months old when I submitted it, and now it's 5 months old... and I'm still waiting on my DS-260 review before I can get case complete, or a checklist.

I happened to submit a copy, but that was suggested in this wiki guide, so I don't think that's the issue.

When I said it was "translated in English," I misspoke. We didn't have it translated actually... the original came with Chinese and English on it already, as you mentioned.

  4. I just got off the phone with the NVC, and I was told that my case hasn't been reviewed because my files haven't yet been uploaded to the "share point" in their system. I opted for Electronic Processing, so I e-mailed all of the required documents and my husband filled out the DS-260 online. When we filled out the I-130, we mailed it.

I'm not sure why it's taking SO long. I know that it's taking longer for others, but why would they tell me to wait 30 days when they obviously can't honor that? My e-mailed files were scanned on June 8, 2015 and was put under Supervisor Review on July 8, 2015 after 30 days had passed. Why is there STILL no progress on our case???

I've tried speaking to a supervisor, but I'm always told that they're either in meetings or just busy. Today I contacted my congressman, but I'm not sure if that will help at all.

I just don't know what to do at this point. Waiting is getting harder and harder since no progress has been made, and my husband and I just wanted to start living our lives together.

I think we got unlucky with our timing. I'm in a similar situation, except I waited 67 days until I was told on July 7th that my DS-260 wasn't "visible" to the people that needed to see it, and it was being escalated to the supervisor to fix that. Obviously there were some computer issues the past couple of months at the NVC, which seem to (hopefully) have been resolved over the July 4th shutdown.

  5. My Taiwanese wife's police certificate is dated February 2nd, 2015, and is translated in English. I am currently waiting for case complete, but NVC customer service has indicated that the police certificate is not checked off as complete. They can't tell me the reason, though. I'm certain I included the police certificate in the combined package of documents, so I'm wondering what the issue is. Anyone have any guess? Is the police certificate only good for 6 months, or is it a year?

  6. NVC takes roughly 30 - 45 days to review your documents and DS-260. Once the review is complete, they will inform you via email. Their goal is to do the review in 30 days, 45 days if you're on supervisor review. If you haven't heard from them in say 34 days, start calling.

I submitted my DS-260 on May 1st... the confirmation page said "Please allow up to 30 business days for the NVC to complete the review." After 30 days, I called NVC and they said it could take up to 45 days. After 45 days I called and the guy said it could take 60 days. So today I call (69 days.. was too busy the last few days) and the representative says my DS-260 was "locked" (due to the computer bugs) and couldn't be accessed by those needing to do the review. She said she would send it to a supervisor to unlock it, and it could take another 2 weeks to review and complete my case. I really hope that's all it takes.

Apparently they just fixed the computer locking issue over the July 4th 4 day shutdown. She also said they don't know if a DS-260 is locked, so she was glad I called.
