My wife has an interview in the month of march.

I have two simple questions:

1) When will she get passport back once she will pass in the interview ? is it on the same day or a next day. We have selected pickup option from VFS office of Mumbai.

2) When do we need to pay $165 immigration fee ? is it after she will pickup passport from the VFS office and before leaving to USA ?

Today,my lawyer clarified the same thing. Since I have paid $230 ealier then I do not have to pay now.

I have paid a) "Payment Receipt for IV case" = $230 b) AOS Fee Payment = $88 to NVC to there website when I have submitted DS230 1 and DS230 2 forms earlier.

So this "Immediate Relative and Family Preference Applications- $230" is a separate Fee on top of what I have paid earlier ? Please clarify.

My wife interview for CR1 is in March 2013 at Mumbai Consulate. I have few questions. I will really appreciate if someone can clarify some of my doubts...

1) Appointment Letter - I have received email from NVC with attached pdf copy of appointment letter. I did not receive any hardcopy from NVC by regular mail.

In medical test and interview at consulate,the print out copy of appointment letter will work or they need actual hard copy of appointment letter from NVC ?

2) Creating a Profile at Mumbai Consulate : When do we need to create profile at consulate website ? Any time after receiving appointment letter in email or after

medical test ?

3) New USCIS Immigrant Fee : My application is CR1 : I am assuming I need to Pay $230 fee by BANK DRAFT ? is that true ?

Immediate Relative and Family Preference Applications- $230

4) When do we need to submit draft ? during interview or when we collect the passport ?

5) What should be her dress code ? Western or Indian ?

What is the best,safe and reliable way to send visa documents from Gujarat (India) to USA ? Any sugession.

The name of the travel agent in ahmedabad who can make ur passport asap is Lovely Air Travels , Gf 4,Trade Centre,Stadium Circle,Navrangpura, Ahmedabad-380009. I don't have their number.

The NVC letter that u mentioned is exactly the one that I am talking about. However, you would still require atleast an email with the interview date.. you will not be able to get PCC without atleast an email copy of the interview letter/date. Even you mentioned in your first thread that people at passport office are asking for interview letter inorder to get a PCC.

Also, If you do not have interview date or letter then how did u get the information that u hav to have PCC or other documents inorder to schedule the interview?

One more information..keep an additional print out (i.e. original copy) of Affidavit of Support (AOS)..they might ask for original copy once again at the time of interview

One more question : I did not get it Affidavit of Support thing. I have fillup and signed Affidavit of Support Form and will submit to NVC. You are saying that I need to also make a copy of it and send it to my wife for interview?

We need to get new Police certificate from local police station. It will take almost 2 months to do this .

A – u need to go thru a travel agent..they can get u a new passport in 5 working days..i stay in ahmedabad..if u wish I can suggest u the name of travel agents in ahmedabad. Also..i guess u already have ur PVC - POLICE VERIFICATION CERTIFICATE..SO a normal PCC process should not take more than 10 to 15 working days.

2) Also They want interview letter from NVC then only they will issue PCC.

A – very important document – INTERVIEW LETTER FROM NVC..have u got an letter that gives u a date of interview or hav u recd any email with the date of interview. Only proceed further if u hav ur date of interview.

I did not receive my interview letter from NVC but I recd an email with my interview appointment scheduled...so I submitted my petition approval letter and NVC approval letter that my fiancé recd in US. This letter should have a bar code on it.

pgupta - Thanks for the reply. We have been told that there is no TATKAL in Rajkot.Waiting for 2 months does not make any sense. Is it true there is no TATKAL in GUJARAT or Rajkot ?

Swehun : 1) Please let me know the name and address of the passport agent. That would be great. Our Police Verification certificate is almost

ready. We told them to hold it because of name issue. They may need Police Verification Certificate on new name.

2) I do not have interview letter. I need to submit all documents along with PCC then only they will schedule interview.

What barcode letter are you referring ? I have received one letter which has barcode and NYC case number and also it has

information of Affidavit of Support (AOS) Processing fee bill invoice /immigration Visa Application Processing Fee Bill Invoice.

Need help getting passport clearance certificate from Rajkot Passport Office

My wife is tring to obtain the PCC certificate from Rajkot passport office and she was told the following things:

My wife's current passport was issued before marriage and has her original maiden name.

1) They want my name to be included in it. This can be done only if my wife will request for reissue of passport which will take 45 business days.

We need to get new Police certificate from local police station. It will take almost 2 months to do this .

2) Also They want interview letter from NVC then only they will issue PCC.

Not sure what to do here. It does not make any sense.

I will appreciate your help/suggesion/advice. what should I do ?
