  1. i am so pissed off USCIS approved my i-129f on January 2, 2013 and i didnt hear anything from the NVC and i kept calling and emailing. So today i receive a email update from USCIS and i check it now i have a new approval date of January 25,2012... SO THEY MESSED UP AND FORGOT TO SEND MY PAPERWORK TO NVC SO THEY CAN DO THEIR PART AND SEND IT TO THE US EMBASSY SO THEY JUST CHANGED THE APPROVAL DATE TO GIVE THEMSELVES ANOTHER 15 DAYS TO SEND IT TO THE NVC..WRRRRRRRRRRRR

  2. Don't listen to what they tell you about waiting 15 days. If they don't have your petition yet, keep calling them every day. Call them every day until you have your case number, and afterwards that they have sent your petition to the embassy. It only takes a couple days to arrive at NVC, maybe a couple days to process and then they send it off again.

They tell everyone to wait 15 days, they said that to me the first time I called them. I called the next day and the nice lady I talked to said she had the petition and even asked me if I wanted the case number. I called a couple days later and they already sent it to the embassy. Don't give up, keep bugging NVC about it until you have the information you need. YOU are in a hurry to get your interview appointment, not NVC.

i called again today and was today they dont have any record of my case in their system but i have a friend who looked up my file to see where it is at and said it was received by the NVC yesterday morning..why are they playing games wrrrrrrrrr

Thank you alot you have help me so much

  4. Wait for the paper copy of the NOA2 to come in the mail, and then start calling NVC every day to get your case number and see if they have sent it to the embassy. It will only stay at NVC a couple days so it should be sent rather quickly to the embassy. During this time, you need to make sure your fiancee has her birth certificate, police report, and at least 6 passport style photos. You need to start gathering the information for the I-134 form, affidavit of support. You will need a letter of employment, recent paystubs, and last 3 years tax transcripts.

When NVC has confirmed they have sent it to the embassy, wait a few days and send the embassy an email, with your case number as the subject. Ask them if they have received your petition. If they have, they will reply to you with the K-1 visa instructions. You can also at this time pay the visa fee and book the interview appointment. When the appointment is booked, have your fiancee make an appointment with one of the panel doctors to have your medical exam. My fiancee went to Dr. Dennis, he was very nice and very professional.

Also at this time you can start filling in the DS-156, DS-156k, and DS-230 forms.

Would the case number be the alien registration number?

  6. Yeah, I called yesterday and they said they're still working on July 16th, the same date they told me when I called on the 20th. The "outside of normal processing time" definition is kinda misleading because although my petition is just now over 5 months old (the processing time listed on their website), it's not technically because they're working on 7/16...which is what they're using to measure 5 months, not FIVE.ACTUAL.MONTHS...ugh. Sorry, had to vent. Hopefully soon we'll hear something. I was told to call back on the 4th.

the worst part of this is i work for department of homeland security-ICE and i cant get anything done haha
