  1. I know, I sure hope they get their act together on the K1's and start catching up. I noticed you are an August filer, so this has gotta be excruciating for you. Home stretch! Looking at the charts, it seems as though they start speeding up around this time. It must be the holidays. Government workers are already slow. Now throw in the holidays, and forget about it!! LOL....I was hoping the whole process would take 6 months to see my love, but I think the NOA2 alone will take that time...then another 2-3 months for NVC, interview, etc....

lets hope so.my hubby and i are doing a i130 and our first rec was feb6 of 2012 so a yr next month and still nothing.so we are still waiting even to get approved from uscis

  2. Unfortunately until the background check is complete your case will not move. Statistically in 80% of cases the results are back in 2 weeks. In 20% of cases theres a discrepancy and it can take up to 6 months to resolve. In apx 1% of cases it takes longer then 6 months.

However, I highly doubt that you are in the 20% or the 1% where a discrepancy was found causing your case to stall. Rather because of the country you are adjusting from-Iran, you are subject to administrative processing (AP). It can be a long process. I would advise you to search the forums for more info on it. (either search for administrative processing or AP, just be advised that on Visajourney AP also stands for advanced parole- a travel document)

    THANK YOU

  3. we are in the same boat we had service request and they said call if we did not hear within 6 mos but we are waiting for 10 months already.. they said they are doing background check and additional review.. but i know our papers is sitting in their desk..and they did not do anything yet! so hang in there.. You are not alone,. we are all in this together!

THANKS ALOT YOU KNOW SOME TIMES U FEEL SO ALONE IN THIS THANKS

  5. I'm gonna go with Nola. I think they are actually working on the first week of June. I think they are on June 4th based on about three out of four June 4th apps being approved last week and end of December. Hopefully, anyways!! :)

Though they seem like they are taking forever to move along. They had about an average of around 2500 apps/week in May and June. So that's the main reason they are taking so long. Although, I wonder if the processors have slowed down for some reason.

my husband and i have been waiting it will be a yr feb 6th 0f 2012

  6. i'm not really sure if the VJ timelines are accurate. yesterday they're processing saptember 23 and now it moved back to July. it's the same thing that happened last New Year(though it can be some typo errors) . it's just so sad that they're actually processing 1 day at a time. i only hope that they will speed up because i feel like 100+ days are too much for initial review. Good luck to all filers

yes i agree its so slow and we had a friend that went to norway from iran took him 8 months .and im sure uscis dont feel guilty at all it takes so long and the stress we as ppl waiting to be with our love ones.jan 16 still noting will be a yr in 2 weeks.

  7. Next week it will be 7 months since we got our NOA1. I wish somehow my file would have ended up at CSC instead of VSC. I have called VSC twice and they keep telling me "it is within normal processing time" and that I have to wait. I also had my congressman contact them and they said the same thing. I used an attorney to file my case and he says he cannot do anything and we just have to wait. I am looking at all the people who filed a month after me (July '12) and got their NOA2 from VSC and cannot help but to think something is wrong with my file. I have not gotten an RFE and I don't know if there is a problem with my file, or if it got lost, or it is because my fiance (she) is from Iran. I was also born in Iran and now naturalized US citizen and perhaps that has something to do with it too... maybe the background check and everything else just takes longer time. Any suggestions or words of wisdom or any advice would be greatly appreciated... I cannot go to Iran to visit her and she cannot come to the US to visit me... so we are just waiting... we have managed to meet in another country (Turkey) twice just to make the waiting more bearable!!! It sucks and I wish I could go to Iran to vist her but I cannot legally go to Iran (even though I was born there.... long story). Thank you visajourney and all members. I wish everyone the best and hope your cases get approved. The only good thing that comes out of this long wait is that I know we will appreciate each other more once she comes here.

hang in there .my hubby and i got our first noa1 feb 6 of 2012 .we have used laawyer congressman all still same thing . so jeb 6 will be a yr for us .we are in same boat i cant go to iran he cant here .know its so sad to be kept away from the one u love. we also go to turkey but the cost is hard for us .sucks but stay strong.

  8. Yea, mine has been fluctuating too. I'm up to Feb 9 now from mid March, so I'm sure it's just based off members accurately filling in theirntimelines recently. Looking at the trend it does appear like the volume of applications is decreasing during the last month or two, which is a good sign I am assuming. Less to process? I have been ressearchin and the prevails do seems like they have been roughly accurate for the most part with a few exceptions. My case is very straightforward and I am positive that I have sent a thorough and complete packet wit the help of lots of friends who have married someone from Iran. I just was curious if they do the cases in batches and if anyone else who filed in the same timeframe is hearing anything or seeing the same estimates??

Thanks for all your replies. Thank god for this site as it has been more than helpful in this looooooooong process!

my husband and i got our first letter jeb 6 it is now jan and havnt had noting done he is from iran so dont count on any thing for at least a yr or more

  9. IF U CALL THEM AND THE TIME IS OVER 5 MONTH TIME U ASK FOR A WRITIN REASON FOR THE DELAY AND WITH IN 2 WEEKS U GET A REPLY BY MAIL .TO U THIS IS HOW I FOUND OUT CALLING AND ASKING DONT DO A THING . AND TO BE HONEST VT IS SLOW ON EVERY THING .YES I HAVE GOTA SENATOR INVOLVED AS OF LAST WEEK.SO WE WILL SEE I DID HAVE A CONGRESSMAN BUT HIS STAFF WAS NO HELP,THEY DID AS MUCH AS I COULD ...LOL I WAS TOLD A FBI CK WAS TO BE DONE IN 5 MONTHS ...LOL AS OF SEPT 17 THEY SAY NOT RECEVED FROM FBI AND CASE IS DORMENT TO CALL IF I DONT HEAR IN 6 MONTHS OMG . SO I CALL OFTEN TO THEM .I SEE THIS TO BE A LONG WAIT .I DO BELIVE IT DONT HELP THATS HES FROM IRAN.WHAT I FIND STUPID HIS FRIEND APPLIED FOR A STUDENT VISA AND GOT IT IN 3 MONTHS

  10. Does anyone have any clue what may be the cause of my delay?

my hubby and i applied feb6 they receved ouri130 form and money it is now nov 26 and all we get is name ck for fbi and case is dorment .as of sept 17 they told us if we dont hear in 6 months to call . i have a lawyer congressman and senator and all get same thing waiting for fbi . so your not the only one thats confused and going crazy chin up your not alone on this .

  11. I can only speak of my own experience. I am a US Citizen (Iranian born) and my wife is Iranian. Whereas most people who have filed around the time we did have received their NOA2, we are still awaiting ours. I think it might have something to do with either I, my wife, or both are Iranian born. I hope you won't experience the same problem but it's good to have realistic expectations.

As for lawyers: Sometimes I wish I had hired one, but for a simple case like ours I did not deem it necessary. Others can chime in if using one can somehow render the process more smooth or not.

I CAN ONLY SPEAK FOR MY SELF BUT IT DONT HELP ANY MORE TO HAVE ATT. USCIS RECIEVED OUR I130 ON FEB 6 2012 IT IS NOW NOV 26 AND STILL NOTHING .THEY KEEP SAYING WAITING FOR NAME CK ...FBI SO WE WAIT AND WAIT
