  1. My case was aporoved on march 27, 2013 and until now no case number and nvc havent received it yet. I have been calling nvc and uscis back and forth but nrver got my case number. Nvc says that we havent recieved your case and send us a scanned copy of ur noa2, which I did two weeks ago. And on the other hand uscis says we dont know where ur case might br. It seems like no one knows where is my case? ?? Here I'm stuck in between both offices crying and begging for help from everyone. I lost my sleep and got onto anti depressant medication. Nothing is helping and I hope that someone could help me here or somehow guide me on what to do.... I even contacted my congressman that helped me get my noa2. I havent heard nothing feom her as well. Soooo lost and confuse... someone plz help me :(:crying::help:

No need to panic, it takes nvc forever to get hold of the case. Its in their mailroom waiting to be entered in their system is when those reps know they got it. Mine took over a month to get case number.Relax, they have it in their facility

  2. My wife had medicals done at Apollo hospital,Chennai and got her report today. They gave us brown sealed envelope that seems to carry the med report but I doubt there is an X-ray in this sealed envelope since they are usually big. They have not given her anything else,I think there's been a mistake with x-ray and tried calling apollo but their staff are incompetent and unresponsive. Anyone else had their medicals at apollo?? Is there a x-ray in the sealed envelope,if there is,do they IO return them at the consulate to take it with us at POE??

Second problem she had to take MMR vaccine, which she took her first dose at medicals and 2nd dose to be taken 4 weeks later. With the interview in 2 days,is this going to be a guaranteed RFE or 221g or will she be eligible to get the second dose in US?

Any help would be appreciative,am getting worried about all this? :(

  3. Great, thanks for the details. Quick question, where did u take ur medical test and how much was the fee for it?, if by any chance ur from hyderabad, can you please post the address of the doctor or any link where u can find the list of authorized doctors, thanks.

The list of doctors are available on the mumbai consular website under immigrant visa category. If you need all tge vaccines expect around 5000 rs

  4. I have appointment at 7.30A.M on April 4rth.... ...We went to consulate by 6.20AM....they asked to stand in line immediately after we went there(Immigration and non immigration lines are different)....So we stood in immigration line.....We completed security check.....Entered inside of the consulate....

Two Token numbers received by 6.50A.M.....which sticked to appointment letter starting with "S"......

Interviewed by Indian officer at 7.10A.M....

One token number took from the appointment letter.....

Returned the documents which we submitted to NVC...

    And she asked medical reports...

    Submitted medical reports...

She asked only one question to me...

Have u ever been to USA?

After that i have long wait for American officer (AO)to be interviewed by him..

Due to budget cuts i think, there were only three AO officers....

So that it took a time to be interviewed by AO officer...

Around 10.30A.M ,I was called by American officer....

He is in late 50's...and very nice...and smiling....

    Me :Good morning!

    HE:Good morning.

    HE:How r u?

    Me:fine ,How r u?

    He:fine....when did u guys meet?

    Me:.....

HE: why did u went USA?

    Me:.....

HE:Is your marriage is arranged or love?

    Me:....

HE:From how many days do you know him before marraige?

    Me.....

He is typing everything what i am saying....

He:Is this first marriage for u or second marriage?

    ME:....

    HE:For u r husband?

    Me:....

HE:What happened to his first marriage?

    ME:....

HE:Did he has any children from first marriage?

    Me:

HE:when did he married for first time?

    Me:...

    HE:He asked for photos...

    ME:Gave the photo album...

HE:Asked about some photos .who they are....

    Me:Answered everything...

He: He asked me that why i did not give a smile in wedding photos?

HE: Do u like your marriage?

Me: I told that i just felt embarrassed before all of them....

He :U both have big age difference...

Me: I explained that is common in our customs.......

    HE:Rised thumb ....

    Me:I also rised thumb...

    He: U are approved....

Me:Very happily seen his face....and shaking my head(In Indian way) telling him ok to what he is saying.....

He also imitating me by shaking head ....

I just laugh ....He also laughed...My interview ended happily.....

Quick question: do they offer u an opportunity to pick up the passport at vfs office in Mumbai before they ship it to local vfs office u picked at ustraveldocs site? If not, how long did it take to get your visa on hand? Thanks again

  6. My wife got her interview in may. I have a question does she need to change her passport or anything she has fnu or does it take a long process in india.

Had the same problem. It is highly recommended to get a new passport, google s FNU in usa and you can read the nightmare ppl had to go thru after arriving here

  7. hi,

my name is akash. i married in nov.2011. my wife living in nevada USA and she has green card of USA. my wife apply my spouse visa i-130 pition for aline relative for USA last Feb 2012. my case status show in initial review and not any change in processing period so due to this reason i am very confuse. can every one tell me how long take time to get spouse visa for usa no mail and no any call from uscis please help me what can i do???????????

You can check the timelines on uscis, but I think spouse of green card holder takes at least 2 years so check your priority date and refer with website

  8. I called NVC twice yesterday asking if I file an extension for taxes, is it ok if I just submit a copy of that towards I-864. Both times the rep told me that yes in that case I should submit a copy of 2011 tax return, a copy of extension for 2012, and a letter explaining that I filed for an extension and blah...

So my plan is that I will file for an extension, and do the tax return after my wife is here in the US (which should hopefully be before Oct 15).

Hi, what did you put in the SSN field of the spouse? I am trying to file an extension through H&R and it won't let me proceed without putting the SSN number of the spouse.

they should not be asking for your wifes ssn, i strongly recommend turbotax, its completely FREE and got it approved in few hours! just 2 step procedure

  9. Thank u for your advice. I had submitted loads of photos, receipts etc to the uscis too. Does the uscis share all this with the consulate? i'm asking coz the CO asked my fiance for the same documents that had been previously been submitted. We submitted everything again.

I would think they share everything, hope your fiancee was able to provide everything as well. Red flag in your case most likely is previous marriage. I'm not sure abt calling DOS might be give u some more details, would try anyway.

  10. I am no expert, however, if your denial was based on lack of bonafide relationship, then getting married and figuring out what went wrong the first time around would help with your next petition. My K1 was denied too in 2011, we married and file 130, no RFE and approved at 10 months. You can check my timeline as we are now at the NVC stage and waiting for a case completion. I am sorry for your denial, but I understand because I have been there. Go get marry after you figure out what went wrong with the first petition. It will just be sent back and will likely expire. Good luck.

This is not entirely true since you still have to go thru the interview again and possibility of denial exists. I read somewhere that most often such cases are put on AP by IO and they let the application expire and make the applicants resubmit medical s, pcc etc, dont know why.

In your case, I recommend to beg for reconsideration at consulate and also visit her and collect more evidence...family pix, functions, parties plays huge role in indian consulates...more the better.Good luck!

  11. Thank you so much for sharing. It really helps. The only document I haven't submitted is the Passport Police Clearance. I ws told by NVC that it should be brought to the interview and not sumbitted at NVC. So does my husband have to sumbit the PCC to VFS on the day of interview or a few days before or do you just bring it to the interview and give it to the Immigration Officer when they ask for it? Do you have anything missing that you need to sumbit as well?

Does page 4 of your appointment letter tell you anything abt it. Vfs made it sound like if any documents need to be submitted,it has to be through them. I would inquire with them again, try their help desk, its easy to get hold of operator.

  12. I would like to know the answer to this one also. If anyone has an answer please do tell us. Thank you!

We called VFS and finally talked to someone who seem to know what she was talking abt. According to her,any documents on packet 4 that was not sent to NVC needs to be submitted. On page 4 of appt.letter, the list is provided and also mentions what needs to be brought to the interview. When asked specifically regarding biographic page of passport mentioned on packet 4 on consular website, she said if your letter doesn't mention it,ignore them. As for courier fee,she informed us that everything is included in IV fees and VFS will direct us on further proceedings on day of interview about any other fees. Hope this is it,please do share if you find anything elsewhere.

  13. It is so confusing, packet 4 doesn't mention anything about VFS and in CR-1 cases, all the originals are sent to NVC and photocopies. But VFS seem to still want the photocopies and logistic courier fee,I hope anyone who finished their interview recently could shed some light into this topic.

I read something from immi-help that I found but am not sure if its outdated information. According to them,on day of interview, you bring :

    original passport

    appointment letter

    VFS logistic fee payment receipt

VFS acknowledgement receipt of submission of documents

    Any inputs appreciated

    Thank you!

  14. I know of 2 other members who's local field office is Philly and were approved between February 1 and February 15th. Both of them have not had the NVC receive their case files. Has there been any recent members with I-130 or I-129 approval from Philly that have had the NVC receive their case. I just scheduled an info pass appointment for the 25th and I'm going to let them know my frustration and dissatisfaction at their incompetence. I have both senators, my representative and Ombudsman involved. I requested the CIS for tracking and they refused to provide it. Case was approved in 74 calendar days, and today is day 43 of waiting for the NVC to receive the flipping case. Seems to me Philly is doing some major SNAFU with our cases.

NVC is taking 30-45 days to hand out case numbers due to huge workload. Take a look at ppl's timeline to see the trend. You should be getting yours any day now, nothing you can do abt it

  15. Hi,

I had my K visa interview at the Mumbai consulate on the 11th of January 2013. At the time I didn't have the right police clearance certificate so I was handed my passport and a white 221g letter asking me to submit the required paperwork. I was able to obtain the right PCC and resubmitted my passport and other documents to the consulate on the 15th of Jan. Since then my case has been under administrative processing.

On the 7th of March my case status on the CEAC website stated that my visa has been issued and printed. I went and collected my passport from the Hyderabad - India OFC collection facility today only to find a white 221g letter stating my case is still under administrative processing???? My passport is without a visa.

On the CEAC website the last update for my case is still 7th March and it still shows my visa has been issued. Anyone know what on earth is going on? Is it common for the CEAC website to display the wrong status or has someone at the local consulate messed up?

I have emailed the Mumbai US consulate and am awaiting a reply. Can anyone help?

    Thanks a bunch.

From the earlier posts on here, somebody mentioned that AP in Mumbai is currently taking 30-60 business days

  16. Hello Everyone!!

Me & my fiance met in August 2012 in India. After 10 days of his vacation he went back to US. Since then we were communicating over phone, e-mails, chatting. Finally in December 2012, he proposed me over a phone & we decided to take our relationship to the next level. (This happened while he was in US & me in India) So he applied for K1 visa in the month of January. Now he is planning to come for a vacation in April 2013 & we intend to have a small engagement ceremony with our closed ones. My question is, whether having a engagement ceremony after applying for K1 visa will affect the process? Do we have to take any extra care while arranging the ceremony? Need suggestions...

Go for it! This will only strengthen your case and not to mention spend some time together
