Hi, EAbbas nice to see you hanging in there..
My wife in pakistan said the same thing to me and we were talking about this "why i can't move to pakistan" recently. i am currently planning on this and SAVING money, it's been 1 year now in AP... To keep it real In news which i listen closely i can see Pakistan is signing deals with China for electricity and Iran for compressed natural gas i don't blame them a bit because "energy is pakistan's top need at the moment" the two country that don't sit well with USA but As for Immigration they will continue to retard the process to pressure pakistan to exit the deal (YES this part of american govt's way).. At the end of the day it is more important to be together with your love1 then the stupid visa...
PS: yes i tried senator, congressman and U.S president--------> they all puppets

i am down with protest... i lived huge chunk of my life here in the states and have found out that if you wait like sheep no body care But as soon as you become Vocal everybody tries to help.. I am not fan of typing all day on internet with no results... E-mailing together is good idea for starters...

YOU RIGHT i don't know why they are refusing to add. It would help alot.
Please edit your timelines to help others going through the same process. It helps others so much and brings comfort while they wait if they can see how long others had to wait for each step in this process.
Could all of you Pakistan people be so kind and update your timelines as best as you can remember. It really helps others going through this wait to see how long others had to wait. And this thread has way too many pages for everyone to read through to see if you might have posted your wait times within in.
It only takes a couple minutes. I will help you

Thank you for your kind input and i hope you are nearing to the end of AP because that's alot of time. You took them to the court once i am sure they will not afford to go there again, that would look really bad on there part. InshAllah you will see your Visa sooner.
StabbingEcstay,
I feel your pain. I know a couple that waited in AP 4 years before they finally got their visa. You can take DOS to court but I would wait until she has been in AP for at least 16 months. Even then once you file the court papers the DOS has 90 days to respond. That's another 3 months! I took DOS to court after 16 months in AP. Our visa was denied because they said we married for immigration purposes. We appealed and won. Our case was sent back to the embassy in Islamabad where they placed us in AP again. After 8 months they are now requesting new DS230, affidavit of support and my husbands passport. For some reason Islamabad loves to put people in AP and leave them there but once they decide to issue the visa they move very quickly.

FOR NEWBS
Administrative Review: Is when your case is being looked at more closely for accuracy and to make sure all security name and fingerprint checks have cleared and your visa can be adjudicated.
Administrative Processing: Means once you have interviewed it is in security checks for any of these situations: you have had a name hit in one of the many data bases, background checks for fraud, or has missing and incomplete information that must be submitted and the rechecked. Processing is more in depth and than the review process and there is no time limit for this processing to complete. Administrative processing can last a few days or months and in some cases it has endured for years.

F-1 visas are for full-time students.
F-2 visas are for spouses and children of F-1 visa holders. SO best thing is to Google it! In my case i am resident of states, so i informed them of my situation. Never the less you can still write to the us president from abroad or if you have somebody living in the states have them write...

I would like to get a hold of the copy as well, if you dont mind. I have waiting since Feb of this yr.
copy of what letter to obama? i see you have different visa so you want to write letter About that. may i ask what is this visa for?
-
Mostly guys go through APs because they have name checks to go through and other security checks as well. But if you read the Visa site carefully, you will see that they ask for 90 days to resolve the AP from the time you have provided them with all necessary documents. In other cases you are also allowed to get in touch with them after 60 days period has passed in AP. During interview they might give you a sheet which says not to bother them by email or phone during AP and they might speak saying that AP takes 4 months, more or less depending on case lengths. And yes women also go through AP. Security check goes for everyone but women have a lower probability of going in AP as to what I have learned from this forum....
That's true i emailed them and they said not to bother them. what's up with this AP. My wife Interview had no objection since june 2012 and they kept her passport, so what is the point of this process? I ask new york senator Gillabrand to ask us embassy islamabad on my behalf.. 2 weeks later received letter from senator stating "her case is undergoing AP, a normal part of the visa application process, that can be neither EXPEDITED nor WAIVED. please understand(LOL) that we are unable to predict the amount of time this will require. However, once the AP is complete, we will contact her" currently am working on my letter to the president obama...
