My work permit/AP it would expire soon. How do I renew that? My attorney charges for that, can I do it by my self? Does anyone know?

nardah everything is fine with Vawa. The changes proposed did not pass the house,the House Republicans have blocked the re-authorization of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) and then officially expired, but Vawa is in effect.

Ok great that is all fine, what were the changes they were proposing? I got scared for a min......is the funding affected in any way though?

Hi Sandra I want to CRY because never was in my life in like that situation , I do everything trough my lawyer my friends helps me with money I don't know when I will be able to return back ... Ohhh the Lowyer told me I have to send check because that will be more quickly , and I will receive my work authorization , I don't know what to do simply I wait the miracle , I m tired really ... I thinking to go home to Europe because I can not survive anymore ....(((

I've said many times, for those who come to the USA legally and with good intentions best of luck. do your paperworks, RFE's, get your assistance etc. get approved and stay safe. The liars, cheats and scammers need to go back to where they came from...America already has enough of them. I think VAWA knows that!

My Vawa was approved today,it took 18months exactly.Do not give up guys ,your approval is on the way.This forum really helped me alot.Thanks guys.you all are in my prayers.

Congrats nardah! I also applied last week(filled my forms and gave my attorney on the 28th) but no news yet. That was pretty fast. Is this a new application or renewal.I really need to get it by the end of the month. Thanks

Why are u letting anyone discourage u. The internet is not a safe place entirely. My husband abuse me and got a free pass I REFUSE to let anyone abuse me be it physical,verbal etc. NEVER again. For the truly abused men and women here, I wish you luck and justice. That is "supposed to be" the USA. But the cheaters should go home. We don't need those people here in the USA. That is my opinion.
