Definitely be interested to see the outcome. As nitas says, these visas are often refused so it will be of use to others to see a step by step thread on it.

Hi there, we had decided to apply for SB1 visa , and we were approved.

On july 15th 2018 we have entered USA

Now after entering USA the process is very unclear, there is no information what’s next in the process.

  2. Hi There , I am looking for advice from members that had an experience with SB1 visa (also known as Returning Resident visa) process after POE

Recently I was issued an SB1 visa and I came back in USA in the end of July 2018

but my confusion is what’s next.

As I am not sure what is the procedure after entering USA

On the border, the officer told me that he is taking my green card for renewal, said Welcome in USA , gave me a new A-number and said wait the new green card in the mail

so he suggested not to do nothing and just wait  4-6 months to receive my new green card in the mail

But reading some post I saw people returning on SB1 visa are applying for I-90 for renewal of their green card

so I called USCIS, asking them to clear the process for me : should I apply for I-90 or just wait ?

the customer service officer was not sure , he Forwarded me to  a Tier 2 officer, who told me that I am supposed to fill I-90 for renewal of the green card with my old A-number , not with the new one. ( its confusing to have two A- numbers too)

So here is why my confusion :

the officer on the border said don’t fill any form , the new green card will come in the mail 4-6 month from date of entry , but the officer from USCIS said  that I shoul apply for I -90 , pay the fee and then a new green card will be produced with my old A-number

who is right in your opinion?

What path should I take as already 2 months are gone from the date of entry

please , help me with advice especially people that had already entered USA on returning resident visa SB1

    share your experience, please.

    thank you in advance

  3. Hey guys , i need your advise as i have a complicated situation

Last year in November 2016 i have obtained my 10 years Green card /valid till 2026/ as being married to my husband - US Citizen

We have been married from November 2013 and still are happily married and together from 2012.

Last year 2016 our family moved from NJ to TX for a job opportunity , but while switching jobs and with no health insurance at this moment i had a medical emergency situation - i landed in Emergency room in Houston hospital

Long story short - they suspected need of surgery that would be very costly - either appendicitis either sharp inguinal hernia - not 100% conclusion

As the bill for emergency room was USD 15000 , and no health insurance , no money in bank to continue the check ups

In this emergency situation , we made a decision to fly back to my country to make the medical exams and eventually the surgery

On December 3rd 2016 we flied from USA to Europe

Long story short - few weeks medical exams , few months in pain in bed - final medical conclusion - spinal nerve hernia - no surgery , only shots , limited walking ....

Now December 2017 , almost 2018 , we want to move back in USA , but i have overstayed more than 1 year outside USA

We have maintained our bank accounts in USA , we have our own property there - in NJ , we pay our mortgage , bills , we receive our mail there , pay my medical dues and so on

But i am afraid that i will not be let in USA at the POE if we just book a flight

My husband thinks that we can just fly back , but i think that there will be problems at the POA

Do i need to apply for a SB1 visa - returning resident visa , or i am eligible to enter USA ?

Please help me with advise as time is in the essence...

Do anyone was let in USA after long time outside USA ?

  4. We received our new Greencards today. (Myself and two dependent children) Approved 11/15, cards left UCIS 11/23 and arrived this afternoon. Its also our 3 year wedding anniversary today! Time has flown by!

We have exactly the same dates, but unfortunately our cards are still somewhere in transit. Tracking number 5 days is only showing that were accepted by USPS. A little worried...

  5. Wanted a share the excellent news with our family here. You have no idea how helpful and supportive the VisaJourney family has been to us. We can not thank you all enough. You all have been there to help us with our questions and concerns and encouragements. These meant a whole lot in our difficult and long journey.

On November 7, 2016, we ordered your new card for Receipt Number WACxxxxxxx, and will mail it to the address you gave us. If you move, go to

    www.uscis.gov/addresschange

to give us your new mailing address.

Did you guys had received physical GC already? I wonder how many days from approval till received GC in mail , just trying to make some plans and buy flight tickets before the prices get crazy. In my observation is like 10 days or I am wrong ?

  6. Aww congrats.

I wish I get the status update too. I just went to dentist and might have to pay 900.00 for canal treatment! That's like whole ticket for poland and doing it there is cheaper. Uscis is just killing me :( I can wait week or two with it but it needs to be done. Give uscis extra 1-2 weeks befire making decision? Maybe...

I am in the same boat , I had to go to emergency room , $12,000 bill for 3 hours ?!?!? I need to fly to my country for treatment , healthcare is free there . I am giving them 1 week and I just fly . I need to be there at least for 3-4-5 months .

  7. 1. Congratulations on your approval!!! :D :D :D

    2. Am I the only one having problems with the website? Everytime I try to check my case status the page won't load :'(

The "Check case status " page is down since 2pm today . i received notification on my phone that case status changed , tought its approval  , but it turned out they washed out all the info in their system , since then the page is down. :protest:

  8. Hello! - Yes we returned on Tuesday night. They did ask to look at the extension letter at our departure airport (London Heathrow, BA terminal 5) and I showed it upon entry at Austin airport as I announced upon arrival at the desk that our GC's had expired and that I had an extension letter to show them. They did also look at the three stamped letters showing we had attended our Biometrics appointments but there really wasn't any doubt, they politely looked at everything I was throwing at them!

Anyway, my point is that despite my children not being listed on the extension letter (which is your concern) it was understood that as minors they were included under the same, single application number & letter and there were no problems with this. Take your biometric appointment letters along with you in addition if you want further documentation for piece of mind. .

Thank you for sharing , I am glad that everything went smoothly for you .

  9. I will update you in a few days! We're due to fly back in on Tues 8/16. Our cards expired on 7/25. I have the extension letter and the biometrics appointment letters for each of us stamped with proof of attendance that we completed our biometrics appointments back in June on me. I don't anticipate any issues and don't see why there should be any.

Thank you, I will appreciate sharing your experience. I assume you have already came back successfully.

  10. No, i only got one letter, with no mention on it about my children either. I will be travelling back from London in Aug with them after all of our GC's expire so I will be bringing that letter with us and assuming that it covers all of us because it is all one application.

Hi Kiwinyc , just wanted to ask you if you had returned from London did you had problems entering not having extension letter for your two children. Did the letter for you worked for them too. I am still concerned not having one for my child and the GC expires tomorrow. Please share your experience if you have time. Thank you
