Congratulations on your recent marriage!

Your wife will first receive her permanent resident card (green card). She can be a permanent resident for years and years...and never apply for U.S. citizenship.

However, if she chooses to become a U.S. citizen, she renounces all allegiances (Philippines) and effectively loses her Philippine citizenship.

According to Philippines' Citizenship Retention and Re-acquisition Act, you may then maintain your Philippine citizenship. Under their modified Oath of Allegiance, applicants for dual citizenship swear to support and defend the Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines. Nowhere in the Oath is there any renouncing of allegiance.

From what I understand, Global Express relies on the Philippine postal service for final delivery. FedEx uses Air21, a private company (at least in the provinces). If the post office that serves your fiance is reliable, it's probably fine. If not, FedEx will probably provide a bit more piece of mind.

I went with FedEx and my only real complaint is that once they turned over the package to their agent, there was no tracking available until days after it was delivered (one day ahead of schedule).

On our case it is actual FEDEX who delivered it. Got there in 4days!!

I used USPS global express guaranteed, transport and delivered by FEDEX took 4days to Pangasinan. Cost $80 for about 2lbs. Instead going to actual FEDEX retail store and UPS. It's cheaper and safe too.

I used Global Expess Guaranteed by USPS and delivered by FedEX.

It has been over a month for us and still no case number they wont even confirm they have our case from USCIS and our NOA2 was 4/10/13 I hope you hear good news soon

try calling USCIS and ask for tier 2, then ask them when did they actually sent your petition.. hope it works!
