Hey Guys
I received my EAD card today. I have to say though that they cheated me on one thing....they said it is valid from 12/12/06 (i knew it was approved then due to my congressman, however i only had my biometrics done last week for both 1-485 & 1-765) ...i only got the approval email Monday....man thats kind of annoying. But hey, at least i have it finally.
Thanks to all those who responded

Thanks for your reply lisanne, you have made my day
. I will be sure to check the mail box regularly this week!

Thanks
So in other words, the approval letter contains the EAD card?

Hey
I got an email yesterday that my EAD approval letter has been sent. Do i receive another email saying that the card production has been ordered?
I've noticed on people's timelines that sometimes the production of the card is ordered prior to the approval email and then sometimes vice versa.
Cheers.

Hi
Ive posted this issue on here but no one responded, so i thought i would try again with a different topic title.
I just thought it was interesting that my EAD was approved (Dec 12th, 2006) before i had my Biometrics done (on 30th Jan, 2007).
It just seems interesting that this happened and i wanted to share this info.
Cheers.

Hi
I found myself in the same situation a few months ago. Basically, i did not get all the info that was required in 97 days. This reasons is that i had to apply for an I-824 (which im still waiting on) to show proof that i had applied for a K-1 visa in the first place (thats what i entered the country on, go figure). So what i did was provide them with all the information i could minus the proof of K-1 visa application, plus a letter explaining why i could not provide the K-1 visa info.
Everything turned out fine. They accepted this and my case was resumed.
Thus, write a letter explaining why an extension is required...the address is listed on the yellow RFE form.
Good Luck

Hi
Quick question. I just made a portfolio on the USCIS website and i added all my 3 cases in my profile.
I noticed that it had the Last Update for my 1-485 and I-765 as updated yesterday even though my case status has not changed.
Im assuming this is good news as my EAD was approved on December 12, 2006 pending on my biometrics which were only done a few days ago (for both 1-765 and I-485) on January 30, 2007.
Does anyone have any idea on what this could mean?

Hi
Thanks for that info. I called the info line and confirmed that my prints were received and returned on the same day as my biometrics on 30/01/2007.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, im praying that i receive it next week sometime but ive become pessimistic dealing with USCIS, ha.

Hi
I finally had my biometrics done 6 months after i applied for AOS/EAD. My EAD was approved on December 12th, 2006 and my biometrics were done on January 30th, 2007.
Im aware that my EAD should arrive in the mail but im wondering how long it should take to recieve it in the mail, especially since my EAD was already approved, pending biometrics.
My congresswoman said it should take 2-4 weeks and if not then i can contact her to chase it up.
Has anyone else had a similar experience?
Thanks

Hi
I had my biometrics yesterday in Charlotte, NC after a long wait (almost 6 months).
My EAD was approved last month on December 12th and im just wondering how long it should take until i receive my EAD card?
Thanks.

Hi
Thanks for your replies.
The only question i have is what 90 days are you talking about??? I applied way back in August...well over 90 days..my EAD was already approved prior to biometrics in December.
They obviously forgot about my biometrics as my appointment is for 30th Jan...almost 6 months after i applied.

Hi
I finally got a biometrics appointment (filed AOS & EAD back in August) for 30th Jan in Charlotte, NC.
Basically, i got my local congress rep involved as it was taking far longer than it should. So one day the office called stating that they had recieved a fax from USCIS which was a biometrics appointment notice on 01/08/06. Then while i was on the phone, she informed me she just received an email stating that my EAD was approved back on Dec 12,2006.
Basically, it said that even though it was approved it is awaiting my biometrics.
Can anyone tell me how soon i should receive my EAD once my biometrics is done?
It seems like they forgot about my biometrics which is why this has happened?
Thank-You

Hi
I just wanted to update my info here on VJ and i hope it will be helpful to some.
I filed for my AOS & EAD back on August 6, 2006...the problem is that i never received info to appear for biometrics, so by November i decided to get in touch with my local congress (district office), after not getting anywhere with the call centre.
I had been in touch with my local office for a while, and i got a great call today informing me that USCIS had sent a fax stating that i need to appear for biometrics for my 1-485 & for my I-765, then while on the phone they received an email stating that my EAD was approved on the December 12. 2006, and that it is waiting on my biometrics.
I just have to wait for my appointment and then wait for the paperwork to be on its way.
Basically, because i went to my local district office my EAD is finally getting sorted, who knows how long it would have taken otherwise?
I hope this can give someone help who may be going through the same problem.

Hi
I think what they mean is the time between when it was transfered, then there was some before it was recieved from the CSC office and then updated in the system once this occurred. I had the same thing happen so i just assume it just a way of updating the process.
-
No, the EAD is my main concern. I know for a fact my AOS has not been denied, as my congresswoman just recently got the 1-485 & 1-824 transfered to CSC, and i know for a fact that my applications for these both have the correct address as i have been receiving my updates at the correct address for these applications.
The only concern i have is for the EAD as thats the one that the address may not have been updated for as i stated in the previous post.
Thanks.

Can someone tell me judged on the information below as to whether i should schedule an Infopass appointment judged on the following:
(when i checked the infopass schedule it did not give me the option of being able to choose the I-765 option, but it did say i can choose to ask a question to someone at the office or speak with an immigration officer etc) Someone also stated that i should file an I-865-any advice??
Hi
I filed my 1-765, 1-485 back on August 6, 2006/ reciept notice August 14th and its now January and still i have not had biometrics. Im sure this happens to alot to other people, im just curious.
I had to change my address on August 21, 2006 by calling the service center and also filing AR-11. The receipt for the change of address only had the 1-485 case on it, so i called to call center and they advised to wait until i recieved another notice stating that they had also changed my address for the 1-765-she said it was definately on its way (the reason she said this is because i had reciept numbers for these change of address given to me by the call center-thus she beleived it had been already done). By december 1 still no letter, so i called the call center to change the address again for the I-765.
I now have my congress rep involved, and so far my 1-485, 1-824 have been transfered to California early in December 2006.
But, still no word on my I-765. The local congress rep is now trying to work on finding out whats holding up my I-765, we have a feeling it may have been the address muck up (that the service center did!!). But i guess its anyone's guess.
I called the call center today to no avail of course....i thought maybe i could schedule an infopass apointment, but she said i needed to wait 45 days until the last change of address took place until i can do anything about it.
Does anyone have any ideas on whats going on?
Thanks.

Hi
No i never filed I-865...i never heard of this form. I contacted the call center to change address and also filed the AR-11, it didnt say anywhere i read that my husband needed to file this form. Should i get him to file this ASAP? How would this affect my case? Yeah, im definately working with my congresswoman, her reps have been very helpful.

Hey
I had same problem. You need to file an I-824-you can download from uscis website, just look for forms. Good Luck.

Social Security
in Working & Traveling During US Immigration
Posted · Edited by koolkat66
Hi
Well i got my EAD card on wednesday and i went into the Social Security office yesterday to apply for a new card, for a change of name and to show i am eligible to work.
I got SSN back in 1999 when i first came to the USA and worked on a J-1 visa. I kept this document in case i planned to work in the USA in the future.
I basically showed them my passport, EAD card, Marriage Certificate and application for a new card. USCIS has not updated my details in their system yet so i may have to wait a little while. They photocopied my documents and are going to check if they match with USCIS records etc. They said normally it takes 10 days but it may take longer depending on USCIS. The office was really nice and i asked if i can still look for work even though i dont have my new card yet. I was informed yes, but that my application can be denied because my details are not correct. Hmmmm so basically i guess what he was saying is that its best to wait for my new card? I just hope its not another long wait, since ive been waiting since August just to be able to work.
