  1. We also received an RFE this month, but I was really happy to get this. I already realized what document that I forgot to send, and I was quite happy to learn someone was working my case. It may add an extra couple of weeks, but the end is near now. On Wed. April 24th I recieved the first notification of an RFE, and I received the second notice on Fri April 26th. Today, I received the hard copy.

  2. I am about to send my fiancee my I-134 and supporting documents, and I wanted to make sure that I haven't forgotten anything. This is what I have so far

    1. Completed I-134 (two original copies.) My fiancee's son will be coming here with her, and I indicated this in part 3 of the document. Do I need to complete a seperate I-134 for him as well?

    2. Tax returns for last 2 years

    3. Letter from employer signed and dated verifying salary.

Should this be enough supporting documentation, and do I need to complete a second I-134 for my fiancee's son too?

  3. That is great news! It sounds like we have about a 50/50 chance of getting the Moscow embassy anyway. She already has the police certificate from Kiev, so no problems there. We will just wait and see which embassy we get. If it is Kiev, she might just go back there for the interview rather than having the embassy transfer it to Moscow. I am not sure we want to risk any possible trouble or delays from that. Thank you very much. I appreciate the reply.

  4. My fiancee is a Russian citizen that currently is living in Ukraine. When we originally filed for the fiancee petition, I requested that our file be sent to Kiev, Ukraine embassy. Now, she will most likely moving back to Moscow. Is it possible to change the embassy from Kiev to Moscow? I believe our case will be adjudicated any day now, and I do not want to make this request if it will slow down the process or create a large amount of paperwork. If anyone has experience with this, please let me know if this possible change is worth the trouble, or if it caused additional waiting for the NOA2.

  5. I really appreciate all the replies. I was only curious about the legal status if the AoS is not filed within the 90 days, and this has been answered. We have every intention of filing this well before this, as I would like the best of everythign for my fiancee. I am sure this will not be a problem, but it never hurts to be over informed in case of something unforeseable. Thanks again!

  6. I am currently waiting on the K1 petition approval, but of course I am trying to make sure that I am very well prepared for the next steps in our life together. I have yet to find a clear answer about the time frame for filing for the adjustment of status after getting married. I am aware that the K1 visa is for 90 days and that we will need to marry withing that time. I had assumed that we must file for the adjustment of status before this 90 days is over, but I have read other posts that this is not necessarily true and that the 90 days is only for the marriage date. Must we apply for the adjustment of status before 90 days after entry into the United States, or do we have additional time to file this if we are married within this time frame? If additional time, how much and where can I find this information on the USCIS?

  7. Hello,

I submitted the 129f in mid October this year, and of course my fiancee and I are waiting for the approval. Now, we are both gathering all of the required documents for the embassy interview and hoping for a swift processing time. I have a question about the financial documents that she will need for her interview at the embassy. I am visiting her in late December, and we were thinking that it would be good if I brought all the documents with me. Since our petition hasn't been approved yet, is it too soon to get the required financial documents? The signed letter from my employer, bank, and bank statements might be somewhat dated if our processing time is long, and I do not want my boss and bank to have to do this again if our petition is not approved until March or later. Thank you in advance to anyone who replies!

  8. I am very new to this forum, but I recently submitted for a K-1 visa for my Ukrainian fiancée. My petition is in the early stages of being processed, but when my fiancée looked over the copy of the packet that I mailed her, she realized that I forgot to include her official Russian divorce decree. I only included the translated copy of this decree. I am assuming that I will be sent an RFE for this, but didn't know if it would be better (quicker) to try and contact someone in the service center to send in the official untranslated Russian decree. Does anyone here have any recommendations on what I should do? Obviously, I would like to have my petition approved as quickly as possible and would like to preempt any possible RFE delay.
