  1. My husband has been n AP since october 4, 2012. Yes there is nothing you can do to expedite this processing but there r few things you can do.

    - try to contact with ur local senator/ congressman to make a inquire abt his case.

    - call DOS office few times a week

    - get email code from the embassy operator nd than email th embassy to ask abt his case status. You can email

    them every week.

    - whn you call dos office ask them what type of ap he is in.. Is it mendatory or internal??

    Hope this will help.

  2. Involve a senator this time (or congressman-whichever you have not used)

Ask them to perform a Senatorial/Congressional Inquiry to assist you in obtaining information about your case. And to forward you the DOS or embassy response.

Give them the basic facts. They do not care about your sob story. They just want to know that you are a registered voter. He is in Administrative Processing and you are unable to obtain information and would appreciate his help.

    interview on xxxxx

    case number CROxxxxxxxx

    your name

    beneficiarys name

Give them your email and phone number

and say your help is very much appreciated

    Thank you

ok so i contact with our congressmen and received authorization form again and i am planning to write a letter containing just some info about what we did so far. now do i need to mention n the letter about what senator told us? what else i should ask them to find out about his AP?

thank you again you are a great help :D

  3. well he is originally from Bangladesh. so far he went to Italy, Switzerland, France and on 2009 he went to Bangladesh to meet with his family. Few weeks ago i talked to our state senator office and they told me that his case is under AP now. So there is nothing much they can do but if i don't here anything from the embassy withing 90 days than i can contact with the senator office again. :( so i guess that wasn't a big help :(

really don't know what else to do now.

he submitted his passport on Jan 03, 2013 and its been already more than 2 months.

I checked his AP case status and there is no update since March 12, 2013. :crying:

what should i do? should i involve another congressmen for his case?

  4. Well, you asked the first question right.

So you are in Mandatory AP

    Next time ask

"Is it Mandatory or at the embassy level?" and see what they say

Ask them are they actively working on his case? (sometimes it is just sitting on a desk waiting for a next step)

Ask them when the last time it had any updates

    Good luck

and remember not everyone will answer you or be nice

    Hi "together4never13"

first i want to thank you so much for ur help. I really appreciate it :D

so i called DOS today and found out that my husband's case is still pending/processing AP and its at embassy level. so is that a bad news?? he has a common Muslim name. so do u think maybe that's why its taking long time to finish his AP? :(:crying:

  5. You ask one question at a time

Ask... Am I in mandatory ap... If they say yes then you know it is fbi checks. If they say just administrative processing you ask is it internal. That means the co is doing the investigation, background check or reviewing documents

well i called DOS today. operator was a lady and she was soooo nice :D so i asked her about my husband case and she said its n AP and then i asked is it mandatory? she said yes but when i asked her again so its not in internal AP? than she said there r no differences between internal or mandatory because they all are same processes.(dont know why they r keep telling me this):(

  6. They probably started the Administrative Processing the same day he took the interview. Right after he received the 221(g) refusal paper.

There is no timeline for AP cases unfortunately.

I have been put in AP too and the CO told me to wait from 2 weeks to 8 weeks. But apparently it's not true.mad.gif

thank u for ur reply NickUSMC

I don't know my husband case was refused under 221 (g) or not because when he had his interview CO just marked on his paper "your application require additional processing. we will contact you when processing is complete."

there were another few lines about refused under section 221(g) but it wasn't marked.

when he had his interview we had no idea about AP. we knew that embassy take little time to process visas but never knew they take this long time to process. :(:crying:

  7. Congratulations :D @ Export to Dhaka

my husband had his CR1 visa interview at US Embassy in London on Oct 04, 2012 and he has been n AP since than. now he is planning to go back to Bangladesh so unfortunately he has to transfer his case to the US embassy in Bangladesh.

so the question is do u think it will be a bad idea? do u think it will take extremely more time to process his visa? :(

  8. thank u so much for this link.. finally i can check my husband case status but i am little confuse abt his case status..

its saying "Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days."

what they mean by currently undergoing necessary AP? its been already more than 5 months since he had his interview. so is that mean they just started his AP? :o:help: please :crying:

  9. Additional processing is the same as administrative processing.

You need to find out if Ap is being done on the embassy level (counselor review) or if AP is at the FBI or Washington level

Be very careful on how you ask questions. They are trained to always say " Your file is at the embassy" so people get happy and think AP is done, but in reality your "file" never leaves anywhere because it is in the computer database.

    Good luck

i called DOS and asked them about mandatory or internal AP and she said its all the same. (which doesn't make sense) so if i have to ask abt what level his case is how specifically should i ask? can u plz tell me...

  10. thank u anitanmohamed hopefully u'll hear some good news soon as well.

well we tried everything. We r trying to b positive about it but its getting soo hard. When my husband had his interview the embassy CO gave him blue paper nd marked "need additional processing" but now when i checked DOS website its saying "administrative processing." its so confusing. I even went to our State Senator and they called me back today nd told me the same thing. now really dont know what to do. I see so many horror story about AP. :(

It's getting very frustrating for us not knowing what's going on with his case.

  11. Thank you so much for your advice. My husband had his interview for IR1/CR1 on 12-20-2012 and we were put on administrative processing :( As of today when we check our case # on the administrative processing part of the US embassy Cairo web site it states " case # not found" I have e-mailed the Embassy 3 times about it and still No reply.

same thing happening with my husband case. he is n AP since October 2012, after his interview we checked embassy website with his case# and nothing came up. so we cant even check his AP status :(
