I have a simple question concerning the affidavit of support. To put everything into context, my wife has obtained US Citizenship by birth abroad through her parents and she is currently living in Montreal, Canada with me. We just had a child a month ago and my wife is currently not working. Also i recently been offered a job in the US.
Since the affidavit of support doesn't really take into account that i will have a job in the US, we are obligated to have a joint sponser. My question is, does my wife need to file a I-864 even though she has never worked in the US and will not be working for awhile? Can the joint sponser be the only one filing the I-864...
Thank you in advance for your answers

She needs an immigrant visa- with that, she will become a citizen upon entry. If she just visits as a Canadian citizen without visa, no citizenship.
Thanks for your answer! that cleared up the confusion

I have a question concerning my daughter. I am a naturalized US Citizen and i lived only 2 years in the states. For my daughter to become citizen, the requirement is to live in the states 5 years prior to her birth. I am planning on going to the US within a year. Do i need to file an I-130 for my daughter?
I read somewhere that when i'll go through a US port of entry, she will automatically become a citizen....
I am a bit confused,
Thanks for your help
