Ok, sorry about the 2 topics. As far as adoption, no I have not legally adopted him, I'm not sure how that process works since I'm married to his mother so legally I'm assuming I would be his step father and be able to sponsor him.
I heard the process was about 1 year faster if I were to sponsor him.
I should note that he is a 12 y.o

Question #22 is confusing for me, does anyone have a simple answer for us on this one? thank you

Hi guys and gals, on the I-130 I'am going to sponsor my step son so the process will be quicker, but question # 1, 2 I have a question about, I put my child because step child is not a option. And do I put by adoption? really doesn't sound right but just want to make sure thanks in advance.

Hello all, my wife has been here now coming up on 2 years and we recently just went back the phils. to get her sons passport. My question is how hard is the process of bringing her 12 y.o. son to the U.S., from what I read it's pretty much just sending in a I-130 form, but does anyone have experience with this that might be able to shed a little light on the situation. Thank you in advance.

thanks guys, makes me feel much better

Hello all, thank you in advance for reading and helping.
My wife has her green card now, and she is renewing her Philippine passport at the consulate in Chicago, my question is is that the only passport she will need when we go on vacation to the Philippines this upcoming January? I have read somewhere she cannot get a U.S. passport and just to use her permanent residence card to reenter the U.S.
Any info is appreciated, would like to go on vacation with no surprises, thank you again.

Hello all, My wife has been in the U.S. almost a year now and has her resident card. Finally now that it's all over with we would like to explore having her father and sister visit, has anyone had any experience with bringing family members over to visit?
What kind of cost and timeline are we looking at?
Thank you in advance.

Hello all, She applied for it about 7 weeks ago, they initially said it would take 4. She called and they said immigration hasn't pushed it through yet. Is this just a case of the system being backed up(what else is new) or is something wrong? Thank you in advance.

Thank you very much, I want to put her on bills and add her to my accounts but they give me the run around because she really has no ID. At least now I know it's normal thanks again

Does anyone know how long it will be before she gets the EAD card and social security card ? Should I take her to the DMV to get a state ID? any info would be useful thank you in advance.

Ya the interview was on the 6th, we got it on the 7th, and the embassy received it on the 10th from 2go so I'm hopeful there won't be too much delay.

My fiance just had this issue where she did not bring a nbi with her former ex's last name, we got it in 1 day it was mailed back to them within a day. How long of a delay are we usually talking about for the completed visa if anyone has been thru this thank you.
-
It took close to a month for mine to get sent, but it does seem that most get sent a little sooner. As long as you get the MNL# just start setting stuff up and you should be good. We set up a few weeks between the medical and the Interview and that seemed to work for us, good luck.

Questions & comment=Great information here =Thanx a bunch !!I am curious about getting the medical & the embassy interviews done within the same few days or week? is this possible usually - as my fiancee lives in cebu & takes travel back & forth if isnt done about same times?? Thanx.
My fiance also lives in Cebu, but the medical and interview was a few weeks apart. If you can afford better to space them apart the embassy emcourages at least 1 week between. The flight cost about 3800.00 pesos so not to horrible, good luck guys.

Yes don't wait, revieve the MNL number the go to bpi, pay for visa, register online at st lukes, then schedule interview. Like they said a delya at medical can be long// drink lots of water and milk to clear the lungs and good luck.

I just got out of it a few days ago, seems the most u will wait is close to a month, I talked to one of the supervisors there and she admitted that they are swamped due to the USCIS putting through all the applications from CSC in a short time. It should be soon hang in there

Yes, you don't have to wait. Our packet just got mailed on the 23rd of may and she is already done with the medical and the Interview on june 5th.

Hello, my fiance passed her medical on May 23 and her interview is scheduled on June 5th, however the NVC has us in AP so my question is how long is the medical good for? thank you in advance
-
I was april 22nd I got MNL about may 6th, but to this point they have still not sent it out. My fiance just passed her midical and the interview is scheduled for the 5th of June, somehow I think were gonna need to reschedule that if they don't get the paperwork. They are seriously backlogged from all of us getting approved at once.

It doesn't matter how many times she has gone through the same thing, it's a required process. You could fight it or just simply follow it, up to you guys
Your answer doesn't apply to all cases, not all annuled will need a exam, yes they will need to look a papers. It depends on how the annulment was written wether parties were incapacited or not, thanks for the info though guys.
-
why would she go thru that , when she already had 1 too get the annulment in the first place?
-
Why at St Lukes are they asking for my fiance's annulment papers? how is that a part of the medical, anyone have any insight please?

Hello all. I'm trying to petition my step son from the Phil's and I'm a little confused, I was told it would be faster if I put the paperwork in my name since he is my child now, and was told too fill out just a I-130. Now I'm seeing Through the guide that I have to fill out a few other forms.
I'm going to assume that the guide is the correct way but I just want to make sure, any advice would be helpful thank you.
Info the boy is only 12, she has been here for 2 years, has green card and happily married thank you.
