  1. This is what my wife and I did when she arrived here on K1 Visa. We married a week after her arriving. On the marriage certificate has my full name and her full maiden name. When we applied for AOS she used my last name on the application. We tried changing her SS card to reflect her marriage name but they told us to wait until either she received her GC or EAD card. She received her EAD card and we went into SS to change her last name though we already went to the AOS interview using her SS card with her maiden name. They never question about her last name during the interviews.

  2. My wife's first K1 interview was a denial! I had to hire an attorney to fix the mistakes. The CO said I lied trying to get my fiancee to come abroad during the first failed interview. I wrote to my congress but it wasn't much help. I had to hire an attorney to fix the mistakes and on her second interview I flew over to be with her. I think with me being there was what made the difference. There were 8 other applicants and only 1 person and my fiancee (now my wife) passed. The american CO was rude and obnoxious toward the applicants because they dont speak english. He tried to speak Laotion but his accent was strange and many of the applicants had a hard time understanding him. this made him angry. LOL My impression of him was that he wasn't happy being stuck in a hot humid country 20 hours of flight time away from home. My wife stuttered on a few questions but when he asked me I was able to explain in much better details. I wish you luck!

  3. KKK123 - OMG your interview is tougher than all of my wife's interviews including K1, first I485 and second i485. I am happy you and your hubby has passed! Our second interview officer was in a good mood I think cause we were in and out in less than 20 minutes. Both of our GC interviews the two different officers have never asked for pictures though we brought them along. This is the Sacramento office. Greenie I wish you luck!

BTW - The letter said there will be camera but we were not under any camera filming or recording during the interview process.

  4. Sorry I forgot my password for Hleris so I created this new account.

We arrived and it was pretty crowded but this time we were called in on time. The first interview, we had to wait 45 minutes after our scheduled time. The interviewer settled us in his room and escorted our translator out. He said we won't be needing him as I can translate for my wife since we speak the same language. He first asked for the birth certificate for our son. He asked if I had a copy of it and yes I did.

His poker face made my wife uneasy but he asked me the majority of the questions.

    1) how many times I have been married?

    A) 1 time and she passed away from cancer 3 years ago leaving me with 3 young childrens.

    2) Are you not who you stated on the application because I am showing that you once lived in Co and who is this XXXXX?

    A) She was an ex-GF that we had a child together. We were never married. I am paying CS for the child.

    3) So she divorced you? (He sort of grinned.)

    A) I assumed so but we were never married.

    4) How did you meet your wife?

    A) I saw her pictures on this website xxxx.com.

He turned to my wife and asked her the following questions.

    1) How did you meet your husband?

    A) I had my pictures on the internet xxxxx.com and he saw and called me.

    2) Did you like your husband when you met him and what did you think about him?

    A) Yes I did but I was very nervous and shy meeting him the first time. It is natural I guess to be nervous meeting someone you like for the first time.

The interviwer said "OK I have what I needed and you answered the questions that I wanted." and he continues "I will approve your GC after checking something later today."

I thanked him and shook his hand.

Later that night I checked online and the following showed:
