  1. Dont be . . I got my NOA2 on 8/24 - My petition was not sent to Kingston til September 19 and Kingston did not acknowledge receiving it until September 26th and I did not get a copy of the interview letter til October 19th . . . hope this helps.

It does help to know that others have had similar experience. I am holding on to the fact that one day all this wait will be over and we will be together. I wish you Gods blessing while you are going through the process and thank you for your empathy. You guys are so supporting.

  2. It happens. We were stuck there for almost 8 weeks in AP on our K1 visa, back in 2008/2009. It takes a lot less time now, but they do take the odd petition out of the queue, and subject it to extra scrutiny. Lately, it has been about 3 weeks before they send them on. They cannot deny, so don't worry about that. It seemed pretty pointless to us back in the day, and our FOIA request showed that it was purely random.

Keep calling them. We got at least two letters that said they would send it on to the consulate, even after they knew it was in AP. We never did get notified that it had finally been sent on. The only way to know is to call them.

Thanks so much for your kind words, they did help. And yeah our petition might be a little bit odd since there is a considerable age gap between us and that might be a reason for extra scrutiny. But love conquers all. Thanks and God bless.

  3. Hello Everyone,

I called the NVC today to find out if our case has been sent to our Consulate in Jamaica as yet and I was told no. I asked why is it still being held, they have the file since 10/19/12, I was given the consulate case number. The CSR says to check back in a week and see. I asked her specifically if our case is in AP she says yes as of today it is and I should check back at the end of the week to see if it is released. My question is, is this normal at this state after receiving NOA2, I thought all background checks and verifications were done at USCIS, and what could they be looking for at this point and how long does AP at the NVC stage take? I am truly frustrated. Thank you for your response.

  4. My fiancé was just approved!!! Over the moon happy right now, yet concerned as there is a hurricane headed his way as he is rushing to get home. I have his DHL tracking number- how long should it be before the DHL site even shows the package exists? Right now it just says "no results found for your tracking inquiry". What will it say first when it appears in the system? He also opted to have it delivered to his workplace in Ocho Rios. Has anyone else had it delivered to a business like that? I'm wondering if it'll slow down delivery.

Hope everyone is well and to everyone in Jamaica PLEASE STAY SAFE!

    CONGRATULATIONS.

  5. you need to be on top of things. since you were approved the 15th, you can call NVC next week monday or tuesday to find out if they get your case. I can only help you when your case is on its way to ja consulate. in the mean time, have your fiancee go to get a police record, it only cost $2000 for the express service which he should do. this link will explain all about it http://www.my-island-jamaica.com/how-to-obtain-a-police-record-in-jamaica.html

Next thing he/she will need to do is get a non impediment letter which he will apply for at the RGD office (he needs the original birth certi to do this) in the parish he/she lives. this cost about $6500 for the regular service. in the mean time, just wait for the case to reach and leave NVC and let me know

    good luck

We will get started on the police record and the non-impediment letter. I always new he needed his police record but never thought of a non-impediment letter, go figure. Thank you so much for your assistance and I will keep you up to date on our progress.

  6. My husband never got anything from the embassy until a week before his interview. Ricky is right...you can let it take its own (slow) course or we can help you move it along via email. Make sure your fiance has his non-impediment and police report ordered or in place.

Thank you very much for your response, I would really love your help and guidance.

  7. there is a guide on the bottom of this page explaining what to do once your approved. This is only apart of the requirements for the interview. http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide

There are ways to expedite you getting an interview date. maybe 2-3 weeks but you would need to do some more stuff. if you want those guidelines, we are willing to help, other wise, you can just wait for everything to happen naturally

Thank you. I would really love to learn how to expedite getting an early interview date after waiting so long for our approval. Your help/guide will be greatly appreciated.

  8. Hello Everyone. Congratulations to all who have received their NOA2 this month and my prayers to all those who are still waiting. I am new to this site and I need some clarity on my situations. I just received my letter in the mail from USCIS stating that my I129F Petition For Fiance was approved and forwarded to the listed Consulate. And that I should contact the consulate with any further questions about visa issuance. My question is What's Next. Should my fiance and I wait to hear from the Consulate in Jamaica or is there something that I can do in the mean time. I was under the assumption that the approved documents would be sent to the Visa Center then forwarded from there to the consulate. Am I missing something here? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
