  1. Hi all...I haven't posted a lot lately. Too stressed out waiting for the interview. Anyway, we were approved at the London embassy on May 30th!

After trying to obtain the documents etc the interview itself was a "let down!" Not even asked one question at all! We stood there looking like dummies waiting to be "interviewed."

Now the fun part of trying to figure out an exit plan!

  2. Just wanted to post and say that we are still waiting for an interview (our petition was sent to London the first part of Feb.)...I haven't been posting much because I was driving myself crazy with worry!

The last few months I have been pretty much OK trying to ignore the visa stress, other than a few times, but lately I have been feeling really antsy and hope this means that we might hear soon about an interview date!

Congrats to all of you that have received your visas over the past few weeks! Good luck with the moves :)

  3. We do have a joint account, but my name is not on the mortgage as he lived here before we married and I moved over. We have lots of photos of the four of us at all times of the year/holidays etc. We don't have private medical here in the UK so just our individual NHS numbers. Hmmmm...will have to think of something else too I guess.

  4. So you get the "missing or incomplete" message when they are waiting for the DS-230??......cos i got the DS-230 in the mail yesterday & also got that message on the phone when i called!!

It could be something to do with the I-864. I called the automated line and got that message and then called back and talked with the operator and she told me what we were missing over the phone. Give the NVC a call!

  5. I have seen dream whip all over the place in the US (while living in different parts of New England and in northern CA) Good luck finding a source near you...or have someone send you some in the post...it is light enough!

I have had so many problems like this while living in the UK. On one hand it is no big deal in the grand scheme of things, but when you're missing home etc. it becomes overwhelming at times!

ooh check the old thread! I linked it in the first post - its got some URLS for places that do the bigger sizes :)

I had my SO measure his US bed btw, and thats a King size, and it came out as 79 inches wide, 81 inches long :)

Thanks for the tip! I missed the old thread the first time around.

  7. My duvet can't short circuit and electrocute me either ;)

AND I can wash it in the machine :P:whistle:

Growin up my mom always yelled at me because I hated using a top sheet and would just put it in my closet. When I moved out on my own and had kids etc, I just never bothered putting on the top sheet...just a fluffy comforter and extra blankets in the winter.

So, moved here to the UK and yeah!!!!....love my duvets! I told my mom "see, told you I wasn't just lazy...it is more comfy!"

Now that we are heading back I am stocking up on duvets to bring back. The only problem is, is that my bed in the US is king-sized
