  1. To submit a birth certificate it has to be the long one and official. Not sure what the age declaration is or why you need his brother to make it? Please provide more info as to why you had to go through this process? Thanks.

I got a copy of it....it says Attestation of Birth. His brother had to go do a sworn statement of who he was and when he was born and to whom. The attestation has the year he was born and where and to what family.

  2. They are asking about USA visas.

Now, are the information in his passport correct? Date of birth, place of birth, etc and matches the info on birth certificate, US forms, etc

    Yes everything is the same.

The question on the forms is about visas to the US. He may be asked about other travel during the interview.

oh ok I hope it doesn't effect us.

  3. My husband had been scammed by that huge work visa scam in 2011. He was promised a work visa to Australia..im sure many of you heard of it. Will this affect us? He was able to get his passport back. one of the questions on the forms is have you every tried to obtain a visa. should he put yes or no? Because yes he did try to apply but the company he went through was just a scam. So we are not sure.

  4. Personally if they don't request my appearance then i will not show my face some of those security can be very annoying and tend to embarrass you in public

what do you mean they embarrass you?

Having you there, even while waiting outside helps both of you with the intense emotions the day brings. Either way, whatever the outcome of the decision the CO gives, it is great to be with one another to face the music.

    that's how I feel.

  5. Spouses cannot go into the interview, they usually have to wait outside.

But the Beneficiary can take the spouse's passport into the interview to make the CO aware their spouse is present.

Yeah I heard we cant go in...but ill be outside waiting for the outcome.

I just want to be there for him to celebrate or worse case scenario...be there to console each other and find out what our next move will be.

  6. I agree with Gowon  Be patient and focus. Keep in mind this process is detail oriented and you will need to give it time and not expect things to happen overnight. Some of us have been in this VJ for over four years. :bonk: Take it one step at a time and one day at a time.....one day this all will be a distant memory...Thank God!

We are here to help you get through this.

    thank u :)

  7. I read the guids saw the forms but i dont navigate this site so well to gather all the information i need. Is there a number i can call for help filling the forms? What about teaching.me what i send to uscis and then to nvc and what i hv to do at interview level....im overwhelmed. Thinking.of hiring a lawyer to help.

  8. I have a short greenish blue certificate issued three months after my birth by the local government and that is what I have used for all my immigration processes. My Husband also has a short white certifcate issued by the local govt in his year of birth and so far we have been good. I think NPC certificate only comes in when people lose or do not have that original birth certificate anymore( we had to get one from them for my mom). Then again you stated your hubby's BC was issued by the hospital so I don't know if that will be accepted. In view of that, getting one from NPC may be the safest option

    yes hes contacted them.

  9. My husband.has a blue birthcertificate. He went to get it.from a clinic in his home town but now hes getting i.formation.tht it wont.b recognize because the hospital may not b goverment authirized. Can someone tell me what the official one looks like?

  10. every section has a title or you can just hand write the entire address.

I had used an online expandable form for I-130 and G325 that worked real good (sorry, no I have no idea where to find it)

even when I handwrite it...it doesn't fit :( man I hate that it cant all fit on one nice neat sheet. so I have to add 2 attachment sheets. do know if I place them behind the form?

  11. Use a separate sheet and type the full address. Put See Attachment on the form

    Good luck!

thanks for your responses. but Im confused how to present the attachment. I mean how do refer back to the question? the are no question numbers. its his parents addresses that do not fit.

  12. There's no state seal. Its a certification. In our case my husband got a certified copy and the magistrate that was at the courthouse signed and dated it. It's just someone certifying that this is a copy of the original is all a certified copy is.

All you need to request is to say "I need a certified copy of my marriage certificate". The registry when he went to lagos they wanted to see a copy of the original he had that no problem and got a certified copy of it.

Don't know what else to tell you.

My husband did get something that does say that but its on a separate sheet of paper not the copy. but Ima have to send him to go get it. thank you for the info.

  13. Okay you are not understanding. Who ever issued the marriage certificate is the only one that can give you a certified copy. You can go back to the registry. The church does not issue marriage certificates. I know my husband went to Registry in Lagos but in Abuja he went to Courthouse to get the certified copy.

If not signed, stamped or sealed by who issued it NVC will not accept.

I thought so and when I was there I sent my husband to the registry to check why there is no type of state seal on the marriage certificate. so he went there and they said nothing like that is needed. that what we have is a legal marriage certificate. so if that's the case what type of stamp would they put on a copy that would make it certified?

  14. The governing body that issued it. What it is is a copy of the original and they certify that this is a copy of the original. Only the issuing place can certifiy it. It might be a stamp or seal or something.

is that the same place where he registered it? or the church we were married at?
