  1. how far are you in this process? Did you file the waiver?

We first filed I129F in July 2012 and were approved in March 2013. We had our fiance visa interview in May 2013. We were denied and found out that the State Dept. had made a clerical error on my fiance's tourist visa from 2011/2012 which would have barred him for life; however, we worked with our attorney and cleared up the matter with the State Dept. and Embassy by Dec. 2013 at which point the embassy said we could apply for an I-601 Waiver. It took us 5 months with our attorney to assemble the waiver and we submitted in May. NSC received our waiver application on May 30, 2014. It is now obviously 4.5 months since then and we are still in Initial Review. If his waiver is approved, it will grant us the K1 visa so he can travel here and we can be married in the US, go through AOS, etc. But I found out I was pregnant in April so makes it all the more difficult at this point. The burden of travel, etc. is on me to go see my fiance since he obviously cannot get any other type of temporary visa while we are in process for the K1. He has not been to the states since his tourist visa expired in March 2012.

  2. Lawyer submitted our I601 in May and NSC received it on May 30, 2014. We are still in Initial Review based on checking the Case Status online. I am hoping it is true to the 5 month processing time. Reading this thread that 14 month quote above makes me a little scared and not sure how that would be possible. It has been 2.5 years since we first submitted our I129 Fiance visa application.

  3. Over the moon. I was able to do a service request finally on Sunday online after they updated processing times over the weekend.

How did you do service request over the weekend

Hi, I noticed the USCIS processing times for Vermont were updated over the weekend so our petition was over posted processing times. If you look on their website www.uscis.gov, click check status, in the left hand menu there is a Service Request link and if you are indeed over, mine was at 9 months, then you can submit a request online. Hope that helps.

  4. WOW! I'm so sorry to hear that! it's ridiculous how much time they are taking! Geez...it took me 229 since my husband and I filed for my k1 visa until we got married a month later after my arrival...

Hopefully you will hear something very soon!

Thank you. Yeah it is a little ridiculous now. I have called Tier 2 reps at USCIS and I have been in constant contact with my Congressman as well about it. I am here in the States and my fiance is in the Bahamas waiting on this to come through as we did not want to renew his tourist visa which in the end, we should have done to ease the burden of visiting, but we did not think it would take this long. I can only assume I must be able to hear something in the next 2 weeks. I just wish they would update processing times again. The last time was Dec. 31, 2012 and they were working on July 2, 2012 so I have not exceeded processing times since we are July 12. Crazy as I thought I would be married by now and we would be starting our life together here in Texas.

  5. August 6th filer here going through Vermont. Getting to be very frustrated with this whole thing. I see september filers complaining and I just want to gag them, but then I see July filers still waiting so I guess I shouldn't complain so much.

July 12 and still waiting. I almost had to stop coming to this site when I saw people who filed in Sept. or Oct. complaining.

  6. So sorry to hear that you guys are still waiting. Have you tried to call VSC and speak to a Tier 2 rep? Good luck, we hope you get it soon

Hi, thank you for the reply. Yes, I have spoken to a Tier 2 a few times and it has not done anything (I often wonder if pestering them puts you at the end of the pile) so I keep having my Congressman send letters as well. Since they have not updated processing times since Dec. 31, it still says July 2nd so I have no case for a service request until they update that, which I have figured out they do this on purpose so they never actually have to be viewed as past processing times. The other couple that is petitioner from Bahamas was 245 days so I can only assume ours will be similar but I don't know if I am just making up logical arguments for myself at this point :)

  7. July 12th Filer and Still Waiting. My Congressman has written 3 times and this last time the response at least indicated an officer had been assigned. This is a greuling process to watch so many that filed after us get approved faster. I just hope for good news everyday. Sometimes I think checking these forums and Igor's list is not helping me feel any better. It used to, but not now. Hang in there other May/June/July filers who have not heard back yet.

  8. I am a July 12th filer and we have been patiently waiting. I went ahead and contacted my Congressman in Massachusetts. They have been very responsive and attentive; however, they cannot do much either until it is beyond processing times at which point they will send another letter from the Congressman's office. Still a waiting game but it is sooo frustrating to see the California filers and also filers that were sent to local offices in August.

  9. I am just past the four month point and I did call USCIS today to inquire as to the status. I spoke to a Tier 2 representative based on finding instructions here on the website. They were not that informative and it only discouraged me further, for two reasons, first they said my case had not been assigned to an officer and secondly, they will not put in a service request for another 87 days which would be the 7 month time period, not 5 months that everyone quotes so it is rather frustrating not knowing where the case sits or when/if they will get to it or if we are really waiting another 3 months before a service request can even be entered.

  10. I hope Vermont speeds up; it has been excruciating to watch CSC people who submitted after Vermont filers to get approved first, then also Vermont filers that were sent after August 15th were sent to local branches and also approved faster so those of us in the May, June, July Vermont files will have to wait the longest and it is by no rhyme or reason, just unlucky in location and timing.

  11. Congrats again. You filed after August 15 when all the files started getting sent to the local field office so that is why yours went to Columbus because it was the closest to where you live. Just trying to clear things up for people who may be confused. So happy for you. Let's hope the rest of us who got transferred hear something soon!

Congrats to those who were processed so quickly; however, that seems to be the exception right now. So those filed prior to August 15th are still in process at Vermont? Seems unfair but we are patiently waiting. I received NOA1 July 12th and we are still waiting at Vermont Service Center for our NOA2. I know there are May and June filers still waiting as well so an excruciatingly difficult process for everyone.
