  1. My wife and I filed the I-751 on June 20th 2008, we received our letters telling us her green card is extended for another year and then yesterday we got a letter for her and her daughter to come in to take their biometrics.

My question is does this mean we will not have to go through another interview? We had one before they issued her 1st two year green card and all went well, oh and Her daughter who is 5 got her letter to come take them on a different day and its on a Saturday do they work on Saturday? We live in Columbus, Ohio

  2. Hey everyone,

Just thought I would update on our aos on Saturday September 23 Iryna got her green card in the mail on her birthday no less we are still trying to figure out why they call it a green card as its white, then on Wednesday September 27th her daughter Dasha GOT HER green card came in the mail so we are all done for 1 year 9 months then we will have to file to have the restrictions lifted so they can get a permanent card. we are happy happy :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance::D .

From the start of my filing for the finace visa until she got her green card was 437 days and for all you new VJ'ers we Iryna and I did the whole process ourselves without the help of a lawyer, it can be done and with the help from all the great people here on the forums you can do it yourself.

THANKS EVERYONE THIS SITE IS FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Glad every things are resolved.I also have a 3 year old .I believed that a biometric fee was not required for kids. Is this correct ? I asked because I thought that kids were not finger printed .I will be submitting AOS in October for my self and Kids. Thanks

    Shar

no they charged no fee for Dasha's fingerprint and photo and they should not after all her aos cost us 225 USD it was just a surprise when we got the letter on Wednesday but now all is done and her green card will be in the mail shortly

  4. Ok everyone for some back ground on this in June we received a letter from USCIS a Rfe on Iryna's Daughter saying they did not have her medical and need one well because Dasha come over on on k-2 visa she is 3 she had her medical in Minsk and it was taken at their POE JFK in December when they enter the us Her mothers was taken at that time too. So we call the 800 number for USCIS and after talking with 4 different people the last woman told us respond and tell them that she had a medical done and that she does not need it as YOU USCIS already have it you took it in DEcember at JFk. THey posted on the web site that they received our reply. Then we get Iryna's and Dasha Appointment for 9/18/06 which was Monday Iryna's was for 8:30AM Dasha's was at 9:00AM. THe interviewer told us everything was ok and that had everything she needed on Dasha and all was ok. Today on the web site it was posted on Iryna that her welcome letter was sent on the 19 and if we don't receive it in the next 30 days to call the 800 number listed below. But nothing under Dasha's number .

now today in the mail we get a letter from them stating Darya Sulkouskaya at our address and this is what it said:

Please come to the address shown below at the time and place indicated in connection with an offical matter

    office location:

Citizenship and immigration services in Columbus ohio

her MSC and ask for applications support center -Biometrics only

reason for appointment Biometrics-I-485 it gave the days we can come in and everything.

So has anyone seen this before and does anyone have any ideas what this is all about??? any help will be appricated.

Ok everyone I posted this yesterday after we got a letter from USCIS on my step daughter Dasha, it was no big thing as we went this morning and all they needed was to get a finger print of Dasha (she is 3 yo) and her picture I asked the woman taking the picture and fingerprints ok what does this mean and she said she will be getting her green card so all is well here as now I hope to see on the web site in a few days that Dasha's welcome to america letter has been sent just like they did her Mom's on the 19th of Sept so it was nothing to worry about.

Hope this helps everyone who has kids as I think this will happen to all if they did not get them done before the interview.

  5. Who is Darya? If the letter is not for anyone in your family, notify USCIS of the mix-up.

If it is for someone in your family, it sounds like the Biometrics need to be re-done.

no no I think everyone is confused Darsha is Iryna's 3 year old daughter who came over with her on a k-2 visa and she had her Medical done in Minsk in October of 05 so its under a year old. she is only 3 so you think they want a Medical redone one her? I think they lost her Medical that they took when her and Iryna entered the US in December of 05 and its lost somewhere at JFK or who knows where

  7. I checked the USCIS web site this morning and it said that on the 19th of Sept a Welcome letter was sent to your address yada yada, but my worry is this was for Iryna when I entered Dasha's msc number it just said that on june the 12 we received your response to our rfe!!!!! So no welcome letter was sent out for Dasha!!!!!

Should I worry? or will it show in a day or two that her letter was sent out too?

  8. oh by the way she took Iryna's I-94 and Dasha's I-94 out of their passport but to my knowledge they did not get the I-551 stamp in their passports.

The interviewer was like a robot did not smile much did look through all of our pictures we brought and was very surprised when Iryna told her I met with her parents when I was in Minsk with her.

She asked Iryna my two kids date of births, my DOB and her daughters DOb oh and Dasha had a interview at 9am and Iryna had hers at 8:30am but she did nothing about Dasha as she is only 3 told me when she interviewed me that we did not need to stay as she had everthing she needed on Dasha and that we were finished and could go home.

Oh and when she called us up first time Dasha was with us and she told me she needed to just talk to Iryna first and I said ok and told Dasha to come on let Mommy talk to the lady and Dasha took my hand and said ok daddy and we walked back in the waiting room and sat down and the interviewer watch dasha and I very closely.

trying to think of what else she asked me oh asked me about my late wife, when I met Iryna and how I met her and then she said I see you went to vist her and when I said yes I did in June of 05 and stayed for 30 days she was surprised again thats when she pretty much said ok I have everything I need.

    Hope this helps everyone.

  9. Hey All,

Iryna and I had our aos yesterday in Columbus, ohio they seprated us and interviewed Iryna first ask for some of her information and asked her how she felt about our age differences which is 20 years, to make this short I was then interviewed was ask only a few questions my sons age, my daughters age and their DOB's ask about Iryna's daughter her name and then asked about my trip to Belarus how I liked it and so on was only in about 10 mins Iryna was in about 15 she gave them our joint checking account statement our joint car insurance and I porvide them a copy of my health insurance where I have everyone covered, she did ask us both our address.

NOw my question is this, the WOman who did the interview told me ok I have everything I need everything looks ok and you will receive a answer in about two weeks, I ask her so everything is fine and she said yes. Does that mean that we should be approved and Iryna and Dasha will get there green cards? Just kinda wondering if we have anything to worry about? Thanks everyone.

  10. In early June we received a RFE on my wifes daughter who is just 3 years old and she came over on a K-2 visa, the rfe requested a medical on her, whcih she had in Minsk and they took it along with my wifes medical at their POE which was JFK on 4th Decembe of 05, We responded and sent them info on her visa and that she had a medical wich was surrendered to them on 4th Dec, they posted on the USCIS sight that they had received our reponse on 12 June. our question is should we go anyway and get another medical done on Dasha just to be sure and send it in?

BTW we sent in her I-693A in the sealed envelope they requested when we sent in our AOS for both of them and that cost us 50 USD for each one of them for a Civil surgeon to process for us.

Hi, im in K1 and doing AOS too, i have k2 son as well. as i remember on our hometown he got physical exams but not the way i had, like having an xray to check my lungs.

when we enter on our visa here in US, we process the I-693A , my K2 son had his skin test for TB test and not an xray. And since my son is 4 and turning 5 and ready for kinder school, we go for his general check-up and vaccines completed in our family doctor and send a copy when we try to transfer it to form I-693A for AOS.

As i knew, as a K1 i dont need to do a medical again, but complete my vaccine if i need a shot. As for the minor they dont need another physical exam but a skintest is required for TB test, and need to complete their vaccines.

    regards.

I just hope that eveyone on this site has found the happiness and love that I have and I want all to know that I am the luckiest man in this world.
